  1. Yes they do. But that’ll be the scrappiest of scrap heaps in March. Probably 50/50 it’s Engel.
  2. Huh? The position they have to fill voa trade or FA is an OF. They can go internal at 2B. Nothing you’re saying is making any sense. Everyone was penciling Colas into their 2023 OFs, what people were likely telling you is that he’s unlikely to break camp with the Sox. He still shouldn’t, but feels more likely now than ever. Sox should really sign someone like Conforto + someone like Frazier who can play OF for a few weeks until Colas arrives.
  3. The Sox need 2 OFs. I doubt anyone argued that Colas would be 1 of them coming June 2023.
  4. He's especially awful.
  5. Merkin is so bad at his job.
  6. I’d love getting Lamahieu. Last year or two of that deal might suck a bit but he’s a great fit. Doubt NYY would hand him over tho.
  7. Yeah I mean I was mostly just kidding but if you’re gonna trade TA + Hendriks, I want an elite near MLB ready prospect back.
  8. How about this video game trade, just for shits and giggles: TA + Hendriks + Grandal for Volpe + Wells + Dievi Garcia + Donaldson + $15M (covers difference in Grandal/Donaldson pay + $8M buyout + a bit) LOLZ. f*** Donaldson.
  9. Same. Dude was really good until September. He's a fantastic 4/5 starter to pair with the rest of this group.
  10. Hey! All the teams interested in our made up TA rumor, plus the Twins. Am really curious what the Twins pivot to if they miss out on Correa and Swanson. Part of me wants them to win the Swanson bidding because I think that could be a franchise altering move in a bad way.
  11. Jose Abreu and Joey Gallo's fWAR per game played are nearly identical. Joey Gallo is a very flawed player, but pointing to his batting average as the sole determining factor of his value is really, really dumb.
  12. Aaaaand Sox have quite literally no SP depth.
  13. The other real head scratcher here is Pina makes $4.5M in 2023 with a $4M player option for 2024. So unlike the A's. You'd sure think they'd prefer Seby to Pina based on the cost alone. Clearly the A's wanted some pitching back, getting 2 MLB ready arms. The Sox clearly don't have the upper minors pitching depth the A's wanted.
  14. Ramos, Sosa, Vera, Rodriguez, Schultz, Burke, and Mena are all legitimate prospects
  15. I am not disappointed the Sox didn't acquire Murphy as if we're going to be firing off our limited bullets, I'd prefer it before for something other than the catcher position. But that return is so questionable. Like how did the Brewers finagle their way into this thing. Very strange.
  16. We have several prospects not named Montgomery or Colas better than the trash the A's just got back for Murphy who was supposed to be highly coveted...
  17. Well, I mean they did. The Sox have had their two highest payrolls in club history in 2021 and 2022, with 2022 being $65M higher than ever before. They will again either have the highest or 2nd highest highest payroll in franchise history in 2023. So while we can argue until we're blue in the face about how exactly that money was spent, it was in fact spent. This is no way an excuse for JR or management. They should 100% be all the way up near the luxury tax threshold in 2023. The fact that they aren't is embarrassing. But when you take a step back and put it in all into context, they did in fact spend the money. They just did it really poorly.
  18. Diekman, perhaps. Leury isn't moveable at all. Kelly I actually think will have a solid season. The arm is there. I don't think he'll be worthless in 23, tbh.
  19. With these contracts being given out, Diekman is probably tradable tbh. It was a dumb trade and Diekman has no value, but I am fairly certain someone would take him from the Sox for minor league filler.
  20. I have little doubt the Sox at least have some interest in Gallo. But I’d they’re only going to acquire one starting caliber OF, I don’t want them exploring the trade market first before settling.
  21. Several packages have been thrown around in this thread. LAD have like 7 top 100 prospects and a few more just outside that are MLB ready. They definitely have the bullets. I think the general consensus here is that LAD needs Lux even with TA around. They’re pretty thin atm.
  22. I mean, realistically, if you're trading TA you may as well trade everyone of value controlled 2 years or less, because we aren't winning anything in 2023 with Elvis Andrus or Romy Gonzalez or Leury Garcia manning SS along with gaping holes in LF, RF and 2B.
  23. ATL and MN also definitely in the SS market along with LAD, SF and Cubs. Boston as well. DBacks could also be a surprise team in the SS trade market.
