    Tony G

Found this on Foxsports.com Baseball Inside Dish from Ken Rosenthal. The Indians plan to pursue an offensive-minded second baseman such as the Red Sox's Todd Walker, a potential free agent, to compete with Brandon Phillips next season. The White Sox's Tony Graffanino would be another possibility, but White Sox G.M. Ken Williams says he is "dead set" on retaining him. . . . I wonder how much it will take to lock him up?

    Sad night

Let's hope Jon Garland has sumthin to say bout all this, and maybe he can actually get some run support for once as well.
  3. Ok so he needs 42 AB's to trigge that option. Graff ain't with da team for the series against Minny, So Jose is likely to play the next 2 games against Minny. So that eliminates Rogers. So he'll have bout 6 to 8 AB's for the next 2 games, which will bring down that trigger to 34 AB's. With bout 10 games after that, I don't think he'll get it either since we prob. won't make da playoffs. He'd hav to play every game to probably get it, and I can't see that happening, especially against LH pitching.

    Optimism only

Jon Garland, this is the most important game of your short career and could make u or break u in the eyes of us Sox Fans, so how bout u just
  5. Yeah I was reading the article about an hour ago. It's worrying to think of the consequences if we don't win da division. Colon and Everett won't be back, and one of Lee, Robbie and Paulie would prob have to go as well to cut payroll. Betta make it count his year guys!!!
  6. I expect a big game from Loaiza against da Twinkies. I think he knows how important it is for da team and for himself to get over that 20 wins hump. Let's hope he gets that cutter goin for strikes.
  7. Hmm out of all those guys who would u say is most important to resign? Here's my list 1) Loaiza, no doubt he'll be back on that $3-4Mil Option. 2) Colon, if he keeps that recent hot streak of his goin, he'll be in very heavy demand. I'd offer his 3 years, round $25 to $28 million, but somehow I think da Yanks will offer 4 years for bout $40 mill with Clemens and Wells goin from that rotation. 3) C. Lee, One of the most underrated players in da league, I hope he's back but if JR cuts da budget, I don't think he'll be back. 4) Robbie - It'd be great to see him back next year, I'd give him 1 year with a club option for a 2nd year. I think he wants to be back because of being in a playoff race and being with his brother so we could save a few bucks on that. 5) Buerhle - Deserves to be resigned to a long term deal, and he might take it this year after his terrible start. Props to him for fighting back well though. 6) Everett - Luv the enthiuasm and toughness this guy brings to da park every night but I think we got more important needs bf we think bout resigning this guy. 7) Jose - I wanna go after Kaz Matsui, the merchadising and ticket sales alone would be a huge boost, but if that ain't possible, we bring back Jose for about $2-3 Mil. He's gotta improve his average to at least .250 though.
  8. At least the guy wants to pitch, and I think it's great him and MB have gone out on a limb thinking they should have pitched when JM has given da job to some1 else. It shows that they want da ball in their hand in a big situation, and it's great to see that especially from 2 young guys who will hopefully be with this club for the rest of their careers.
  9. Yeah there were some interesting results today. The 1 that shocked me da much was Tennessee vs Indy and Carolina vs TB. I'm hoping the da Boys can put a serious ass kicking on Shockey and da Giants tomorrow. Go Da Boys!!!
  10. On another thread bf I saw that some1 said that DJ's numbers in Cinci were slightly better than Robbie's with da Sox. That is the craziest thing I've heard this year as a Sox Fan. Robbie brings character, leadership, a vereran influence, some1 who can actully BUNT, and some Swagger. All DJ brings is a pillow for when he takes nights off lying down in the Infield.
  11. On any other team Marte would be a gun closer. I think he's the most underrated reliever in the game at da moment. Gordon's gonna earn a big fat paycheck closing for some team next year, I think he'll go to da Phillies with Mesa prob on his way out.
  12. Since there's 13 games left, and conveniently we're goin to Minny, how bout some1 takes that Black Cat that ran onto da field at da Cell last year? We don't enough any more bad luck and it's bout time da Twinkies had some.
  13. I was so impressed with Mark Buerhle today. I mean the guy was well below his best, even he knew it, and he only gives up 2 runs against maybe the best hitting team in the league. Early on in the season he would have got litten up. At 2-10, we were all wondering what da hell happened to him. But now he's won 11, and only lost 3 since and of course the team has been playing great as well. I mean we all know how important, Lee, Frank and Maggs r, but I think the real key to our resurgance has been Buerhle. Since he's pitched good, we've played great, and it's great to have him pitch well again.

