Yeah no chance on Harvey. Just a thought, if the Mets are set in stone on making the Mets having Montero the center piece of a Ramirez trade. Would Montero, Molina and Reynolds be too much for Alexei? My reason behind Reynolds is that he could hit, but I'm not sure if he can play a good SS though. This would still make Semien/Sanchez expendable for trade also.

I think this makes sense for both teams, probably the Sox adding a prospect also in the deal. The Angels are starved for pitching as Weaver and Wilson are not the same anymore and injury prone. This would get the Danks contract off the books, only get Kendrick for one year and have Micah Johnson develop some more in AAA, while making Semien and Sanchez more expendable in a trade for starting pitching or outfield help. On top of that, if the Sox manage to get Sandoval, the line up, and overall defense in the infield has gone up tremendously. The savings from this deal could be invested into the bullpen or a lesser FA DH like LaRoche or outfielder like Denorfia. Again, I'm just thinking out loud here, but right now, to me this trade makes sense. Surprised there isn't a thread about him yet. Surprisingly, the Sox have been linked to Scherzer by Hayes and Heyman so far as a dark horse to sign him. The money and years he is going to command is definitely scary, and I really hope the Sox don't sign him to a long lucrative contract. What are your guys thoughts on Scherzer?

I went over to the Mets board to talk about Alexei. I told them that obviously that the Sox hold Alexei more valuable than the Mets so the asking price is going to be high. I told them that the asking price would probably start with Montero and Plawecki, and add a lottery ticket prospect. 2 members responded to me and said no chance they give all that up for Alexei. I even saw a proposal of Alexei and Avisail for Montero and Ceccini....
