I don't really get the bolded. If he's lying then why sign him for 3 years? Anyway, you don't sign him for 3 years because you don't need to. You can find guys like him in free agency all the time. Plus, we'll have plenty of hitters with Collins, Vaughn, Burger, Eloy, etc that will be the DH/1B

Abreu needs to stop playing 1st by next year. If he's a team player, he'll take the full time DH role. The guy is an absolute hack at 1st. It's a disservice to our pitchers that he even gets burn there anymore.
