I recall another matchup Jurassic had against Shields where he couldn't make contact with fastballs right down the middle.
-
Two on, 0 outs. I'm still very disappointed, whether or not they rally, with our managing, defense, putrid offense this afternoon.
-
When not popping up or otherwise disgracing our club, he steals stolen bases from teammates. It's not his choosing, but whenever Crede bats, EVERYTHING goes awry on that field for our club.
-
ARE YOU f***ING KIDDING ME??? Jesus Christ, we're losing this game.
-
You just knew this inning wouldn't be easy. Ozzie removed Mark three batters too late. He NEVER should have started this inning. I don't trust Marte in this situation, either. Hermanson should be in this game NOW.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Why? Buehrle's pitched well and his pitch count is still good. -4th time through the lineup for Angel hitters. -Last few innings, there have been 5 or 6 hard hit outs. His outting has been far from dominating. 1 out, runner on 1st, but it's still far from over.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Buehrle still in the game. Molina has looked good at the plate vs him today. And this is the result--basehit. How did I predict this would happen? It's not really even a prediction anymore. More like a fact.

Whoever pitches the 9th, I believe it's a guarantee the Angels won't go down 1-2-3. Never happens during these close games. NEVER.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) I don't think I would mind either scenerio, Buehrle starting it with Dustin ready or Dustin starting it. If Buehlre starts the inning, he must be immediately removed if any runners reach base. If Buehlre gives up a HR either that ties the game or gives Angels the lead, you have to leave him in. Personally, I'm bringing in Hermanson for the 9th.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) I meant the excuse DJ made for pulling Frank. Yeah, DJ, as if the ball disappears any less against OMIT TIMO.
-
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Molina, rivera, molina. who gets the ninth? Buehrle or Hermie? Make your call. I say Hermie. Again, Hermanson. Angels have hit Mark hard these last few innings. Long, deep flies.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) That was close, I thought it had a chance to get out. Marte should be in to face Anderson here. Buehlre luckily escaped this inning. Regardless of pitch count, Buehrle should not begin the 9th inning. 4th time around for these Angels, who have taken their hacks against Mark, spells trouble.

This matchup is bad. Politte should be in this game now. EDIT: Cabrera records a long out to Podsednik. Guillen remains on the bench.
-
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) way to piss off the kind of crowd we've been dreaming about. big inning, fellas. big inning, comin right up. Any runners reach, Ozzie needs to go to the pen. His "gut feeling" with leaving pitchers out too long has cost this team some wins recently.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Timo in for Frank? Kill me now... Terrible move for Ozzie. Only excuse I'll accept is if Thomas' ankle is aching. Shadows creeping over home plate should not have dictated this PH role.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) We have got to retire Chone leading off next inning. Finley scares the crap out of me with how he's swinging now. That moment will dictate the remainder of this game. Retire Figgens, and at worst, it's a tie game if Finley jacks one. Figgens reaches, Ozzie may want to consider using Marte against Finley.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) This game has the worst vibe ever, correct? It's odd how this team performs against Washburn. As if, no matter how well we're hitting or poorly he's pitching, our offense only scratches across 3 runs. However, we'll need more than 3 tonight. I don't believe Buehlre or the pen will shut down the Angels from this point on. Every out recorded in the outfield by Rowand/Pods/Dye is crushed. Only a matter of time before one finds the seats.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) 38,000+ at the ballpark today. But is it soldout? Mariotti wants to know.
-
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) You guys notice that the players that have been kinda s***ty for us this year (Dye, Crede, Konerko & Uribe at times) are always down 0-1 and/or 0-2 in the count? Whether the Bremuda Triangle takes their pitches or swing, they usually guess wrong. Swing first pitch, it's half a foot of the plate. Take first pitch, it's right down the middle. Both result in 0-1 counts.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) As you read a little more, you will find there are people who love to vent their frustration in the game threads, others who are more calm and take a big picture approach, etc. You'll figure it out and you'll be fine. Absolutely. I-HATE-CREDE, if you intend on releasing frustrations during a game, you may want to consider visiting the chat room located on the main page. Friendly environment full of profane arguments and adament Sox fans proving PBP for those unwilling to follow gameday threads.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) Bloop hits will occur more when you dont try and pull every f***ing pitch. Nearly every bloop by the Rangers went towards the opposite field. Coincidence? No, depending on the balls contact with the bat (below/above 'sweet spot'),it could happen whether or not the hitter is purposely attempting to pull a pitch. When Politte pitched in the 7th and the ball dropped between Uribe/Pods, it was not the result of opposite field hitting.
-
QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) I do love the fact that the Sox have smoked the ball hard in all 3 games only for them to be caught. Meanwhile, the Rangers in between those homeruns, have duck-snorted the Sox to death. Minnesota's offense has mastered bloop hitting for three straight years. I've becomed used to witnessing it.
-
Does anyone find it rather odd Cordero is pitching in a blowout? Appears as if Showalter is having his fun right now.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 29, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Hmmm...Beverly Hills Cop II is on Comedy Central... No kidding. I thought I was tuning into Comedy Central watching this disgraceful pitching implosion.

Shingo's ERA will be assaulted after this pitiful performance. I'm guessing 6.00+ is in order. Now, Ozzie can rest easy knowing TaKOCHu and Vizcaino will never be placed in 1-2-3 or even 4 run leads.
