The Republican Thread
As a black man, I personally didn't have a problem with it. When you're a well known person, you're going to be scrutinized and made fun of. There are a ton of black actors who impersonate Obama. As a matter of fact, there were ton of actors who impersonated all the other presidents too. George W. Bush had his own show where they made an absolute mockery of him. I think people are personally making a mountain out of a mole hill. Also, both Republicans and Democrats suck. I just felt the need to say that.

THE WHITE SOX LOSE!!!
QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 03:51 PM) Despite all the evidence, I really can't believe the sox are THIS bad. I know I should root for the worst season ever but in practice, ugh, how could this be? Last year was a fluke. There isn't any other way to describe it.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) People who've been married for over 5 years understand and accept that there will be times where they feel like strangling their spouse. That's just surreal to me but I've never been married let alone been a relationship of over five years. That's some pretty scary s***. I would hope I never feel that way but I imagine that being together with someone for a long time will eventually lead to some animosity.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 11:09 AM) I'm having one of those "I'm 100% right, but for the sake of peace I need to be quiet" moments. Just because I love my spouse doesn't mean I like her all the time or can even stand her ass at certain moments. Awww s*** man. Sometimes you just got to be the bigger man.

Law question
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) Yea I'm in a smaller 2br as well, probably 850-900sqft, but its in a great area (Damen and Greenleaf). Super quiet over here, just a bit far from the L though. Damn dude. You live like a few blocks from me. I'm at Damen and Rogers. LMAO

Law question
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Damn that's cheap, the only ones I could find that were that cheap weren't rehabbed and were in bad shape. It's a relatively small 2BR, like 800 Sq. ft but it's not in the greatest area of Rogers Park. I haven't had any problems though.

Law question
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) Awesome Rock! I grew up there, definitely a good place to raise a family. One benefit to living in Rogers Park is the insanely cheap rent, our 2br got 'raised' to $1185 a month (from 1150). Most of my friends in River North-ish area pay close to that per person. I live in Rogers Park too. I pay $900 for a 2BR condo.

Law question
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) Wow, I wish we could get that much, but the rent we were able to get on our condos went up $150-$200 this year. There are rules as to what you can charge for rent?

Law question
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) 2 bedrooms are starting to go for 3k over here. Proximity to the beset restaurants in chicago, public trans and the highways are big pulls. Our building historically has been full of doctors doing their residency at Rush. 3K... wow just wow. I guess if people are willing to pay that much, go for broke.

Law question
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) LOL. I've had to sue a previous landlord back in the day for my security deposit back since he used it on upgrades due to "damage". Bulls*** artists, all of them. Side note: listed my place for rent yesterday for 2700 to see if anyone wanted to overpay, 4 people already called me. Crazy how high rent has gotten. No offense but why in the world do people pay those prices to live somewhere?

Law question
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) As a landlord in Chicago, I would just like to add that the landlord/tenant laws are a huge pile of horse manure. Elaborate? Rule of thumb. If they speaka no engrish, stay far far far away.

Studying to take the GRE exam.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) You're right. It's a standardized test, it's manageable. But also remember...the more you pretend to be intimidated going in, the more you're going to prepare. Even if you shouldn't be intimidated, if you really want a top level grad school or money from the school, whatever...you want to be overprepared. Of course preparation is the key for any test. I'm not saying to walk in there cold turkey, plop down, and expect to ace it. I just will put forth a adequate amount of time studying for it. I'm not pulling an all nighter like it's a final exam.

Studying to take the GRE exam.
I am taking the GRE this fall. I like this thread. My gut tells me I should be intimidated but it's a standardized test, how hard could it be.
