  1. How long until this thread follows the path of SSI's, and people take light hearted comments and turn it into, "That's so degrading, AFTER ALL WOMEN HAVE FOUGHT FOR!" The man simply knows when he returns from an evening of hardwork, he expects food prepared on the table, dammit!
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) Reading personal emails and blocking people from legit sites seems ridicuous to me and not in the least bit funny.
  3. The kid from Illinois needs to be voted off next week. He's, by far, the least talented of the remaining contestants. It's impossible for him to perform a song created after 1980.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) Sounds like he was legal. They are reporting that the checks were linked to a legit real estate deal he was on his way into the city to close. I read a follow up in the Sun-Times this morning. Does look like I was quick to draw conclusions. They didn't mention fake ID's or the alledged 2 million in the article, but rather, only several hundred thousand and other documents which the family corroborated with proof.
  5. This student must have been attracted to manly women with facial hair.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) Eh, It's too sketchy at this point to jump to conclusions. You can agree it's fair to assume SOME illegal activity revolved around those individuals.
  7. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) She's Cute....Sweet....Pretty...the kinda girl you'd like to date maybe even marry, but the HOT award goes to the sassy Irish chick with the twin sister!!!!! You're right about the criteria. She may not be the hottest, but definitely the one I'd prefer to date out of all the contestants. Yeah, guess that really doesn't answer the question posed in this thread. For pure hotness, I'd pick Kellie Pickler. My problem with the O'Donohue twins is their appearance resembles every other supermodel on this planet. This is something where many people see a beautiful girl, whereas I see a slightly average person. Countless women have the same physical features, with seemingly the same 'look,' and suddenly--because of this--other women I wouldn't have considered five years ago look better. Another problem is in the episodes I've seen of them, you can sense arrogance. Typical cockiness of someone who knows they're beautiful, and lives through life on that quality alone. Becky doesn't appear genuine--which probably effects my view on her
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) The Christians and Muslims are now going reprisal for reprisal http://today.reuters.com/news/newsarticle....ERIA.xml&rpc=22 There's proof radicals don't only exist in Islam.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Slightly above average. Horse faces and funny teeth. Exactly how I feel. I suppose it's a testament to my different opinion on woman; but honestly, I consider Katharine McPhee the hottest on American Idol.
  10. If these Arabs turn out to have some connection to terrorism--or even if they don't and it's merely independent criminal activity--that's one hell of a lucky finding. Too bad several people died because of it.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) There ain't s*** haunted in Sterling/Rock Falls (and yes, I've been to that spot at night)...with all the drunken ass teens you might here some odd noises at night though. I have heard this story to be the truth from too many different people to not believe it at least somewhat.... I love the description of that supposed ghost sighting in Aurora. A person encountered the mysterious light on St. Patricks Day at 2 am? They were probably drunk off their ass!
  12. QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) What? No Illinois State on this list??? I'm sure if criteria were added to include intimidation by empty seats, Illinois State would surely be on the list.
  13. The first paragraph is significant as well. Since the moment I first heard of this deal, I knew some stipulation concerning terrorism was forged. On Page 1, I was off in suggesting UAE would relinquish it's support of terrorism; but I knew there had to some negotiated benefit for our nation.
  14. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) I have been through America's most haunted place aka Bachelor's grove many times. Never seen something out of the ordinary, but you can just tell there is something F'd up with the place. I reccomend going to know what I'm talking about. I've heard people attribute the title of "Most haunted" to Bachelor's Grove before. Never been there though. Too many police officers patrolling; too many people visiting. Have you ever seen the grave stones located on the bike path leading around Lake Arrowhead, bordering 135th? I believe they date back to the mid 1800's. Before Palos reconstructed the bike path you would have to follow a ten minute path through the woods to reach it. The entire area--with vines crossing over the gravestones and dark brush blocking light--looked similar to a scene from a horror movie. Pretty cool. Now it's sort of dull, since they have a plaque describing the stones.
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) With all the corporate deals tied to those getting sweet assistance from the Bush administration, we're likely to know if abortion will be overturned if somebody can dig up facts related to coathanger companies' relationships with BushCo. Would information forwarded from French intelligence work?
