  1. DAMN, Stewart singles to Center and both Pierzynski and Hocking score with 0 out. 2-0 Twins in the top of the 6th.
  2. That hurts big time, could Florida lose any1 more influential than him. Maybe Willis or Redman I suppose.
  3. Thames K's swinging and Sadler ground out to third leaving Spencer stranded at 2nd. Still 0-0 entering the top of the 5th.
  4. Spencer doubles to right with 1 out. Santana's lookin a little shaky, Rangers gotta make him pay.
  5. I dunno how he continues to play hard day after day on this team. I suppose they had a 8 game winning streak? going last week before they came to U.S Cell. but the only way they're gonna get better if guys like Lewis, Dominguez and Dickey develop the way Webb and Willis have this year. I reckon the signing of Ho Park crippled this team more than A-Rod, at least he still plays every day.
  6. Rivas flies out to center, Mientkiewicz grounds out to Shoprtstop, and LecRoy K's Swinging still 0-0 at the top of the 4th. Callaway's actually pitching pretty good.
  7. They don't go to Arizona. After the Texas Series they play Arizona once at Kaufman Stadium on the 4th of September. We still got 2 crucial series' against them. Young just doubled to left center with 1 out, good chance for the Rangers to put one on the board early against Santana.
  8. I'll post inning by inning updates of the Twins vs Rangers game which has just started now. It got delayed by rain, and the KC vs Anaheim game got washed out and will be made up in a double header tomorrow i think. Anyways bottom of the 2nd now, and it's 0-0. Santana vs Callaway.
  9. I'm really lookin forward to Madden 2004 coming out in Australia but I'm not sure when that is. The Owner Mode sounds pretty sweet and the Gameplay is always good, but we never get the NCAA games down here which is annoying.
  10. I know there r probably many Blackhawk fans including myself on these boards, and finally Tuumo Ruutu has signed a 3 year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. Here's a link from blackhawkzone.com/news/028803.php By Frank Porcelli Date: 08/28/2003 Blackhawk fans will have a reason to smile on Thursday morning, as top prospect Tuomo Ruutu and the Blackhawks reached agreement on a three year contract late Wednesday night. This will mean that Ruutu will be in Chicago for the start of training camp All Blackhawk fans got some good news on Thursday morning, as it has been confirmed that 2001 first round draft pick Tuomo Ruutu has reached agreement on a contract with the Blackhawks. The deal was reached late Wednesday night and announced on Thursday morning. Terms of the deal are for the Blackhawks to know and for the rest of us to find out. The contract is a standard three year entry deal. As for the money, it is not the model contract, but signed something very similar to the model contract, according to Ruutu's Chicago based agent, Bill Zito. "I am pretty happy with the contract and I think that we got what we wanted." Zito told Blackhawkzone.com on Thursday morning. "Tuomo signed a novel contract and can make way more than the model deal". To say that this contract negotiation was interesting would be an understatement this summer, but lets say that both sides needed to do what they had to do to get this deal done. Ruutu will come to Chicago shortly and will be at training camp when it begins in two weeks. Ruutu was drafted by the Blackhawks in the first round of the 2001 entry draft and was ranked the top prospect by the Hockey News in their 2001-2002 Future Watch. He dropped to fourth last season. Ruutu scored 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 30 games last season with HIFK in Finland before a knee injury ended his season. Ruutu has been skating for two months and should be ready to go in two weeks when camp starts. "I feel so happy" Ruutu told Blackhawkzone.com on Thursday Morning. "It is great to be a part of the Blackhawks. I am speechless. I hope to come to Chicago and play tough and score some goals. I will try to be as flexible as possible. I love the physical game and I hope to play that type of game with the Blackhawks." When asked if the Blackhawks had told Ruutu whether he would play in Chicago or spend some time with the Admirals down in Norfolk, Ruutu stated that "They haven't told me anything. I want to play with the Blackhawks this season and this is my goal." "We're extremely happy to get Tuomo signed and in