Minor League Free Agents posted
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 09:22 AM) Baseball America posted the full list of Minor League Free Agents. This does not include the players the team has already re-signed. Here is the link, and here is the White Sox list... RHP: Tim Crabbe (AA), Jesse Crain (AAA), Kyle Drabek (AAA), Raul Fernandez (AA), Arcenio Leon (AAA), Brad Penny (AAA) C: Adrian Nieto (AA), Dallas Tarleton (AA) 1B: Chris Jacobs (AA), Neftali Soto (AAA) 2B: Drew Garcia (AAA), Michael Johnson (AA), Tony Thomas (AA) 3B: Chris Curley (AAA) SS: Justin Sellers (AAA) OF: Tyler Colvin (AAA), Christian Marrero (AA), Matt Tuiasosopo (AAA), Dayan Viciedo (AAA) The only name there that I'd like to see them re-sign for sure is Adrian Nieto. Secondarily, Raul Fernandez and Christian Marrero are not bad guys to have around. The rest are, to me, completely replaceable. Not going to comment on Viciedo. I'd resign Drabek, Nieto, Curley (been in the org. forever seems like lol), and Viciedo

2015-2016 NFL Thread
Adam Gase is gonna be a wanted man this off season. Quick questions? He signed a 3 year contract, correct? Technically, the Bears can be d***s and not let him interview, right? If so, I'd promise him he can be the HC after Fox or something. Retaining Gase is a MUST this off season

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 09:11 PM) How many times have we seen the prevent defense in the red zone at the end of a half? And how many times has it worked? The whole point of the defense is to not give up a touchdown. By going to the "picket fence" defense it forces the QB to throw short and they concede a FG.

2015-16 NHL thread
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) do you really think Shaw would be enuf??? i don't.... i envision someone like Tevo. remember, no team will help a 2x SC team. Bickell might be easier to trade next season with only one year left on his deal and if the Hawks eat some of his salary. If they can trade Daley, I certainly would because TVR has really played well this season and has worked himself into a top 4 shutdown dman like Hammer. Gustaffsson also looks like a great find. Responsible in his own zone and has natural instincts on offense. Keith-Seabrook Hammer-TVR Gustaffsson-Svedberg Rozival Pairings would probably be different, but you guys get the gist. Not a bad defensive unit. Pokka is probably a year away as well. So he can factor into the equation.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) Jayson Stark @jaysonst 32m32 minutes ago Other clubs say #Marlins are floating Marcell Ozuna's name but only want to deal him for a No. 2-type starter. Tough sell after last year Lol yeah right. At best, I think they can fetch a back end rotation type guy.

Byung-ho Park bidding rights won by Twins, $12.85 m
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) i just got back so if your idea of the trade is wrong, that team put in a bid, what are they going to do with rizzo, again if they had won the bidding process, so this is a NL team with no DH and now they have 2 1b man in rizzo and parks. what to do??? We don't even know they made a bid.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 10:28 AM) this has nothing to do with Sano, he made a statement and i asked a counter question, he never responded. it is just he makes statements with out ever explaining why it is wrong, or his reasoning. the other part is me, i was in a great mood until i had my meeting. now everything went to the s***ter. so i am in a pissy mood now.... i am leaving today, b/c of it. i will be back when the s*** is off the stove. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) I think LDF is referring to the brief discussion the two of you had yesterday on if the Cubs were the winning bidders, what would they do about 1B with Rizzo already there. It's all moot now since its the Twins that won the bid. Just trying to clarify is all. Anyway. Twins lineup looks even more potent now with the power potential in that lineup. Oh lol. Well I didn't see his post. Trading Rizzo who is 3 years younger and far more proven than Park, and moving Rizzo to the OF wouldn't be a good idea because he has been pretty solid at 1B his entire career.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) you never finished my question.... typical. Excuse me? Typical? What are you talking about? If you posted something, I probably missed it. I did read a tweet yesterday I believe saying they are trying Sano in LF, but I don't see that happening successfully.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 08:40 AM) if they win, put or play park in the spring training, if he does well, trade rizzo for some major talent or see how he does in the outfield. That's the last thing the Cubs are gonna do.

Two poll questions as we enter the offseason
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 7, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) ''I'd hit them over the fence. People would gather to watch the little kid,'' says Epstein. ''But that came about 20 years too early to maximize my earning potential.'' He made the Brookline Little League All-Stars but says he was ''a second-tier player'' as a pitcher at Brookline High School. Paul says his brother ''didn't have overpowering physical gifts, but I think he made up for it with pitcher's intellect. He didn't have the fastest fastball, but he had a good sense of what pitch to put where.'' Though his parents attended all of the boys' soccer games, they had a hard time watching Theo on the mound, worrying he'd lose. ''I was too nervous,'' says his mother, who has saved all the boys' trophies and sports memorabilia - her ''archival vaults'' - in the comfortable old Brookline apartment where she raised three kids and where she is now compiling a scrapbook of Theo's latest venture. http://www.brooklinehighalumni.org/epstein.asp In the end, it's vague because he was a pitcher, but he was apparently a starter in soccer at least and his brother still is the Brookline coach in that sport to this day. I suppose we can debate the merits of that. But the two brothers at least grew up in a family where sports were integral. Rick Hahn is a bad GM because he wasn't a a varsity starter in high school! Makes sense!
