  1. QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 25, 2008 -> 11:14 AM) I'm not talking about deserving to start. I'm pointing out he has a great shot to start because of voting. Yeah you're probably right (not that it makes it right). Still someone like Vince Carter could still steal his thunder though. Still it reminds me of when Grant Hill got in back in 1995.
  2. I've had flu symptons for about a week, but nothing major that I can't handle. I always cough up a lot of mucus in the morning (disgusting I know, but I can't help it), which is probably the worst thing for me currently.
  3. Joe Johnson should definitely get in considering he's having a good year in scoring so far, and that the Hawks are actually a pretty good team ATM. Devin Harris' numbers are fantastic also for a PG, with 23PPG and a 3:1 A/TO ratio. I'd say both deserve to get in before Rose currently, but fan voting is a wonderful thing. Ray Allen is another guy to consider with fan voting also.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 24, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) It was unseasonably cold over the weekend. It's not always that bad. Yeah it was in New York apparently also. A bit worrying that it's this cold this early, think it's going to be a bad winter.
  5. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 24, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) Vitamin E gel, or medicated lip balm. Vitamin E gel is expensive, but it works quick Thanks, I'll try some of that tonight. Safe to say, I'm not exactly used to cold temperatures.
  6. The Review sounded pretty good, I'll have to watch it on Hulu.
  7. Another coach bites the dust. Eddie Jordan's been given the pink slip after a 1-10 start. He can thank Ernie Grunfeld for giving out a MAX deal to Gilbert Arenas though coming off major knee surgery.
  8. Crosby's making what $5M next season? Rather use that sort of money on someone better.
  9. I'm going up to Vermont for Thanksgiving to go skiing. Renting a big house with 14 other people, and all of the girls will be cooking. So long as there is Turkey, I'll be happy.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) Lemme know how that trip went Trip was good. Was absolutely freezing on the Saturday, we walked from South Station to Quincy Market at Fanueli Hall and had some lunch (New England Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl). Then we walked to Beacon Hill, looked in the Cheers Pub, went to another pub, and then back to our accomodation on Hemenway. Then we went out to some bars around Fenway, and ended up in the city centre and in a few bars then. Actually was talking to a guy at the bar at 1 place about American Sports for 2 hours, even if he was a Cubs fan. Yesterday, we went to Havard in the morning, and then yesterday afternoon we were going to go to the Boston Tea Party Museum, until we found out that it was burnt down a few years ago. Oops. I liked the city, but it was just WAY too cold for me there. Would like to go back in the Summertime.
  11. I got some really chapped lips over the weekend thanks to freezing temperatures in Boston. Anyone know of a good cure?

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 11:34 PM) Great Finale. It saved the season for me in some respects. The scene where Vince throws the phone was the best acting by any actor on the show, not named Jeremy Piven. Adrien Grenier is usually a little blah, but he rocked that scene. The scene with turtle and jamie-lynn at the end of the episode was absolutely priceless. Agreed. Some of the best comedy spots all season, and the ending with Scorsese. I thought E was going to tell Vince no at the end actually. Will be interesting to see the boys in New York next summer.
  13. QUOTE (Fantl916 @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) just my quick two cents... if we trade Jenks and Javy for Pelfrey, D. Murphy, and F. Martinez i'm going to carve a KW statue myself. I dont care how much you love the current production of Javy and Jenks... Closers are replaceable and Javy is a mess in high pressure... Pelfrey can be a legit top of the rotation/Derek Low type, Daniel Murphy can be a huge addition because he's the IDEAL #2 hitter, and we can play him at 2b/3b/LF which gives us versatility that Ozzie loves, and F. Mart - no matter what you think of the guy - has superstar potential and is only 19... this would be a huge haul for Kenny. ABSOLUTELY HUGE... not to mention the cost savings... Yep I'd be downright giddy if we could pull that one off.
  14. That's the way Don Nelson likes it. Jack it up guards who can push the pace. Definitely like the trade from the Knicks perspective though, but for their sake, hopefully it won't hinder Chandler's development. If they pulled off the Thomas and Mobley for Randolph deal also, they'd have 2 more expiring contracts for the 2010 off-season, Mobley would play at SG, Thomas off the bench jacking up 3's, and Lee at C. Donnie Walsh doing a very nice job so far (besides the Gallinardi pick, but still that's way too early to tell).
  15. There was a good point made in this article also;
  16. Citi's share price is collapsing ATM. Crisis meeting being held b/w the CEO and his execs this afternoon, break up of the business could very well be the outcome.
  17. If you could get Crawford, Davis and a couple more prospects for Jenks and Dye, would you make that move?
  18. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 12:44 PM) Haha. I've really lost all my talking points on Soxtalk. Liriano isn't even Liriano, we've recognized problems within the minor league system (Wilder, poor drafting philosophy), and if this signing is any indication we hold a significant advantage over other major league clubs in atleast one Latin American country. I'm sure I'll find something else to annoy everyone with. I think at least now compared to a few seasons ago, KW and co. have recognised the need to get younger, and bring in impact guys both in the farm system and at the major league level. If we hold a competitive advantage in Cuba compared to other teams, then let's exploit it the most we can. Hopefully, our Latin America operations can improve based on what we're doin in Cuba and the impact that Ramirez and Viciedo will have.
  19. So is Viciedo our Liriano Flash?
  20. QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) I do not think scenario would appreciate that. Ahhh but you left out the most important word from my sentence.
  21. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) A package of Davis and Jackson seems eerily similar to Floyd and Gio... The only way I think you can jutsify acquiring Jackson is if you traded Vazquez first, and we don't know whether that's going to happen ATM. At least with Davis, you can stick him in AAA for 2009, and call him up if you need to.

We're basically staying on Hemenway Street right near Fenway in the Back Bay area. I imagine we'll probably want to stick pretty close to that area. So will definitely check out the places on Lansdowne Road. EDIT: Anywhere that you can recommend to eat for dinner round that area also?
  23. I'd much rather Davis over Jackson considering the time Jackson has served in the majors. I still think we should offer Dye to the Dodgers to try and get Kemp possibly though (if they don't re-sign Manny).
  24. There's other Rays' pitching prospects I'd much rather have than Niemenn. I don't think he projects to be anything more than a back-end rotation starter (which means he's probably perfect for KW then).
  25. QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) I'm sure that Heads could come up with much creepier ways to hit on the ladies. Somewhere there's a joke with Iowa, Tornado and Cows that can be worked into the scenario here.
