  1. Interesting, no laptop but managed to get online using my wife's android phone. I presume it will be sufficient for following mlb gameday tonight. Sure, failing that, at least I'll be able to keep up to speed with the commentary on here.
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) GO WHITE SOX!!!
  3. Looks like I'm not going to be able to get my hands on a laptop for the weekend, so won't be able to follow the games. Gutted! :-(
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) And the "oxer" and the fact that it's the same length. It's a combination of things. So, what is it that you're actually concluding from the various things you've highlighted?
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD FIX DETROIT? A NICE YOUKULEAR BOMB! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH!!!!
  6. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) cant say im as excited as everyone else lol im more worried than excited... Not so much excitement as pre-big match tension (PMT) and the desire for the waiting to be over and the opportunity to get stuck in with the hope of picking ourselves up from last night.
  7. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) I think we can take 2 of 3...let's start by winning tonight, and maybe get a sweep! Go Sox! In one way, the expection is all on them, seeing as they're hitting a stride and we're doomed, DOOMED, don't you know. Hope we can just go and unassumingly do our job.
  8. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) Alright! It's Friday, and I'm leaving for vacation in the morning. The beer shall flow tonight as I hopefully watch a White Sox winner. Speaking of, what's your beverage of choice, Joxer? Guinness - that would be top of my list. I love to get stuck into large bottles of Guinness, but they're available in a greatly reduced number of boozers nowadays. I also love a nice pint of Guinness draught. I'm fussy about the quality of my pint though, so tend to veer towards old Dublinese establishments renowned for good Guinness. At home, I tend to drink cans of Carlsberg, but recently I've been exploring a wide range of various ales. Spirits - Power's Whiskey (but I'm not overly fussy), various Belarussian vodkas(but again, not overly fussy), Havana Club rum (not exclusively), Hennessy Cognac, Grand Marnier, anything else I can get my hands on. You see, I'm not really into drinking.... Enjoy the holidays.
  9. After the sore disappointment of last night, here's hoping the guys are chomping at the bit to get back on track. Lets get it right f***ing up this mob, White Sox!!! Unashamedly pilfered from another thread: QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan Sox-Tigers Fri-Sun: Peavy 7-6, 3.12 vs Verlander 10-5, 2.43, Sale 11-2, 2.11 vs Porcello 6-5, 4.66, Humber 4-4, 5.77 vs Turner 0-1, 10.29
  10. Jesus, just overheard on the radio in work here that there were ten killed and 30-40 wounded in a shooting at a screening of this in Denver. Terrible stuff. Prayers for all those affected.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) I rarely meet an average Cubs fan. I find most of them to be well below average. That was a sore one last night/this morning. Stayed up to watch it, an' all. Feckin' knackered now in work, but you've just made me laugh and highlighted that we've a lot to be thankful for too!
  12. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) Feckin' Irish...
  13. I've no idea what WSI is but, from my experience on message boards dedicated to my other sporting interests, I don't think there's any harm in standards of respect and decency between posters being established. It's still possible to be passionate about the team, rip the pish out of each other, have a laugh, argue like f**k, and veer into various obscure levels of lunacy without being obnoxious.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) I think Quintana has a bounce back game. I have a good enough feeling about tonight. Nothing like good technical analysis!! It would be great to finish the series on a positive note before heading off to do battle in Detroit.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) 19/7...? You Europeans have it backward. I remembered that after I posted it. Wondered how long before someone got stuck in about it. It stays!!!
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) Make a thread! Done! Was just giving it the 'shy newbie' act.
  17. How are people feeling ahead of the game tonight? I don't see a dedicated thread for it. Would be great to get the split before butting heads with Detroit.
  18. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) I suppose you're right. Sorry, just playing the role of angry Irish guy this morning. It's a tough role to play, Sir, but you do it well!
  19. After last night's win, for which I'm sure we're all greatful, I trust Heads22 will be doing his bit and following the game again tonight?
  20. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 07:23 AM) If I'm not mistaken, nobody has mentioned that Cleveland and Detroit both lost. So it was a damn good night. Only on the computer in work now to get last night's results. Feckin' fantastic!!! :headbang Delighted to hear Humber delivered the goods and, of course, Youk!
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) Sorry guys, I wasn't able to follow the game last night and that's why we lost. Will watch tonight. This is reassuring news.
  22. Dying all day in work. Thank God I'm finished for the day now.
  23. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) I'm not saying the SPL clubs should have let them remain in the league, but I think the SPL got knocked down a peg the second Rangers got liquidated. Yeah, I certainly appreciate that the rivalry will be missed from an entertainment selling point, but I also see potential for the game to improve. Whatever way it turns out, I don't think we'll see any Champions League winners from Scotland any time soon. In any event, I won't miss being on the receiving end of their bigotry and hate.
  24. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Alright, these two names are far too similar to be posting after one another.
