That's part of why I started this thread, to see how the lists of Sox fans of different ages would differ. Players like Dick Allen and Wilbur Wood probably make the lists of Sox players who are older than me.
-
I've heard that it is to honor Charley Lau.

This is why people in the middle of the country think people on the East coast are clueless when it comes to geography: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/04/08/kasich-insi...r-nice-guy.html

Maybe there's a reason you don't stick a catcher in the outfield.

OK, excluding retired numbers, 13 and 56 which are going to be retired, and 6, which is quasi-retired, who is your favorite (not necessarily best) Sox player to wear each number. Some of the higher numbers I didn't pick anybody because there wasn't anybody I liked enough to mention 1 - Lance Johnson 5 - Ray Durham 7 - Scott Fletcher 8 - Bo Jackson 10 - Alexei Ramirez 12 - AJ Pierzynski 15 - Tadahito Iguchi 17 - Ross Gload 18 - Claudell Washington 20 - Ron Karkovice 21 - Esteban Loaiza 22 - Ed Farmer 23 - Jermaine Dye (sorry Robin) 24 - Floyd Bannister 25 - Jim Thome 26 - Orlando Hernandez 27 - Geoff Blum 28 - Joey Cora 29 - Greg Walker (sorry Jack) 30 - Tim Raines 31 - LaMarr Hoyt 32 - Alex Fernandez 33 - Aaron Rowand 34 - Freddy Garcia 36 - Jerry Koosman 37 - Bobby Thigpen 38 - Pablo Ozuna 39 - Roberto Hernandez 40 - Wilson Alvarez 41 - Tom Seaver 43 - Damaso Marte 44 - Tom Paciorek 45 - Bobby Jenks 46 - Neal Cotts 49 - Chris Sale 50 - John Danks 51 - Alex Rios 52 - Jose Contreras 55 - Carlos Rodon 57 - Boone Logan 62 - Jose Quintana 65 - Nate Jones 79 - Jose Abreu

OH MY GOD THE SOX ARE GETTING KILLED!!! Never mind, I read this thread before looking at the score. It's actually tied. -

My congressman is giving up his seat to run for Senate. Some super-wealthy businessman from Tennessee wants to replace him: http://www.indystar.com/story/news/politic...-dist/81332140/ This is why the system sucks. Instead of someone who has lived in the district working their way up through the ranks, like as a state representative or senator, we're going to get a super-rich guy who just parachutes in from another state. He's run boatloads of TV ads and his primary opponents haven't run any, so I'm thinking he's a good bet to win the nomination, and this is an R+8 district so that makes him a safe bet for November.

Will there be Chance encounters at games?

He's pretty much admitted this and said that he has staff assigned to let him know if he slips back into that mode.
-
Well, a big part of it is just that he has a very low level of trust in Hillary. Another big part of it is that the far right Republicans are singling out a couple of Kasich's positions (accepted Medicaid expansion in Ohio, said he accepts the SC gay marriage ruling as the law) and are trying to paint him as a liberal. They're inadvertently turning some liberals on to Kasich.

Parking is free for every team if you park far enough away.

This isn't really news. Anytime Robertson has pitched 3 days in a row, he isn't going to be available, and Jones is the obvious choice for the 9th inning on those occasions.
-
It's just one person, but I have a very good friend who has never, ever voted for a Republican in an election. He can't stand Hillary. He's said he'll vote for Kasich if he is the Republican nominee, but will either begrudgingly vote for Hillary or maybe a 3rd party if Cruz or Trump is the nominee.

I can't believer there were two people who did worse than me.

Erik Bauersfeld, 93. He said this:

Yes, it is an MLB rule. Live streaming is only through the purchase of mlb.tv and only for out of market games.

That's languages. Interracial marriages are fine so long as you speak the same language.
-
All these people making predictions after the season starts. Cheaters!!
-
I'm a pretty religious person and I've never been able to find in the Bible 1) that interracial marriage is sinful and 2) even if it is sinful, that it's OK to treat sinners that way. I'm pretty sure Jesus related to sinners very differently.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-...-race/82584514/ Trump and Cruz got a combined 83.6% of the vote in the Mississippi Republican Primary. It's probably not ridiculous to assume that most, if not all, the members of his church, community and his mother-in-law who "don't allow that black and white shacking" are Trump or Cruz supporters. These are the kinds of attitudes that these two are appealing to.

Avi barley has 1000 PA under his belt. I'd like to see him get a chance to see if he can improve vs RHP before relegating him to a platoon role. I know ST stats are not particularly useful, but he did hit RHP well this spring so I think that at least earns him a chance. Maybe Avi and Jackson could share the playing time vs RHP. If a high-K pitcher like Sale or Rodon is pitching, then maybe you can let Avi play in the OF and sit Jackson. If you have Danks or Latos pitching, then maybe you need Jackson more in the OF and sit Avi.
-
Loney should never, ever bat vs LHP. So who does he platoon with if the Sox pick him up? I'm not really ready to make Avi a platoon player yet. Do you sit Jackson vs RHP and let Loney DH and Avi play in the OF??
-
Rather than starting a new thread, I'll also mention that this year mlb.tv has a team specific package that you can buy that is $15 less than the full mlb.tv package. If you live outside of the Chicago market and only want to watch the Sox, you can get the cheaper package.

Not as bad as Oklahoma.
