I'm not saying the Bears should outbid everybody else for Cutler and/or ruin their cap space to keep him, but he's definitely a better option than McCown. I love what Josh has done, but Cutler is still a better passer and is far more mobile.

Fixed that for you.

Getting a lot of good pieces for Sale is a very tempting thought, but at the end of the day, even if the trade helps you win more games, you need a stud ace to win you those playoff games once you get there, and while the Sox have a lot of nice arms in the system, none of them is ever going to match Sale.

Of course he does, otherwise they'd have to change the name of the surgery.

No Aldi near you? We switched from Kroger to Aldi about 2 years ago and we probably cut 35-40% from our grocery bill. There are a few things we use that Aldi doesn't carry so we still end up at Kroger about once/month, but man Aldi is cheap.

Because he may not be a backup. If Semien does not earn the 3B job, Uribe could be part of a platoon with Gillaspie or maybe even earn the job outright. He's also a better option at 2B or SS in case they end up making a trade involving Ramirez or Beckham. Uribe would give the Sox a lot of flexibility with the roster.

Semien isn't going to be a backup at his age though. Semien is either earning the starting 3B job or starting the year at AAA. I see Uribe as more of a potential upgrade over Keppinger/LGarcia.

I think it may be more of a misconception that it's very easy to get guys to sign extensions. I wouldn't trade for Gardner or Headley without a long term deal in place, and I can't think of a really good reason why either one would sign such a deal rather than test free agency.

Did you actually watch the game? MSU defenders hauled down ND receivers on something like 4 out of 5 plays. Besides, it was a BIG officiating crew. -

Yes, the refs called a lot of pass interference penalties because MSU kept interfering with pass receivers. Go figure. Still, it's very odd for me that my undergrad school kept my grad school from playing for a national championship. -

I'm still trying to figure out how the Orange Bowl didn't get Alabama: 1) FSU and Auburn placed in the BCS Championship Game due to being ranked 1-2. 2) Stanford and MSU placed in Rose and Baylor placed in Fiesta due to being conference champions not ranked 1-2 with specific tie ins. 3) Because the Orange Bowl has an ACC tie-in, and they lost the #1 ranked team to the BCS Championship, they get the first "free" pick from remaining teams. I know the SEC has a tie-in with the Sugar Bowl, but the Orange Bowl has the right to pick Alabama and Alabama does not have the right to decline, so why would the Orange go for Ohio State over Alabama? Has everybody else become the SEC's b**** and just gives them everything they want? -
If I were Brooks Boyer I would refund money to everybody who paid money to see him absolutely suck as a college basketball player.

For just a moment forget pedigrees and conferences and strength of schedule. Can anybody who watched both teams play yesterday honestly say that Auburn will give FSU a better game than MSU would? -
There is a huge wind farm north of Lafayette. My kids absolutely love it. They are always asking me when we are going back to the "Land of the Giant Fans" Otherwise, it's an insanely boring part of the state. There is no beauty to ruin.

Actually, the Ala-LSU game is the only BCS Championship game I didn't watch, and this is coming from a guy who one year in college watched every single bowl game. -

Suing her isn't going to do any good because she's a college girl and probably has no money/assets. I do wonder if she follows through with her own suit if her attorney can be held liable for any damage to future earnings due to character assassination or whatever. -

Unless there's evidence we haven't been told about yet, that's going to go nowhere. -

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
cabiness42 replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So the fix for a franchise that sucks at drafting is to give away picks to sign expensive free agents, as opposed to getting better at drafting. -

This is exactly why Granderson should have accepted the Yankees offer. -

Granderson should have taken the Yankees offer. -
There's also a chance he gets none of it, plus the years of publicity of being in a high profile PED case.