  16. No, it was probably just someone being murdered. Seriously though, when I lived off 62nd and Lawndale I was always afraid of the school. Very creepy vibe to it. Window shades bordering the 62nd street were always open, and at night you would catch odd shadows walking by.
  17. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) Flash, are you contending that all these protests are spontaneous? I would strongly suggest that they are not. How else would you define protests covering 14 days and three continents? You may attribute several protests to direct involvement from clerics, but most--as I've gathered--were independent of one another. Muslims, under their own accord, amassed themselves in public squares and rioted to protest the cartoons. Is there no such idea as personal responsibility anymore? These people aren't expressing legitimate outrage--they're being provoked!!!
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) I think these protests have so little to do with religion, its ridiculous. No--both you and Kap are instead citing the origins behind the perceived outrage. Which, as we gather, were incited by Syrian and Iranian clerics. How do you explain the thousands rioting through streets in various cites across Africa, Europe, and Asia? To them, these protests are entirely about the sacreligious caricatures of their prophet.
  19. QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) i fail to see how you can argue with this. please dont split hairs about whether the french gov't knew about it or not. please. liberals in this board assume daily much worse about the american government based on way less information than we have in this situation. cant have it both ways, lefties! If it was REALLY made in France, why was "Made in France" spelled in English?
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) If that somehow happened and Bin Laden lived through it...something would be very very wrong. Which is why I believe if anything happened, it was pure coincidence/ignorance rather than malicious intent. Who knows, perhaps this supposed CIA agent is responsible for overseeing security at the hospital and the attendants secretly admitted UBL. It doesn't make much sense for a CIA official to meet with a man already wanted for past terrorist activities in a public venue. If I were to use your oft-mentioned smell test, this would f***ing reek. Anyways, I know what this story is suggesting. You don't need to go out and simply say it, but they're implying that the CIA may have known prior to 9/11 that attacks were forthcoming. If I read this supposed intelligence and come to the possibility, others will as well.
  21. This story is pure politics. For the record, I've never cited (supposed) missed opportunities to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden on behalf of the Clinton administration. French Intelligence leaked this information? The jokes rights themselves. Look, the damn article itself cites France's motive to issuing such nonsense--to prevent our administration from broadening its war efforts. It's simple--either you believe the White Houes and UAE, or French Intelligence. If ANYTHING occured, a CIA agent just happened to be at the same Dubai hospital on the same day as UBL.
  22. Has anyone encountered a spontaneously burning battery before? A TV remote of mine decided to become blazing hot before I gripped the back of it several minutes ago. Don't know exactly how, since it wasn't in use for several hours.
  23. What did this decision consist of--asking the Dubai company if they could withhold vital security secrets, and in turn, UAE officials replying, "Yes, don't worry about it"? I believe it's obvious when the Senate majority leader voices opposition to the deal there's a few problems. I wonder whether or not Congress could collect the 2/3 needed to override Bush's veto. If it comes to that.
  24. QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) hmm...to save the mother? wait, do you think that a baby can be removed from the womb and kept alive if doctors wanted to do it? i think they can to a certain point from the beginning of the pregnancy. they always keep those babies alive, of course, if they can. it would be murder to take it out back and throw it in the dumpster. I don't know much about the complications which may occur during pregnancy. I'm just attempting to understand how if such a scenario would present itself where the child is endangering its mother, why would it be necessary to use an abortion? I heard this mentioned earlier, and was hoping someone could elaborate upon the issue. Then an abortion would be necessary. I'm not completely against it. Abortions occuring early from rape or incest should be mandatory. Even unwanted pregnancies I have no problems against if it occurs early in the pregnancy. However, If we're talking about woman carrying a child six months old when supposed complications arise, then I do. Or a teenage mother four months pregnant deciding she can no longer hide it from her parents. Too late for that, as well.
  25. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) if it keeps mama from dying, then yes i do believe it would be medically necessary. point here is that neither you nor i nor the pro-lifers or choicers know this for sure. if the doctors say its necessary and true, i'll take their word for it. How often is such a scenario going to occur in which a mothers only chance for survival is for their baby to be aborted? It doesn't even make sense, as I gather the argument presented earlier in this thread. If the babies removal is necessary because of the mother's health, why kill it?