here before training camp to get his NHL career started," Blackhawks General Manager Mike Smith stated in a press release. "It took a while to come to an agreement with Tuomo. Working together, both sides found a way we both could live with. We're optimistic he is going to have a long and successful career as a Blackhawk." BlackhawkZone.com's Take I wonder if the Blackhawk ticket offices are going to be ringing today with some new ticket sales This is great news and I am sure that all Blackhawk fans are going to be very excited today. Now that all of the public negotiations are over, it will be time to see how Ruutu performs on the ice. Some fans are probably going to expect him to be a savior and I don't know how fair that is, especially for his first taste of North American Hockey. Ruutu may also have a bulls eye on his chest after everything that has gone on in the media. If I had to predict today, my guess would be that Ruutu has a job to lose in training camp, due to the Blackhawks lack of depth up the middle. What line he ends up on will likely depend on how he plays in camp and the early part of the season. I could see Ruutu starting on the third line and moving up to the second line if his play warrants it and he continues to improve and gets accustomed to North American Hockey. It is probably safe to say that the Blackhawks haven't had much attention on a rookie player since Jeremy Roenick was here and that will make the upcoming season somewhat bearable to watch. Personally I think this is great news any finally this pitiful organisation has allowed their fans to have something to actually look forward to for the coming season.
  11. If a guy who bats first walks, it helps ur chances or scoring so much. Plus if u work the pitcher his pitch count will get higher and higher like Colon's did.
  12. Robbie Alomar added Class, Hustle, Defense and most importantly a speed guy who can get on base consistently. He should teach every1 else how to bunt because he's a magician at it. To compare to Lazy D'Angelo is a crime against baseball, and a crime against Robbie himself.

    The Sox

I think this team is playing great baseball now because they have a point to prove. Just because we have the harder schedule doesn't mean this guys r just going to lie down and watch those STUPID TWINS AND ROYALS just coast into our 1st place. They're playing hard baseball and smart baseball, and it's great to watch. There's not 1 player u could really b**** about at the moment. 8 out of the last 9, let's keep it up the rest of the way home.
  14. The Sep. 3 game against Boston is the one on ESPN Wedneday Night Baseball, right? I hope so cos I really wanna see Buerhle pitch.
  15. Yeah exactly my sentiments. We can't afford to go from pitching and hitting great in New York, to not putting any runs on the board against the Tigers and wasting great pitching performances which we have done over there this year. One slip up in any series to come and it could come back to haunt us.
  16. Oh well, I thought I heard that on ESPN on Baseball Tonight or Sportscenter. But's he been great this month, and I still think Maggs can pick it up a little as well. He's been good, but I still think he can go to the next level and really be the catalyst towards the postseason.
  17. Yeah even though the Twins r our biggest danger, does anyone get the feeling that the Royals aren't going to go away so easily? Their hitting is carrying that team and well stranger things have happened in baseball. U never know. But yeah the Sox have played well in August. I think Frank has been the key as he's hit sumthin like 14 or 15 homers this month and he must be considered for MVP if the Sox win the division. He's been a big part of that.
  18. Mientkiewicz is out, and that's an ANGELS WINNER!!! TWINS LOSE, TWINS LOSE!!!
  19. Rivas flies out to right, 2 out.
  20. Stewart singles to right.
  21. Percival in, Guzman flies out to center, 1 out. Just 2 more to go.
  22. Mike Ryan pinch hits for Hocking and K's to end the inning. Pheeew!!
  23. Bases Loaded for the Twins, 2 out in the top of the 8th off Donnelly. Denny Hocking batting, big at bat here.
  24. SCOTT SPIEZIO!!!! Go u good thing. Homers to right now Angels up 5-4, 2 outs, Wooten just walked.
  25. Colon only pitches great when it's a big game. When he pitches in a game that doesn't really count for much, he looks like he doesn't give a damn out there.
