  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) Even Dee Brown is saying Nova now haha, oh well, full press on Evans for the commit before this weekend. Dee is pissed lol
  2. Supposedly Wright might not of even had an in home visit with Brunson yesterday. There was a report/tweet that he was in Oregon to watch a 2016 PG play. Pritchard.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 10:12 PM) Moved out of town more like it. Relax.
  4. There's a rumor that Abrams might of torn his ACL and could affect the recruitment of Evans and Brunson....
  5. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 36m Abreu already has pulled Ramirez aside and talked about really being leaders on the 2015 team to help them get to the next level Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 35m In talking to @79JoseAbreu, you listen to a guy who is so talented and has so much but is genuinely grateful for his opportunity every day Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 34m Abreu and Sale as the core of this franchise is a pretty darn good place to start
  6. Ryan Baker @RyanBakerSports · 44m It could be a VERY good morning for @JohnGroce & @IlliniHoops with Jawun Evans @Hungry_humble0 #Illini Ryan Baker @RyanBakerSports · 27m Tough decision for #IlliniHoops to make with in-state star Jalen Brunson still hanging & Jawun Evans ready to bite.
  7. Sanchez killed that ball to SS. I feel like he barrels up a lot of balls. I think the kid has got some good talent and can stick next year.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Yep, and just like with Flowers, I'll be ok with it as long as the available money goes to a strong starting pitcher and lefty hitting DH or LF Exactly my thought.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Brunson committed on his visit. I'm guessing it's only not public because his father rescinded it. No chance. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) Where did those rumors come from? I don't see anything on the boards, although it could be buried. I'm on the boards and have seen nothing of it. Posters have been dropping hints that they have heard Illinois should be getting one of Brunson or Evans. And another just dropped a hint of Bragg. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) It would've leaked by someone if he did. Easily.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 04:30 PM) So Konerko is also down to four home games since he's out for at least 7-10 days. He better play Saturday the 27th because I got tickets for that day for 13 bucks.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) With Viciedo, it would be interesting to see if they really do want to make him the back-up/emergency 1B for Abreu next year. I really think he's part of the team next year if he can hit consistently.
  12. Loving the line up. I like Viciedo at first.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) My hope is Evans commits this weekend and Thomas commits in 2 weeks. Doesn't sound like Evans' trip to USC went all that well (describing it as "pretty good.") and I just can't see either of them pulling the trigger on OK State. I agree, I don't think Evans lasts until his visit with OSU. I really think he commits this weekend.
  14. I expect to see Mason Robbins with Kanny next season.
  15. Semien has had a good game tonight.
  16. Hayes always stutters his first word in the interview lol. I would probably do the same thing.
  17. Castro out for the year after suffering a high ankle sprain yesterday sliding into home.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) Right now these guys seem like locks for next year: C: Flowers LF: Tank/Semien/Danks/Taylor/Mitchell DH: Tank/Wilkins/Taylor I agree that LF & DH are higher priorities, but improving at catcher should also be on the to-do list. Flowers may be passable by league standards, but hoping for average production out of a position should never be a goal. I'm pretty sure Hahn will be looking for an upgrade this offseason, whether he can find one at semi-reasonable price will be the true challenge. I think improving in LF and/or DH is a lot more important than upgrading the catching position. You wouldn't take Flowers hitting 240 with 10+ HRs and 50+ RBIs in the 8-9 hole in the line up. Not to mention he works well with the pitching staff. I say use our resources elsewhere.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) The question is how much of your remaining talent you are willing to give up for the right to offer him that money. Would I part with a 2nd round pick for the right to offer him that? Yes. Would I part with Tim Anderson and a large number of other talented guys? Much more difficult to do. I need some of those guys to be successful in order to afford to give contracts like the one to Stanton out. But the Sox are fairly young at every other position that taking a little depth out of the farm shouldn't harm the big club. I saw a stat on Intentional Talk that the Sox were the 5th youngest team in the league, and that was with Beckham, De Aza and Dunn on the roster. I would definitely part with depth on the farm to acquire a 24 year old super star at a position of need.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:30 AM) More than you'd think. 2015 30 Los Angeles Dodgers $21,000,000 2016 31 Los Angeles Dodgers $21,500,000 2017 32 Los Angeles Dodgers $21,500,000 2018 33 Los Angeles Dodgers $21,500,000 2019 34 Los Angeles Dodgers $21,500,000 5 years, $107 million remaining. Wow. That is a lot. If Hahn were to trade for him, I'd expect some cash being sent back our way, if not, they aren't getting that big of prospect/prospects in return. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:30 AM) Kemp is an outfielder in name only. He is not good out there. Better than Viciedo.
  21. 2nd league. 1 ppr. 12 teams. QB Cam Newton RB Doug Martin RB CJ Spiller WR Calvin Johnson WR Michael Floyd TE Julius Thomas FLEX Riley Cooper DEF 49ers K Blair Walsh Bench QB Derek Carr RB Chris Ivory RB Knowshon Moreno WR Kendall Wright WR Greg Jennings TE Eric Ebron What you guys think
  22. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 10:27 AM) He also wouldn't fill the positional need that Kemp or someone would. He's a full-time 1B now. I guess he could DH and spell Abreu, but yeesh. Exactly. How much is left on Kemp's contract? Like 4 years correct but I'm not sure on the money. If someone could help me out there please.
