Carlos absolutely teared da cover of the ball to on that homer. What a way to bring up 100RBI's for the first time ever in his career. It's great to see players just grow and develop into studs, firstly like Maggs did and now what Carlos is doin.

I saw da highlights on SportsCenter of the Twinkies belated 9th Inning Comeback because of stupid Panigua. They didn't show his obscene gesture to the umpire either, hmm what a shame. Anyways when u got Flash Gordon throwing 99mph fastballs to strike out Cuddyer swinging instead of Billy Botch chucking up curveballs that get smashed by Jacque Jones, it shows how important a dominant closer is. That's why I think L.A could win it all IF they make da playoffs, that bullpen is nasty.

Let's hope Jon keeps the momentum going so we can put yet another nail in da Twinkies coffin. Correct he's made 3 quality starts, but until he really performs in big, huge important games like this 1 he's always gonna have us fans wondering whether Jon or Judy is gonna show up. I think that type of criticism he gets is pretty unwarranted cos I know LOTS of teams would luv to hav Jon Garland into their rotation, including St. Louis who enquired about him when he was struggling early in da year. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and think we're instantly gonna get a sweep. Santana's hard to hit and Jon will have to be at da top of his game for us to be in with a show. Da Twinkies could win da last 2 games of this series and we could be back dead even with them. At least we all know now that the Royals r dead and buried. How do u like that Joe what his face (Stupid K.C Writer)

Hmm, I know for a while they would possibly put Matsui into 2nd and move Soriano into Left, but Alfonso has made sure that's never gonna happen and I don't blame him. He'd be losing a lot of value by moving.

Let's hope Crede gets a clutch hit here with Carlos on 2nd. He's been great in the 2nd half so far. -

Yeah I use cbs.sportsline all the time at home, it's really good with the pitch location, but here at school the network and connection we hav here is so slow it takes ages to reload pitch by pitch so my best bet is PBP here on soxtalk. Good start by Buerhle, let's hope he keeps it up. -

Hmm Jose's getting the night off, I assume this Pulido guy is a lefty therefore Tony G gets the nod. Konerko and Jurassic Carl move down a spot for Lee in the 5 hole. Gomes gets the nod at 2nd instead of Hocking for da Twinkies. -
Here's what Gammons thought about our bullpen, sorry if this has been posted already. "Meanwhile, one AL scout adds, "getting Scott Sullivan in front of Damaso Marte -- the most underrated reliever in the American League -- and Tom Gordon gives the White Sox potentially the best bullpen of any American league playoff team, if they make it in." GM Ken Williams got Marte in April, 2002 for Matt Guerrier. Then since the end of last season added Colon, Esteban Loaiza, Gordon, Sullivan and Scott Schoeneweis, a pitching staff that could win everything." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1612352 Also hae had some potentially bad news for Twinkie fans if they do not make the postseason "If the Twins do not finish first, considering their attendance is down and their payroll for next season is already at $50 million (presuming they offer arbitration to A.J. Pierzynski, Doug Mientkiewicz, Luis Rivas, Johan Santana and J.C. Romero), there are those in the area who worry that ownership will demand they slash back to the $40-million level." Let's hope we drive another nail into their coffin tonight.

I'll be watching the game at School once again as per usual in one of my Spares, and hopefully the guys can bring it once again against this new guy Pulido. Usually when I do watch the game the White Sox usually win, so let's hope that streak continues. 7-4 White Sox, with Lee and Frank Homering. -
Down here in Australia, It was about 10:40 p.m local time when the terrible tragedies of September 11 occurred. My birthday is actually on September 11 which is 2 days from now, and it is really hard for me to celebrate last year when every1 was remembering and they had the memorial services and eveything. It's sumtimes hurtful when ppl who know me go up to me and say "Hey ur birthday is on the terrorist day isn't it". I have no views on the war on Iraq whether or not the troops should have not gone or not, but lots and lost of ppl down here think that our Prime Minister John Howard "Little Johnny" is nothing more than George Bush's lapdog. But I think the Bali bombings affected more ppl down here than what Sep 11 did cos many Aussies were killed in the Sari Nightclub when the bomb went off.

