Films such of Kill Bill showcase a decapitation followed by a geyser of blood. I know from Anatomy that's not true, and I don't need personal experience to prove myself. Think about it , what could be the only alternative to this situation: that his captures drained all the blood out of his body, it was a dummy, or this was real and since nobody has witnessed a decapitation they don't know what to expect. Cmon, I suppose only the Arabian equivalent of Steven Spielberg would of better portrayed the agony of Berg's suffering. Men can't scream like women? In the moments before his death Berg should of sounded more manly, as to quell all skeptics who are looking to question his execution. First, he really didn't go to "great trouble" Haven't we all seen this before with captured Americans in Iraqi custody? They state their name, and where they're from; nothing odd. Apu, I know you're always willing to search for any signs of a conspiracy, but you have to look at this situation and see it for what it is: an innocent man was brutally killed, and by suggesting US involvement (or some sort of "wagging the dog" theory) you're searching for an explanation while the video evidence is right in front of you. Watch the video first before suggesting some "psy ops operation."

I know what video you're talking about, and I agree this recent tragedy is similar. Though this incident still strikes me as more sickening. "Thee" (I call it that because it has become well known at Ebaums world) Chechen Rebel video was 1. done to an enemy soldier; not an innocent civilian 2. No sense of personal attachment existed with the soldier, whereas this guy was f***ing murdered immediately after describing himself as an American with a family in Philadelphia. Now US media outlets are boardcasting pictures of three family members consoling each other outside of their house. How must these people feel knowing their brother/son was screaming while his head was SAWED off. Not that the Chechen video isn't brutal, but with no background on the victim it only seems more random. Talk about U.S. breeding hate with their Iraqi abuse scandal, the tides are equal when you murder American contractors. While the uncivilized, prehistoric Middle East believes this act is justified we're left questioning our role in Iraq, continually pointing fingers at Rumsfeld and Bush. I'm not here to complain about the war in Iraq, but I believe events warrant an out of control label when those who have NO intention (other then to help rebuild) are butchered. In law enforcement training (maybe Army does this two. Nuke?) they teach you if you are ever kidnapped to disclose stories of loved ones and ,if possible, pictures of family members. Try and create an emotional response is the intended effect, but it obviously has no effect with these Islamic terrorists. Cold blooded, ruthless, persistent, and unwavering in their hatred these bastards are using Iraqi torture as an excuse to behead our citizens. Noone should assume this man would of lived even IF the whole Iraqi abuse scandal never occured, but it just seems like a convenient excuse to the anti-war crowd. Those people like to walk the fine line of "I agree the murder is uncalled for.......but I do understand why they did it."

Yes, now I admit ALL is a harsh word to use, but 99% of it was not garbage. Look at it this way: when I listen to the radio I hear the best of the best, and not the likes of the ukulele branding hippy, "Tiny Tim."

Decade: "Timeless"/"Mediocre,"Garbage" 60s: 70/30 70s: 40/60 80s: 20/80 90s: 60/40 From motown to the Beatles, its almost as if the geneology of modern day music was planted during this period of the "baby boomers". Elements of rock, blues, jazz all existed in the 50's, but it was as if it all came together during this decade (60's). Of course everyone is entitiled to judge the 60's as they will, I just hold "classic rock" as a personal favorite.

I throughly enjoy motown artists, though I would never admit it outside of this board. Despite its obvious influence in the development of music, they don't compare (IMO) to the classic rock artists of the mid to late 60's; ideally the British Invasion. Any music created circa 1960-1971 is timeless, and its good people of our generation are keeping it alive.

Wow, the crusader himself has posted at Soxtalk. I may not enjoy WSI, but I do find all your "Media Watches" and "Random Thoughts" rather interesting. Whenever I was at school (WSI blocked my account) I would read through the threads and usually come upon your daily count of respected Cubs,Sox stories. When the members over there weren't abusing the "This thread sucks" or "Who Cares?" pictures, it became a rather enjoyable topic. But now, with members in the media admitting their exists a bias, everyone all of the sudden takes what you have reported as the truth. Far as this incident, most Sox fans living within Chicago fully understand how the Cubs are perceived in this town. Newspapers (ideally tribune) undoubtably feel its within their best interests to highlight every positive event, while ignoring all negative press. Of course ANY business would feel this is necessary, but when you own a newspaper, whose job it is to report news, you should push aside all bias and give a story the attention it warrants.

Only question remaining from this incident is how long will it be until she releases a book, followed by a made for Lifetime movie. The public has a right to know the full story behind the Randall Simon sausage beating!!
