  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 02:53 PM) many pitchers want to stay in. with ref to sale wanting to stay, who is the manager? EXACTLY. He also said that he didnt need to go on the DL. Had they let him make that decision, he'd probably be rehabilitating from a visit at Dr Andrews' office.
  2. Someone put RV out of his misery, please. The problem with hiring a former-player/fan-favorite is it becomes hard to fire them when the vast majority of the fan base will ignore how terrible of a manager he is and rely solely on 20 year old memories when judging his "performance" to the White Sox.
  3. So my night went like this... Watched the game on MLB.tv. Fast forwarded through the Sox ABs to watch Sale only. Watched wanting to see a shut out. When it got to the seventh inning is was getting clear Sale was about done. He fell behind 2-0 2-1 each hitter in the seventh and narrowly escaped damage. When Sale came out for the eighth inning, I was yelling at the TV. WTF Robin you idiot?!?!?!?! After he gave up the first run in the eighth inning, I said "oh well, no shut out" and paused the game so I could play Call of Duty. I raged in CoD for an hour or so and picked up the game. Then real rage came. What an amateur move. Seriously amateur. Ace or not, he was done. He is coming back from a DL stint. Why push him?? Stupid. Give the ball to the rested bullpen. Halvies start between Noesi/Carroll and a day off before. The bullpen can't give you 6 outs against a struggling team?? He should have been pulled after seven. Stupid. Even today some 12 hours after the game is/was over, I am still pissed off about the stupidity of leaving him out there. ..... On the flipside, as an "Ace" he should have been able to pitch out of the jam and not implode, either.
  4. most ambiguous draft analysis quote: "There's good baseball players and then there's bad ones. Somewhere in that mix is a guy the team drafted."
  5. His swing looks niiice. quiet hands and all that s***. He and Rodon hopefully have the same assignment after signing.
  6. That's pretty cool that Rodon's GF is a diehard Sox fan. Lovin it.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) Clearly they think they are going to need to sign their #3 draft pick underslot to be able to pay for the first two. Could they just skip the 3rd round and use that $$ elsewhere??? Looks like a nice pick regardless. Imagine the Sox with a rotation in 2016 of all lefties.
  8. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Not on paper, although it's not like they went way off the board. Ranked at #91, #93 and #120 (BA, mlb.com, scout.com), taken at #77. averaging those projections out to 101... thats a net loss of 24 !!! OMG Sox WTF are you doing! GTFO!
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 12:09 PM) His girlfiend... https://twitter.com/keelyjolene She has a deviated septum and likely gets really bad sinus infections.
  10. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:53 AM) he has a huge ceiling so THAT'S what they are calling it nowadays....
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) What's an underslut? I dont think you can draft hoodrats, so they call them undersluts.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) ...who somehow destroyed his right shoulder diving in RF. Well ya... I think that's what the OP was saying.... He has good speed and a good arm, so if he can learn positioning, reads, etc... he will be a good RF-er and be less injury prone. Having to dive at everything likely increases injury risk.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) I like Oliver more I read. Good, potentially great stuff, maybe better than anyone left. Hasn't been able to put it together yet for whatever reason. DUI a day before the draft because he's apparently a moron but that should be a great negotiating tactic. People make mistakes. That doesn't mean he's a bad guy.
  14. Will the Sox face a potential penalty if they go over slot, IF they stay under their total allotment?
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) Who is Adams compared to in the MLB? Buckholz
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) We make our second pick tonight too OK, thanks for the clarification. I think it is a safe assumption that the Sox are getting a high-end player with their first pick. I am honestly more interested in their strategy for the second round and later...
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 11:29 PM) Soul Suspect has a metacritic of 59... OK so its really slow moving. Takes forever to get through an objective when you, as the player, know exactly whats coming. At any rate, its not a $60 value for a AAA title. I'd rather have had the opportunity to buy it used for say $35... can't expect to do that on release day. At any rate, its a nice change of pace from the FPS games and Watch_Dogs and my wife actually wanted to play missions with me. *shrug*
  18. Today is only the first round, correct? Are there any second round projections? I suppose I could just read a mock draft list and see who the 30 or so players are that start the rankings around 35.
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) Kenny Williams' cousin's son twice removed on his mom's side is a 5-10" 160lb prospect outta San Poly Prep he's batting 200/230/330 against high schoolers but KW promises he's get high upside potential. Possible 40th round pick. super original
  20. Leury with the range to get to it... most normal large-bodied 3B dont get there... just look a weird angle to field it.
  21. I wish this damn game would end so I can go play Watch_Dogs
  22. The Dodgers are playing like s*** and have been for a few weeks now, the Dodgers aren't going to hit their way into the lead.