Damn looks like I'm not in da standings for Week 1, oh well, hopefully u guys can count me for the upcoming weeks anyways in I actually get my tips in on time.
-
I'll drink to that, Let's sweep da Twinkies.
-
I saw da thread U've come a long way baby, and I instantly thought of the CD by Fatboy Slim that had the guy (dunno if he was fat or slim) on the cover. Maybe Bartolo "gooboy, fartolo, krispy kreme #1 customer, or Jabba the hut(whatever u want to call him)" could have been on instead. Seriously though when it's a big game the guy delivers. We've all seen that in da last 3 games. Just don't make him pitch to a team under .500 or ur asking for trouble.
-
I wonder how much Joe payed Rob to say that and show him a little bit of luv. I bet he won't write 1 more story on the Royals this season, and it will just be all Chiefs, Chiefs and Chiefs, the new Super Bowl fav's in this idiot's eyes.
-
Let's hope Cy Loaiza can pick up his 20th and most deserved victory against the Twinkies.
-
Yeah baseball is the only this town has going for it at da moment, if u have a look at da state of the nfl and nhl teams that they hav. But every1 round here knows who da better baseball team is anyways, we all know the cubs r gonna choke and give up their division.
-
Yeah I can't see how Minny is gonna give up da Central if we don't win this series. With our big 4 up, we should be preparing for a sweep, not hoping for 1.
-
At least Ruutu gives us Blackhawk supporters something to look forward to finally, and Vorobiev as well. Let's hope Smitov's Russians can bring it to da big leagues.
-
Damn I forgot to put my picks in, Oh well. Here were mine anyways from another board that I post on. Washington Detroit Pittsburgh Denver Miami Indianipolis Carolina Minnesota Buffalo Kansas City St. Louis Dallas (go Da Boys!!!!) San Franscisco Seattle Tennessee Tampa Bay Looks like I got 12 out of 15 so far excluding the Bucs - Eagles game tomorrow night. Can I still put in my tips for the upcoming weeks?
-
How u go from a team that was 12-4 2 seasons ago to the 1 that lost to da 49ers today beats the hell out of me. Honestly, even though Miller was coming back from an injury, u guys should have kept him instead Stewart who was cut from Pittsburgh for obvious reasons. Every1 knows Jauron and his staff and gonna get canned for that LSU guy Saban? for 04. Anyways, my Boys didn't start of the season well either losing to the Vick-less Falcons. Parcells will turn this team around if we can get a pass rush and some pressure up the middle. I'm glad he gave Quincy another chance though instead of Chad "no idea what I'm doing in da pocket" Hutchison. But it looks like these 2 teams could have top 5 picks again in da off - season.
-
Don't forget Wright and Garland won most of their games last year in September. Garland looks good again finally coming through on that potential of his, and Wright with a quality start did his job as well. I think he's our no. 5 for da moment, and then he should be moved into da pen next year.
-
Honestly Sully has only been here for about 2 weeks and most of u guys r already giving up on him as our right handed setup man. He wouldn't have made over 70 apps for da Reds in the 2 or 3 years if he wasn't any good. Remember he got the key strikeout in the 7th against Boston on the ESPN game, but the Marte should have been brought in to face Ortiz afterwards. Don't forget Schowenweis looked really bad when we 1st got him, and now he's lookin better. I think Sully will be da same as well, he's got some quality off speed pitches.
-
At least they (da bullpen) got the job done today against Cleveland. Schoewenweis picked up the win by getting 2 outs and hopefully he continues to settle in and improve. Marte (damn this guy is good, best lefty setup man in the league?(maybe Rhodes)) and Flash Gordon r pretty much automatic in the 8th and 9th, so our bullpen has got to do the job until then. Where has Wunsch been lately anyways?
-
I doubt Colon's gonna be back especially at 9 mil, he'd only come back if he continutes his recent great pitching through the playoffs. I read in an article this week that we might go after Livan Hernandez cos JM is familiar with him from those Florida days. Our rotation would then look like this next year, Buerhle Loaziza Garland Hernandez Wright, Cotts or Schowenweis? I think Robbie will be back cheap cos he wants to be in a pennant race and we can offer him that here, $3 Mil sounds pretty resasonable, and Valentin should probably come back for that much as well, maybe less if we can rework his deal. The only JR brings back these players is if we make the playoffs and win a series otherwise we could see another spring cleanout in da works and build around younger players like Cleveland's doin.
