  1. What were Whisler's final numbers down in Charlotte again? Clevelan Santeliz would be a surprise I would have thought.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 12:49 PM) I still don't have a facebook and I'm proud of that fact. Boo for you then Towelly.
  3. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 07:56 AM) If Tallon trades Buf for Nylander.. as much as I like Nylander...Tallon needs to be run out of town or worse..WTF could he be thinking if he did that? Plus Nylander's got what 2 years left on his deal? Don't really see the difference b/w Nylander and Lang to be honest. Both soft European centers who aren't good at all defensively.
  4. To be fair, Sopel was arugbly our most consistent defender last season behind Keith, and this season he's gone to s***. But it would be nice to have his contract off the books ATM. And I think Buff is a little overpaid at 3M a season also. Just shows how desperate the Hawks are for a power forward I guess.
  5. Funny how Deng has lost all value ATM currently. FWIW, if I was a team like Portland, I'd be making a run at him, but then again, they could just target Hedo instead, who's probably an all around better player.
  6. Dinner should still be on him. He's making enough $$$$ to cover for it.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) How far away is the Grand Canyon? It's about a 3-4 hour drive north from Phoenix. Definitely can be done in a day if you leave early enough.
  8. I think drafting Noah over Hawes right now looks like a mistake also. I think Gooden is a decent enough fit for the Bulls at the 4, but they really need a good defensive big such as a Dalembert next to him.
  9. He's a keeper Jessica, better not screw this one up.

    QUOTE (MO2005 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) If you read correctly, it says team...not lineup That's the importance of reading thoroughly Well then; 1 - You've only got 10 players in your "TEAM" then. 2 - How much do you want to give Varitek to be our backup catcher for our team?

    You had Varitek and Pierzynski in the same lineup also.
  12. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) Actually, no. This is about a guy in our league who drafted Howard 20 spots to high. Obviously, in reality Howard is a top 10 player. But in fantasy he is somewhere between 20-30. Ahh my bad. But yes Dwight's a killer in TO's and FT%. You can pretty much say goodbye to that categories with him in your team.
  13. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) Like Dwight Howard I kid , I kid. I'll give Howard 4 cats. Are you trying to get under my skin again ranger? Actually since you called Orlando average, I think we've won about 6 out of 7 (albeit we've had a pretty soft schedule thus far).
  14. I saw this posted in Puck Daddy's Chat today FWIW;
  15. Bottom line is, the place should have been shut down a lot earlier, and pretty much all of the prisoners should have been sentenced or at least put through trials already. Australia had a guy in there, and it was only because we pressured the USA for 5 years, that he was one of the 1st to be trialled, and got sent home, and he's now living in society back down under.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) It would. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...p;te=&cash= Problem is from the Warriors' perspective, they've already got a backup scrapper bigman in Ronny Turiaf, so I don't know if they would want Noah (and Nelson would probably want someone with a better shooting ability). I think something could be worked out though, and I do really rate Wright as a prospect.
  17. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Hinrich for Morrow in a perfect world. Then Gordon would be expendable. Would the Bulls do Brandon Wright and say Harrington for Noah and Hinrich? Don't know if that would work cap wise however.

    QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) He has a career .773 OPS. And Swisher had what a .743 OPS in 2008 FWIW. For a bench replacement (and Hinske has had season where he's hit over .800 OPS a few times, and you have to remember he'd be moving to a friendly hitting environment), the Sox could do a lot worse. And he could backup Fields at third base also (but you've got Betemit to do that I guess).

    QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) If we go with 12 pitchers again like most of last year, that will only leave us with 4 bench slots. We need a C (Armstrong?), a UT player (Betemit), and a back-up OF (Anderson or Wise), so that leaves us with one spot left. Instead of adding a bat like Hinske I would prefer we add a defensive-minded SS who can also cover 2B, someone better than Betemit. I doubt we get that though, because if we sign Viciedo or someone else to compete with Fields and that player makes the team, or if the Sox don't pick an everyday 2B between Nix and Getz and opt for a platoon instead, we've basically got Viciedo/somebody else, Fields, Nix, and Getz for 3 spots. Either way I doubt we pick up another bench player unless he's a catcher. The backup OF could maybe be Hinske, but then you'd have to acquire a CF, who'd have to be good enough in CF to play pretty much everyday (unless you moved Ramirez there for example for a few games). Could all depend on whether we go with 11 or 12 pitchers like you said.
  20. Yeah the Nylander acquisition doesn't make sense for me. They shipped out Lang, and I hate to say it, but Nylander is very comparable to him. Build around the youth FFS.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 02:17 PM) Yeah, it's been 2 games. Nellie will have him playing 4 minutes in no time. Funny how Harrington's in the doghouse and they're already looking to move Maggette. All that team needs is a decent enough PG, and they could actually do something considering the glut of talented swingmen they have and Biedrins dominating in the post. I think they're going to try Ellis at PG first though.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) In a thread filled with Bulls fans, complaining about bigs when you have Dwight Howard on your team is NOT going to fly well. Touche. I'd love to have Battie's off the books (6-7M for the next 2 seasons), so I'm hoping a team that wants to clear cap space would love to have that contract before the 2010 off-season. If only Fran Vazquez decided to come over. And the Ariza for Cook and Evans doesn't really look good from our perspective now. Safe to say, Cook's definitely in SVG's doghouse. Actually I wonder if Miami would be interested in a Battie deal with Redick going over also, for Haslem + something, and the Magic throwing in a 1st rounder? Would help them clear cap-space to re-sign Wade in 2010.
  23. Some in the organization wanted Cora apparently, but as was previously said, Wakamatsu's sabermatric approach made him the ideal fit for the new M's GM. Joey will get a job one day I'm sure.

    Here were his numbers from last season FWIW; .247/.333/.465 .798 OPS.
