Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
People with legitimate sources are saying the opposite of what you are saying. You're talking with conviction based on your gut feeling, which happens to be wrong.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
Smh Ragah. Madrigal is neither. His speed, baserunning, defense, and baseball IQ were so overrated. If he wasn't an overachieving, little "grinder", he wouldn't be so overrated in those departments.

The Wainwright to the Cards Thread
I notice that he is a shit ton older than everybody on that list

The Wainwright to the Cards Thread
Last year he was decent, but he was pretty bad the 4 season prior. A bit disappointing seeing what we could have signed Q for.

Foodies: Sox/Giolito discussing an extension?????
Al's is so full of shit. He literally would have to have a pulse on multiple GMs and multiple agents or players to get all the BS information he spits out.

But what about Eaton's previous season makes you think he is a "phenomenal" upgrade over what we had? It sounds like blind optimism.

Nothing about Eaton's stats last season scream "phenomenal" upgrade over what we had in RF last year.

I admire the blind optimism

He has tested positive before. If we do sign him, I sure as hell hope he is roiding still.

I see Dane Dunning is in his chat, lol- Student Loan Debt
I pissed away scholarship money and wasted money by dropping classes because I was more worried about partying. This money was covered by loans. I also have friends that received more loan money than they actually needed for classes. The leftover money went straight into their wallet and was used for booze and partying. None of us need our loan debt erased, but we would take it of course. Plenty of people could use that relief more than us. Seems a bit disingenuous for us to get relief, especially since large chunks of the debt were a direct result of partying and not taking school seriously enough.- COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I'm wondering the same. @Balta1701 ?- the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread
Correct. He isn't completely ditching the changeup. I think that's what bmags was referring to, though.- the old Corbin Burnes thread, we have a new Burnes thread
https://theathletic.com/2309736/2021/01/08/new-white-sox-pitching-coach-ethan-katz-is-in-constant-contact-with-his-starters/ "It was worth a chuckle when Kopech pledged that he no longer would be a power pitcher, and then promptly sat in triple digits with his fastball velocity during his sole spring training outing. But he was speaking to something real in his mentality that Katz saw in looking at his usage. It could be chalked up to a young pitcher being fired up, and also the phenomenal power of the pitch, but Katz estimated that up to the point of his injury in 2018, that Kopech was reliably throwing 88-90 percent fastballs in hitter’s counts. “I think for his own growth — you know it is 100 mph — but being able to throw other pitches in certain counts is really important for any pitcher,” Katz said. Part of building that out is defining what those secondaries are. Kopech has long boasted a plus slider, but to make him more viable against left-handers he could use another pitch that operates in a third velocity band and breaks less toward lefties. When he was called up in 2018, Kopech was fighting to get a feel for a changeup — often a challenge for a power pitcher — with some speculation that he could achieve those goals with just more use of his curveball. Now, over two years later, Katz is clear: Kopech is a fastball-slider-curveball guy, with a changeup they are still developing." Hopefully i didn't quote too much. Just a small excerpt of the interview with Katz.- Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
