Hold Arizona under 7 runs and this afternoon's game will be successful.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Are you watching this game or something? How do you know? Obviously you don't recall the field's monstrous center field wall. If it's 405 ft away from the plate--and the baseball broadly hit the wall--safe to assume it would have easily traveled outside the Cell.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) We're playing Arizona. Dustin Nippert is pitching. Yeah, I meant Arizona. We alternate between Arizona and Colorado often enough. Now this pitcher, is a good pitching prospect for the Diamondbacks?

Another three pitches retires a Sox hitter. Can someone tell me, is this Colorado pitcher a typical scrub?

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) I wonder if any other ex-player GM's head to weight room during games...The KW/Beane similarities keep coming. There are probably several more. Too bad their similarities end with the whole 'World Series championship' concept. Or for that matter, the whole 'winning a postseason series' concept.

There may be a Silent Hill comic book I'm aware of, but similar to Resident Evil, this movie inspires itself from a successful video game series. What made Silent Hill enjoyable was the atmosphere. Resident Evil relied more on action. If the movie can mimmick the atmospheric conditions (ie, appropriate use of fog, fitting soundtrack, feeling of isolation) I may pay money to watch it.

Sox vs. Diamondbacks (3/4, 1:05 P.M. CT)

You're right. I have a list next to me where I wrote Mackowiak twice. Safe to assume Gload and Borchard are assured roster positions. If Munoz is the lone lefty chosen, he'll have to continue pitching well. We've seen these last few games the lefty pool isn't very deep with talent. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) I really think that Ozzie wants a second lefty so that means Borchard, Gload, and a lefty. I'm certain there only two roster spots available. -

Hawk is right, though. Baj needs another pitch. His breaking ball isn't too bad; it's his straight fastball which gets him. You can't get by on two pitches unless both are superb. -

There's the Baj we all know. Giving up LONG homeruns. -

How about we make it a nice 14 runs with a grand slam right here? -

Another lefty wets himself. This is becoming a trend. Oh right, that's because they're all terrible. -
Can you blame them? It's a simple decision, since nearly everyone of the candidates are pure crap. Lopez may be the lone pitcher with consideration.

Can we just save face and kick Tucker out on his ass? These are minor leaguers he's facing. By now everyone realizes he's terrible. Nearly all the other lefthanders can come along with him. -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) im not really ok with it I agree. Don't enjoy watching these ass whoopings. Don't enjoy seemingly every pitcher, roster spot assured of not, give up runs. BTW, nice job for Tucker to give up a single to a lefthander. He's useless. -

Yeah, I believe it's safe to assume with the lefty barrage coming out the next several innings, Arizona's offense will get extra batting practice. -

McCarthy is definitely composed in the booth. Well spoken and informative. I can picture him as a radio broadcaster for us one day. -

Not an encouraging pitching performance from McCarthy. His breaking ball was flat, location bad, and changeup rarely used. -

BW, chat's open. McCarthy has almost exclusively been throwing fastballs this first inning. Several changeups thrown to Tracy looked fairly good. His velociy hasn't noticeably changed. Still around 90. -
I'm guessing the video didn't broadcast the defendents face, and the only remnants of him were background sounds--which would have to be corroborated by the victim. Since she refused to watch the video, no validation was given. Reasonable doubt was created. Everyone probably knew he was guilty. It just wasn't possible to convict him on the evidence provided.

Muslim driver takes out innocent students
Flash Tizzle replied to EvilMonkey's topic in The Filibuster
Practically an open and shut case. First, an overt step towards the commision of a crime is established. Second, Muhammed's fulfilment of attempted murder charges is substantiated with the actual hit and run, in addition to his comments following arrest. Muslims in this nation are under a microscope as it is. When even one solitary person commits an act of violence, it's going to be national news. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) its spring training dont worry about it... this was his 1st outing 2 I think so he is facing major league players for the 1st time added into that. I'm not worried at all. As I said, everyone's a bust until proven otherwise. The 'otherwise' is actually producing on the major league level. We're not Minnesota, or Oakland, and shouldn't be given any benefit of doubt. He can absolutely dominate the minors or absolutely tank and it wouldn't matter. I just believe it's easier to hold no hope than have faith in someone, kiss their ass endlessly, and not be disappointed. And if I'm proven wrong, I'll glady accept the criticism. I understand the line indicates an error occured which taxed on another two unearned runs. But I'm not accepting the 2004 Neal Cotts excuse here of bad luck, or other pitchers allowing inherited runners to score. He still gave up his share of hits and walks to a lineup (likely) composed of several ST invitees and minor leaguers.
-
LOL. Nice pitching performance from Broadway. I'm glad I hold the philosophy of everyone is a bust until proven otherwise. That way, I'm never disappointed; or endlessly reassuring myself of someone's potential.
-
I'm trying to guess which one of our stellar spring training invitees or minor league pitchers provided Arizona with batting practice. I can understand Hermanson, Buehrle, Politte getting hit--their positioned is guaranteed and are likely experimenting with certain pitches. Those other scrubs and minor league pitchers are simply playing bingo with the ERA's they've provided these last few days.
