0-2. Good start Jonny.

Cautiously Optimistic
We gotta beat up on Detroit just as we did at the start of this month. 3 or 4 games won there, could be absolutely crucial when it's all said and done.

Joe Crede and Juan Uribe
Crede - .419/.486/.839 this month, a 5/4 K/BB ratio this month, while his OPS is up to .743 after last night, a career high for him, and actually quite serviceable for a third baseman, especially one that's better defensively. I think he'll be back next season, with Mueller joining a team like the Twins. Crede's come home nicely since the all - star break, being a notorious 2nd half hitter with a .773 OPS and hitting .255. But another suprising stat, in day games .203/.255/.413 while in night games, .271/.327/.457. The Sox need to get the likes of Ozuna or Blum next season playing in the 3rd game of a series, which usually takes place during the day a lot more, if this trend continues. Uribe - .369/.423/.800 this month. Post All Star splits of .276/.336/.476 with an OPS of .812. He too hits a lot better in night games, with a .87 difference in his average. And he's come around at home too now, hitting .248 with a better slugging percentage than in away games.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) We need this game BADLY. Can't let them come in here and take 2 of 3. It would be a huge shot in the arm if the Sox could get these last 2 games. Especially with the Indians playing Kansas City and we're up against Minny. Most likely the Tribe are probably going to get a game back on us over that series, so victory tomorrow is crucial.

The Rally Crede
Let's hope Joe can keep performing well under the watchful eye of his Rally Master.

So what did you do when Crede homered
I pumped my fist, let out a big sigh of relief, and just said "Thank you Rally Crede, thank you".

Real big chance to take the series tomorrow. Even though Elarton's been better lately, if he's not in a big ballpark, he's very subscepitble to giving up the long ball. We've swung the bat a lot better in the last 2 days and hopefully we can keep that going, while JG can do what he did in Minny. Very important to get the 4.5 game lead again, and to get that magic number down further.

Bobby Jenks
QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Personally I'd like to see Politte get some shots at closing. He's been pretty much lights out all year and as good as Jenks has been and how good i think he'll be, it does worry me how he's performed the last two days. Hopefully it was just cuz he was a little overused recently I think Politte showed in June / July when he was given a chance in the 9th, that he just wasn't as effective. He seems to be getting back to where he was earlier in the year even though he gave up 2 bloop singles today, so he should still be the main 8th inning guy IMHO.

Bears Vs Bengals
Don't the Bengals have 2 rookie LB's in Pollack and Thurman starting for them? Could be something for the Bears to exploit, if only they actually had a good TE.

Bobby Jenks
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Wagner... and it really doesn't matter because chances are he will sign with some team out of the blue and we will both be wrong. From what I've read, the Mets are DESPERATE for a new good closer to replace Looper. The Cards have Isringhausen, so they'd probably wouldn't offer as much as the Mets, especially with Piazza's contract coming off the books.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Bet you the cardinals. For who, Ryan or Wagner?

QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) I want BJ Ryan New York Yankees Setup Man for Mariano Rivera for the next 3 seasons at least. Realistically, Wagner's headed to the Mets, so we're most likely stuck with Hermy / Jenks for 06, which isn't a bad thing considering other teams' closers at the moment.
