  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) It looks horrible for us, regardless of whether the Padres get any production out of anyone we traded for them or not. That trade was not about players, it was about Jake's condition and money. It has been an absolute disaster for us to this point, regardless of how you view it. Yea certainly understand in that perspective. But i know there has been some rumbling about that insurance policy so who knows if the White Sox actually lost money there. But yea I guess we can only judge the trade until Peavy's tenure in Chicago comes to an end whenever that is. But I gotta agree with KW about having no regrets trading for Peavy tho as the team did lack a true #1 ace.
  2. I may be expecting too much but I looking for a sweep for the Sox... this is a pretty bad MINN lineup that we are going to face, no Mauer, no Span, no Thome, no Kubel and perhaps no Morneau, only problem is their pitching has been decent so far this season, but our bats are finally alive hopefully we can get this done.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) He might be but why would we listen? The fellow has solidified our pitching staff and is one of the big reasons we are still in this thing. I think we will be buyers not sellers Exactly... no way this team is gonna be sellers unless the team torpedos downwards from now till trade deadline. But I leave the qs who should we try to acquire and what needs. Ya the hitting has been horrendous save for a select few but the guys that suck all have heavy contracts and track record that no way Ozzie would bench.
  4. Certainly KW won that trade for Jake Peavy, regardless even if Peavy's contributions have been limited
  5. Aaron Poreda was DFA'd by the Padres which means only remaining player from the Jake Peavy trade is Clayton Richard. This trade is looking great on KW side but obviously we know Jake hasn't been one bit of what he was in SD as injuries have derailed his chances but only time will tell what sort of contribution is to come.
  6. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) Floyd - Pavano Buehrle - Blackburn Jackson - Duensing (sp?) Thanks
  7. I could only imagine where the team would be in the standings if we had won the Santos meltdown game and the one Peavy got the groin strain (there was no doubt we were going to win that one)... that could have been us trailing only by 1.5 GB... how frustrating
  8. hey any1 know what the pitching matchups are for the 3 game set vs MINN
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) Watch him. It couldn't be more obvious. He had those couple games off and has come out of it with his hands starting at the numbers instead of starting at the hips. He's had what, 4 hits, most of them right up the middle, since bringing his hands up. Rios also is no longer batting with the black bat, never seen him do that even in his years in Toronto. He certainly is trying every possible option to get out of the funk.
  10. Would Ozzie have the guts to bench Pierre again.
  11. This is a good learning experience for Santos... you learn from failure and let's hope this is a step in the right direction for the development for Santos being a better pitcher or in fact a better closer. Ya it hurts .... but he's gotta learn to not overthrow and overdo everything just do get out of things. I think he'll learn from this... and don't doubt the team's ability to bounce back.
  12. Everyone needs to chill out.... the season ain't over not even close ... We are playing in the freaking AL Central
  13. It's just frustating that we had this one in the bag and let it loose.... we are quite fortunate that this is a s***ty division. I still see optimism surround the teams chances... Detroit now goes up vs Pineda/Hernandez and Clevelands got 3 more vs the Yankees. So we can trim this down to 2.5
  14. Whenever we get something good going the bullpen blows the s*** up (beginning of the season Sox were playing quite good first 10 games and bullpen blows a handful of them) and now we got this s*** going on rite now.
  15. Just turn the page on this one and move on
  16. OK so whos the closer? Do we still stick with Santos?
  17. ok thats the ballgame this is really disheartening
  18. I can't believe Santos couldn't close the deal on Willingham after having him 0-2
  19. I wouldn't be so down on Bruney...at least he is a better option than Pena.
  20. Ozzie has to be real confident in Bruney to bring him in the 8th.