    DAMNIT!!!

Damnit, I just checked my new car bf (Honda Prelude, bout 9 p.m) and I've discovered that some idiot has stolen the red H logos on the back and front of my car. I am really pissed off right now!!!!
  15. Of course we're gonna have ups and downs supporting this team cos we're a streaky team. One week we can beat any1, and the next we can lose to the lowly Tiggies. So u gotta take da good with the bad, and there's definiently been more good than bad this season, unless u think coming 81-81 with guys like DJ and Ritchie is any good.
  16. I saw from Jayson Stark's Rumblings and Grumblings that in a poll of all General Managers at least 1 picked da White Sox to win da World Series. The other teams were the Braves, Giants, Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox, and Mariners. WHITE SOX: This is the hottest team going right now. Best record in baseball since the All-Star break (33-17). Averaging six runs a game and two homers a game since the break. Third in the league in starters' ERA (4.09), even though their fifth starters have exactly three wins in 24 starts. Third in the league in overall ERA. But five games under .500 against contenders outside their division. And the worst road record of any contender (11 games under .500 on the road, vs. 23 over at home). "Dangerous team," says one GM. "They've got three real good starters and a good back end of the bullpen, even though they have no true closer. And they've got a dangerous lineup. My concerns would be bullpen depth, major questions on defense, and a lack of true cohesiveness and makeup." Another GM seconds that sentiment, saying: "The only thing I don't like is, I just don't trust that cast of characters." Hmm would a lack of coheviseness and makeup be the mangers fault? Also no-one picked da Twins (too many holes), and Royals (shaky rotation and too many holes) Personally I think the Giants r da team to beat although they really should have won it last year. Also, the stat that scares me the most is that Chicago is 5 games under .500 against contenders outside their division. That can't be a good sign going into October.
  17. Only Mulder's pitched more complete games this year than Bartolo. U gotta say that's impressive. He could quite easily have won a few more games too such as the San Fran. game where he gave up about 5 runs? in the 9th and the Boston game where he got no run support despite throwing a perfect game. I mean he must be good if he won 10 games pitching for Cleveland last year, and then 10 games for the Expos. Mulder would prob be da 1 pitcher I'd want on this team though. Chicago native, lefty, young, nasty splitter as well.

    C'mon!

At least we're actually in a pennant races for da 1st time since 2000. And our chances of actually doing some in da postseason r great with a 3some of Colon, Loaiza and Buerhle pitching. We just need to score some more runs against Minny, then we did against Boston, and da last 2 games of the 1st Minny Series.
  19. 4 Weeks ago, there was no way I would have wanted Bartolo to stay with da White Sox. I'd just rather get da 2 drafts picks for him. But da way he's pitching now, I think u just gotta bring him back. He throws so many complete games which help da bullpen so much, and those fastballs of his r nasty. 9 Mil, 3 years, hope u r listening Reinsdorf. Just don't let him go to da Yanks.
  20. Does any1 else think that if we stick with a 5 man rotation and Wright doesn't get another start, could Schoenweis be given a go for da 5th starter. I know KW said when we got him that he would contend for it in spring training, but y not give him a go now?

    Twins LOSE

It'd be great if we win da division for 2 reasons da 1st obivously being we're in da playoffs, but the 2nd is that Minny's got problems if they don't make it. Attendance has been down at da Dome this year, and the owner (Pohlad?) will want to cut payroll, so guys like Jones and Guzman will prob. go. But Rob Neyer thought that da Twins would win da division next year IF da White Sox do not resign Bartolo Colon. Interesting. Da Tribe r in spoiler mode right now, and their young guys r gonna keep playing hard.
  22. I think after tonite, we've got no choice but to go to a 4-man rotation. Plenty of guys have come in here and tried to win da 5th starters job, (Cotts, Wright, Stewart etc.) but none of them have shown that they r up to it. When u talk about biggest dissapointments this year I think u hav to consider Dan Wright as well. I mean this guy won about 15 games last year I think, and this year he's only won 1. If he pitched da same as he did last year, we've got a great rotation. Although he's had injuries as well, so u hav to take that into consideration.
  23. Hmm I wonder if reputation had anything to do with Mauer beating Reed. I mean Reed has had a better year than Mauer no doubt, but because Joe's a no. 1 draft pick, ppl will expect him to be good based on that fact alone.
