White Sox Bryce Harper FA pitch spoiler?
Lots of people have been saying that it might be a ruse. They give this presentation, low ball Harper and Machado at 250m, then tell the fan base "oh well, we tried"

White Sox Bryce Harper FA pitch spoiler?
Completely different league with different salary rules. There is no max contract in the MLB. Sox can go balls to the wall and outbid everybody

Hahn on The Score this morning
I'm talking about the amount he got. Michael got 30m+ for multiple years back in the fricken 90'. Reinseorf forked up unprecedented dollars to the best player in the league for multiple years. I don't think it's unbelievable that he will do the same with these generational talent type FAs. He has shown he can go balls to the wall.

Hahn says Eloy will spend most, if not all of the season in Chicago
I apologize, my post was overly condescending. I think these guys know of the top prospects in the game, such as Eloy and Vlad Jr. If not, their agent will quickly make them aware of the top prospects on the team offering big-time dollars.

Yeah, sure. And Jon Lester didn't know who Kris Bryant was when he signed with the Cubs. Are you serious?

When has that ever happened? That is an absurd notion.

They are all fine examples. Our owner has proven he will spend if need be. The Machado and Harper free agencies are almost unprecendented, given their age and ability. Arod is comparable. You will find it difficult to find a comparable historical signing for ANY other team in the MLB. The past has little to do with this IMO. Simply put, the White Sox are in as good of a position as any other team. To write them off with 100% certainty due to the past is ridiculous.

I'm sorry, but this logic is just garbage. The past really has little to do with what the White Sox are doing now. Jerry broke the bank with albert Belle. He signed MJ an astronomical contract in the mid 90's. He broke the bank on Derrick Rose. He spent a lot on an unknown commodity in Jose Abreu. The White Sox are in a unique position where they have lots of young talent and a LOT of money to spend. It makes complete sense that they would be one if the top bidders for these big name free agents. These pessimistic "it ain't gonna happen!" posts that are completely void of any logic or reasoning are just ridiculous. Is it likely we get one of them? No, because there are a lot of bidders. However, their chances are as high as any team. Big market, top farm system, lots of cap space. It's pretty simple.

Anybody aware how long it takes guys to get their velocity back after TJs, typically? Obviously it isn't a guarantee.

White Sox Hiring for Analytics Department
I don't let bias or emotion get in the way of my views, opposite of what many people do here with Jose. My objectivity is probably a plus in this profession.

Sox acquire LHP Manny Bañuelos for Justin Yurchak
I get it man, don't want to make a bet you will lose. I don't need your justification for it. It's all good. I wouldn't want to bet with me either.

Sox acquire LHP Manny Bañuelos for Justin Yurchak
No bet was ever agreed upon. I made a proposition. We didn't agree to terms or anything (ban length, specifics of the bet). You're acting like I went back on an agreed upon bet. That is not the case. I backed out before it was finalized. It's ok though. I know I would win this one.
