Orrr, Sox could just spend ~$200M like they did in 2022, sign Nimmo and a decent 5th SP, and keep Hendriks. A lot of $ comes off the books after 2023 anyway.

I don't see how this team is better without Liam Hendriks, unless the Sox know he's never going to be healthy.

Probably. Sox aren’t measurably improving from the Yaz, Seby, Perez situation. Just have to hope Yaz can get his bottom half right and be useful part time catcher next year. I think it’s possible. Supposedly his right knee was just awful all season. I don’t think we’ll get pre-22 Yaz back, but if he can get that OBP up around .330 and run into a few, he’ll be useful. You're paying him $18.25M regardless, and he isn't returning anything and Sox would have to eat most of his contract to move him. May as well just see what you get in April and May before making a decision.

Why would Bennetti leave if Sox allow him to continue to double dip? It’s not like any other sports he calls are daily during the summer.

I am not even sure it id trade three seasons of Cease for Ohtani. Cease is probably the better pitcher right now and you get him for 3 years as opposed to 1 year of Ohtani at $30M. The proposed offer would have been accepted so fast by LAAAAA.

This is really what it comes down to. We need improvement from TA, Robert and Moncada. And big improvement. I mean, we got 2 RBI from Robert in the second half. He was essentially worthless and he’s got 6-8 WAR upside. Those guys bouncing back, coupled with getting AV out of the OF and signing someone like Nimmo or even Conforto, and contributions from Colas….this team can eat up that 13 games win difference from 21 to 22 in a hurry.

Just sign Nimmo. The rest is primarily hogwash, even if some of it may be true. But yeah, sign Nimmo.

He’s also supposed to be the leader of this team and while it’s not completely his fault by any means, this team was a rudderless ship. That coupled with the drop in power and sketchy defense at times gets a B- from me.

You’re also assuming that no one improves on this scenario. The Sox are fucked if TA, Yoan, Robert and Eloy don’t play more games and are better than they were in 22. I think we all can agree on that.

His biggest role was answering the phone from one of the other most worthless members of the coaching staff - the guy who makes the replay review decisions. Talk about a trio of worthlessness - replay guys to Duncan to TLR.

Sheets has next to no value. He's far more valuable to the Sox as an Eloy injury replacement in AAA / 1 month fill in for until Colas arrives than anything he is fetching on the trade market.

We are going to have to live with this FO until 1 of three things happen: 1) Jerry dies. 2) Jerry sells the team. 3) KW stays to his word and retires whenever this contract is up. Nothing is happening until one of those 3 happens.

Yeah, I do too but not exactly things I can do a nightly basis. I have next to no interest in football. I like college hoops, but doesn't return for another month. Lots of boring weeknights without baseball at my place. I got my first kid on the way though, that'll change things in a hurry lol.

Glad the season is OVAH. It was brutal. But I already struggling to find things to do with my evenings. Its a looooooong 6 months waiting for my passion to return.
