  1. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) SOLER HR Of course lol. But his swing was impressive. Nice short stroke.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) Given what Hahn said about trading for high dollar contracts last week, I think an Upton deal is plausible. The Sox have some room to take on a contract like this, and it is a guy that makes some sense for the team, if they think they can get him to hit again. At the very worst, you are at least trading for a guy that makes the OF defense a helluva lot better. If you make it a bad contract for bad contract trade, you can add Upton at no cost at all until the 3rd and final year. I wonder if the Braves would think about Danks for Upton. Sign Shields and trade for a lefty bat then. Sale Shields Quintana Rodon Noesi LF/CF Eaton SS Alexei 1B Abreu DH Lefty bat RF Garcia 3B Gillaspie LF/CF Upton C Flowers 2B Sanchez/Semien/Johnson
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 11:19 PM) Baez currently has a 44.4% K-rate. The highest K-rate ever recorded in a season by a qualified hitter was Chris Carter, just last year, at 36%. The kid has crazy power, but his contact skills are atrocious.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 09:45 AM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140827 Charlotte at 11:05. Birmingham off. Here's Anderson's homer... http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...43&sid=milb I love his rhythm he has before each pitch, on that HR, that was a gorgeous swing.
  5. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 38m Sources: #Reds’ Latos, Leake went on revocable waivers yesterday. Both likely to be claimed, neither figures to be traded. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 38m #Reds expected to trade at least one starting pitcher this off-season, when they can negotiate with all teams, not just a claiming club. I mentioned earlier in another thread about the off season and I thought of a trade to acquire Bruce and Marshall. I really think the Reds might need to rebuild and will explore their options to build around some guys. Even though I'd like to acquire a pitcher through free agency (Shields, my #1 target) and acquire a bat through trade, this does give Hahn options.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) The one thing that prevents me from completely calling this a successful season is the rash of injuries. It's prevented development for some guys and shown for others that it could be a long-term risk big enough to keep this core from ever being competitive. I agree, but you can definitely see the talent when they are playing. We have pieces in the lineup that can do damage, just have to surround them with a little more. (Eaton, Abreu, Avi, Alexei, Sanchez)
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 09:46 PM) His current 162 game pace is 54 homers and 308 strikeouts with 64 RBIs
  8. I'm liking Carlos Sanchez. Kid is patient, looks comfortable at the plate, has a nice approach, and doesn't strike out a ton (so far)
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) does anyone know if Brady Aiken is eligible for 2015 draft? I think if he goes some other rt, or something like that. am I wrong? It looks like he's going to JuCo so yes he would be eligible for the 2015 draft.

  12. yeah ppr league both Johnson's are a pretty good get. Gordon was drafted in the last round.

  16. QUOTE (daggins @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) Based on what Hahn has said (about "another Eaton like trade") and what the chatter has been RE: Sox rumors, I would guess Dom Brown and Pedro Alvarez will be two names heard often. As lefty power hitters having lousy years in organizations strongly focused on winning, they could be buy-low candidates as Eaton was. No idea what they would cost though. Hahn could also target someone like this: http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t...itting/2014/ALL As an outfielder in a system deep in star-caliber OF talent, and having a breakout season in AA, he might be attractive to a team like the Sox. I want no part of Brown unless he is the DH, he is worse than Viciedo in the outfield. I'd be trying to get a hold of Dickerson from Colorado. Might cost a lot, but I think he would be worth it. A Dickerson, Eaton and Garcia outfield is solid, and Dickerson brings that lefty bat in the line up.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 10:12 PM) So Zac Stacy didn't start for St. Louis in the last pre-season game...is that troubling? I just drafted Stacy today and I'm already afraid I made the wrong pick. Stacy's been bad in pre-season and Cunningham has been really good. Outside of that, I like my team a lot. I'm in 0.5 PPR with a flex, 12 teams. QB Foles WR Nelson WR Crabtree RB Charles RB Stacy TE Olsen W/R Maclin DEF Denver K Walsh Bench: E. Sanders, Ridley, Boldin, McCown, McFadden I really like my depth at WR. Not bad for 12 teams. I've got my draft tomorrow afternoon 10 team ppr league
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 10:08 PM) ahhh now for the Asian market he is another name I been looking at Shintaro Fujinami, a 19 yr pitcher. Both those guys are young and very intriguing. Their numbers are very nice in Japan considering both just turned 20.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) It's really fun seeing prospects do well and getting excited about them. Just have Davidson and EJ go see a counselor to get their heads straight for next year. Could you imagine if those 2 figure it out next year? Our system looks that much deeper...

  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) Gotta be Adams today. Him or Montas
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) Sanchez is better than I thought I like him. He's got a good future.
