QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) Says the man who wanted Micah Schnurstein promoted to Bham if Fields wasn't in the way. :rolly Well Micah's gone from low A to high A, while Young's gone from low A to AA. I guess Jason and I just like Micah a little more than other people.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) Nah I was talking about Rowand. I figured that, a little too late. Hopefully he can keep hitting and pick up some power along the way.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) I believe Bryan Berard will also be back... Oh ya, forgot about him, he'll be needed to make sure our power play is at a higher level than brutal. -
Konerko's awful, why is he still in the team? A.J just hits for power, why is he still in the team? We suck at hitting doubles and triples, our offense sucks!!! OOPS, sorry we won. My bad.

A month or 2 ago, people were calling for upgrades at 3B and SS as the main problem areas. Now it seems Uribe has become the main target for criticism in the Sox lineup, which at least shows Joe has picked it up offensively.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 05:59 AM) I don't know, I just think that repeating after a monster season sends a negative message. And don't let my sig fool you. I just like Adam Ricks, nothing towards his status as a prospect. It's his first season about low A ball, I'd too like to see Young repeat AA for at least a month or 2 next season, although I know you like to move prospects up quicker than us Dan.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Yep -- really wouldn't help them win games one bit. If he came cheap, and would be willing to get #5/#6 d-man minutes, that's fine. I think he could be a good mentor for young kids coming up like Keith, Babchuk, Seabrook, etc etc. If he wants more minutes/lots of cash? No thanks. Keith since you seem to be the resident Hawks expert around here, what is our D corps going to end up being ATM, and is Cam Barker a chance of filling a spot? So far I have Vandermeer, Cullimore, McCarthy, Keith, Seabrook and the 6th spot wide open. -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Um is it just me or is Utah getting raped Ostertag will be effective for the Jazz as a center unlike Okur, who should come off the bench. Snyder hasn't been given much of a chance, but I don't rate Lopez or Borcahrdt very highly, so I'd probably say no, but we'll have to wait and see how those kids do.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) So that basicly means Duhon is ours now right? I'd say so, Bulls have offered him 6 million over 3 years according to the Daily Herald. Dooling is 6'3 and the Nets really wanted him, so I'm quite happy we got someone who's bigger than 6'0 as a PG/SG at least.

Joe Crede has hit .275 or over in 3 of the 4 months this season so far. Some food for thought. He also has an OPS over .820 in each of those months.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Chelios? That's been rumored, but from what I've heard the Hawks need 2 top 6 forwards, especially a #1 center. Pavol Demitra seems to be a popular pick, and the Hawks have a lot of good young quality D-men already. -

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) If JP is smart, he'll pack it in. He's got three teams above him in the AL East, two of which are NY and Boston. If he gets past both of them, he's still got the O's to worry about. The odds are too long for the Jays this year. I don't think J.P's going to be doing that, unless he gets really wowed by a deal. The Jays have new owners, and payroll is going to increase by 20 to $30 mill in the next 2 to 3 seasons. They're a team I can see having an interest in Paul Konerko however IF they can re-sign him to a long - term deal.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 05:55 AM) When I assumed that Russ Ortiz woudl have a better year than the board favorite Jarret Wright. But most here don't see this, they see what they want and state that I wanted Russ Ortiz on this team... How many people here actually wanted Jaret Wright?

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) I know, I know. I have no clue how he didn't swing at the 0-2 pitch. It's called clutch hitting, something that we've been damn good at this season.

Wakefield had been struggling late in the games he's started recently, we were bound to get on him eventually.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) AJP is swinging at EVERYTHING. Watch him take a called 3rd again. Or not.

Orlando signs Keyon Dooling to a 4 year $11 mill deal. Let's see what he can do as a starter. Grizzlies trade guard Bonzi Wells to Sacramento. The Grizzlies exercised an $8 million team option Friday and agreed to trade Wells to Sacramento in a three-team deal involving the Jazz. The deal won’t be officially announced until the collective bargaining agreement is finalized, but it's believed to be Wells to Sacramento for guard Bobby Jackson, with the Kings sending Greg Ostertag to Utah. The Jazz also will send forward Curtis Borchardt, and guards Raul Lopez and Kirk Snyder to Memphis. Jul. 22 - 4:16 pm et
