  1. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) It's unfortunate that the Rangers don't really have that many interesting prospects anymore, because they definitely look like they could use some pitching help. Mazara, Gallo, Profar, Speas, Mendez are all intriguing
  2. Hawks on the verge of acquiring Nail Yakupov from the Oilers. Supposedly no roster players from the Hawks end are involved and money retained from EDM part is likely. Love it.
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 07:32 AM) I think if you really listen to what Rick has been saying lately, it seems like the rebuild is coming. If a rebuild is coming, get rid of Q and Sale, no sense of keeping 1 or the other
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) Here's one: James Shields cannot be on this team. Please get rid of him. Gonna eat his money? No team will trade for him. Why not try and see if he can pitch well and trade him at the deadline?
  5. The yearly off season plan thread has begun. I'll give my thoughts on the off season and all of you come up with your off season plan for our beloved White Sox. I for one are all in on a rebuild, so I will base my off season off that. Manager: Rick Renteria Free Agent Signings: 3B Luis Valbuena 1 year/5 million CF Carlos Gomez 1 year/7 million SP Ivan Nova 1 year/5 million Trades: SP Chris Sale and 2B/3B Brett Lawrie to the Boston Red Sox for 2B Yoan Moncada, OF Andrew Benintendi, SP Michael Kopech, 3B Rafael Devers, and C/OF Blake Swihart RP David Robertson to the Texas Rangers for OF Joey Gallo LF Melky Cabrera to the Giants for SP Tyler Beede SP Jose Quintana to the Dodgers for SP Julio Urias, OF Alex Verdugo, and SP Jose De Leon 3B Todd Frazier to the Astros for SP Francis Martes and RP Riley Ferrell RF Adam Eaton (L) SS Tim Anderson 1B Jose Abreu CF Carlos Gomez 2B Yoan Moncada (L) LF Andrew Benintendi (L) DH Joey Gallo (L) 3B Tyler Saladino C Blake Swihart (S) C Omar Narvaez (L), OF Charlie Tilson (L), 2B/SS Carlos Sanchez (S), 1B/3B Luis Valbuena (L) SP James Shields SP Carlos Rodon (L) SP Ivan Nova SP Julio Urias (L) SP Miguel Gonzalez RP Anthony Raunado RP Jake Petricka RP Tommy Kahnle RP Dan Jennings (L) RP Will Lamb (L) RP Nate Jones RP Zack Burdi Thoughts?
  6. Levine reporting that KW isn't stepping down lol
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 07:56 AM) Reinsdorf no doubt wants to win, but it has to be done his way. And quite frankly, that's the problem. He's not willing to go above and beyond what's necessary to overcome our poor farm system in order to build a winner. Signing a bunch of B free agents and never going into the red isn't going to cut it when we get very little help from the minors. He doesn't like utilizing loopholes, such as refusing to go over slot for years in the draft, and he's generally never been a big supporter of investing large dollars into said minor league system (with a few exceptions). Worst of all, he's built an organization with no accountability. How Buddy Bell is still here after years of development failure is beyond belief. The same arguably applies to KW, Hahn, & Ventura. Combine these factors amongst others, and it's no wonder we're stuck in baseball hell right now. I've never been a Reinsdorf hater, but we desperately need fresh blood at the top of this organzation. I think the Tigers are the perfect example. Old owner who wants to win and will sign good players to keep them in the hunt each year. Sure, the contracts will hurt as those players get older, but if you want to win now, why not? Have the next owner/regime figure out that problem. Then you have the Sox, they sign Rollins, Latos, Albers, and Jackson lol.
  8. Nightengale said did anyone really think the Sox were gonna make the playoffs in any of the last 4 years. Didn't he pick the Sox to make the playoffs in 2015? Pretty sure Pedro Gomez picked them to win the WS. Also, pretty sure Rosenthal picked them to go to the playoffs too. This article is straight from KW in my opinion. Fearless and unpopular decisions lol. My god, this is the worst piece I've seen from BN. By the way, if Robin is the manager next year and we trade Sale, I'm not going to a single game.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 07:47 AM) I think Collins and Hansen will be on top 100 lists. Burdi won't be on Law's list but I bet all 3 are on other lists. If Hawk is right, and the Sox do go for it again. I bet the Sox trade Hansen and Fulmer leaving Collins as the lone top 100 prospect.
  10. I have won my very complex league that I was telling all you about in our 2nd year in existence. 3rd place last year and 1st this year. 5-1 in the playoffs for the Hahn Jobs
  11. Boat hit a Jetty full speed, boat was flipped 30 feet in the air landing upside down. So incredibly sad.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) Around 3 AM a 30 foot boat was spotted upside down on the rock jetty. Two bodies under the vessel, one in the water, dead on the scene. Weird press conference, lots of giggles before it actually started. Wow. Just wow.
  13. Coast Guard going on ESPN SportsCenter at 930. If anyone can watch and give a summary, that would be great.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) He'll always be a "could have been a Hall of Famer". We'll never know what he would have done over the next 15 years. It's so sad. I can't imagine what his family and teammates are feeling right now. Even the White Sox Dan Jennings, I feel bad for. I think everyone in the MLB is sick from this news.
  15. I almost feel like crying. Just in complete shock. Kid is my age with such a great future. On his Instagram a couple days ago, he posted a picture of his girlfriend....pregnant. So sad.
  16. Deserves his own thread. Truly a star and a great personality. So sad to see him go.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 11:39 PM) Renting the Cell out for concerts is a dumb idea. Sox must need the money. Sorry Greg, you're wrong on all levels here.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) He's healthy. At worst he gets 75% of the work load. Bell is probably the best RB in the NFL. Very well could be, but Williams has been really, really good in his absence. Was last year too.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 09:00 AM) I'm somehow tied 5-5 with 3 days left and I hold the tie breaker. Atta boy, I'm up 9-1 (12 categories) and hold the tie breaker as well. My opponent has 5 O's players (he's an O's fan) and that's what's been killing him this week. Hopefully it continues into the weekend.
  20. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) I got offered Jarvis Landry for Latavius Murray. Hmm...no idea what to do here. Non-PPR league, but my team is already WR heavy with Hopkins, Decker, Baldwin, Fuller, Wallace. And my RBs are Murray, Gordon, Crowell, Bernard, Asiata. Or should I do the deal, and then try to trade Hopkins for an RB1? So my top 2 WR would be Landry/Decker. And my top 2 RB would be something like David Johnson/Elliot/some other top RB and then Gordon with Crowell/Baldwin as my flex options? QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 02:40 PM) Or should I try to expand the trade to something like Hopkins and Murray for Landry and LeVeon Bell? I'm a huge fan of Landry as I think Murray is too inconsistent. You are heavy with WRs though, but I think the Hopkins for Bell is not a good deal for you. Williams has been really good for the Steelers, so I don't think Bell will get a huge workload when he comes back. I'd target Elliot, Johnson for Hopkins
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Lets see what new Quarterback the Patriots can win with next week. Tim Tebow
  22. Anybody watch the premiere of Pitch? It's about the first woman playing professional baseball. I'm watching the first episode now and it's not terrible. I'll watch next week.
