We're just pathetic. After that gift last inning we respond with this?! -

Here we go, another White Sox tradition -- walking the leadoff hitter after the offense scores a few runs. -

I'm not too excited, though. We still have Jackson pitching, and I wouldn't count him out for giving up a leadoff walk and a blast on a hanging slider. -

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) why sacrifice when Pierre has a pair of hits already I thought the same thing. We're taking the bat out of the only hitter who has figured out Masterson. What good is it for Vizquel to be on second, by forsaking an out, when no one will move him over to third, much less home. -

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Any1 else think Sale's development into his full potential is getting hindered. I know a few think it already is with him in the bullpen this year. But its really looking like we are just gonna keep stunting his development by keeping him in the bullpen forever. I'd rather take two decent seasons out of Sale as a starter (before his inevitable injury) rather than four decent seasons as a reliever (before his inevitable injury). The goal should always be extracting the most value out of a player as possible. Filling in bullpen pieces will always be much easier than starters. They're thinking of value to our team and perhaps to others looking at him as a rotation piece. Of course they're hindering his development, but I don't believe he'll ever be an option for us unless there's some ridiculous set of injuries.

Jackson has been hanging far too many breaking balls, and he has limited command of the fastball. He better shape his ass up, quickly. -

QUOTE (bobryansson @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Hawk! Shut up about the 4th out! Yes, it could/should have bee turned, but he's fast! It was Floyd's batting practice pitching that gave up the 6 runs! And, oh yes, the home run given up to a nobody hitter. If not then, our pitching would have given up the lead anyway at another point. -

Another embarrassing matchup against the Twins. I love the disgust in Stone's voice when he's describing these scrub relief pitchers out there for Minnesota. We need to lose these next two games. Nothing may happen, but if there ever was a moment to push change (ANY change) it'd be then; right before the ASB. -
Weird s*** with my Cricket phone. The last hour I've been getting these phone calls from an unknown number, which in itself isn't that odd, but what's strange is my phone will automatically pick up the call. And it'll always pick up the call on the first ring. On the other end is no sound, and the call ends within 30 seconds.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) At least then there were clear moments of acceptance. I'm not so sure about this year. Nah, we'll have to wait until September to accept our second place fate. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) I'm kinda looking forward to K number 100 in less than 230 at bats. I've always said if you're going to be bad, at least be entertaining bad. With that said, I wouldn't mind a 475 FT bomb to RF. Dunn loves those 0 foot bombs to the catcher. I wouldn't mind another. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) They should just IBB him even with the runner on first. May as well with 3-1..... If I'm Konerko, I'm swinging here if its anywhere close -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) You can't sit fastball on Livan for multiple reasons. 1, he has a ton of movement on it back in to righties and away to lefties. At the same time, it looks a lot like his slider except with reverse late action. And it's hard to hit the big looping breaking ball because he changes speeds on it and it really does drop of the table. Yeah, he's throwing junk, but he's effective as all hell with it. Hernandez should NEVER strike out 9 players in the AL. No excuse can justify that. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) 9 freaking strike outs for Livan? Seems like one of those games that afterwards, the pitcher will say he simply pitched the way the scouting report told him to. Too bad there isn't an extensive scouting reporting on Hernandez that our hitters could look at. It's not like he has been around for awhile...... -

Whenever I watch Hernandez pitch, I never understand why the other team just doesn't sit on his extreme offspeed pitches. He throws them ALL the damn time, no one should be fooled. -
QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) JimH sends his regards! LOL. He'd be the first to be suspended under these new guidelines. Well, he'd first have to return from his current suspension; but then SSI would post and he'd lose his mind again.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:05 AM) Here is the funny thing in this whole discussion... no one can nail down an exact definition of what people are referring to as that hyperbolic, hyper-negative post quality... and yet pretty much everyone would point to the same few posters as being just that. I'm quite a few pages back, and perhaps it has since been answered, but this portion of NSS's post is golden. If Jason and company are going to establish new rules concerning posting there should be clear guidelines detailing what's acceptable and what isn't. More than "hyperbole" or outlandish negativity. Additionally, who exactly is enforcing these rules, just Jason; or all mods? Will each post that is questionable be put up for review? Also, I'm trying to wrap my mind around this concept -- so there's a collection of 'quality' posters out in the nether regions of the internet lurking, and oh boy do they have some valuable insight to provide for fellow Soxtalk members. Yet, when these member log on all they notice is the negativity; and that just makes them sad. They don't appreciate such injustices. So in a silent protest (well, not really, because they made sure to tell the mods/admins of their intentions so everyone will miss them) they leave and now the world will never know what knowledge could have been shared with Soxtalk. Am I the only person who finds it ridiculous someone is allowing another person indirectly to influence whether or not they post here?

What I liked is there wasn't any leadoff runners, no 3-0 counts, just quick and easy. -

I become annoyed constantly seeing the Fisk HR and the Gibson HR replayed over and over. Cmon, there have been more than enough quality playoff moments since then that can be used. -
