  1. No one in the NL knows how to hit I thought? Shouldn’t be an issue in your book!
  2. This. Sox really need to do a better job building a rotation in Charlotte. Just a pitiful job this year. Absolutely insane Hahn kept claiming and retaining just awful relievers on the 40 man and never brought in SP. Just terrible.
  3. Looks like Matt Zaleski is in the dugout tonight. Good for him.
  4. I'd like to see Carlos Perez get at least 3 starts rest of the way. I know his 1 game was really rough, but hopefully just nerves. We're gonna need him some next season, so would be nice to get his feet wet.
  5. Yeah, I don't think you're right here at all, but time will tell.
  6. The history you're suggesting is a wildly limited sample size. Ignoring half the league based on some stupid thought that any NL player will fail in Chicago is well....stupid.
  7. I actually don't hate the trade TA idea. It just depends on what the offers look like. TA should have a good bit of value, he's not a good SS, and I am speculating here, but the whole ASG announcement thing and clear lack of leadership in clubhouse this season makes me think he may not be favorite in the clubhouse. If you can get a nice return for him, I'd be open to it...he only has 2 years of control. That being said, my price to move TA would be very high, I am not just moving him to the highest bidder. You also need to find a SS now in that scenarioideally one that can field their position. We all know the Sox won't be in the running for the high end FAs. Also, your avoid all NL players take continues to be just an awful one.
  8. Opt out of Anderson? My lord, what a terrible take.
  9. And will likely sign something like 5/$150M. Wise choice, if you ask me.
  10. But you'd rather go through a protracted rebuild lasting at least 3-4 seasons when there is still a nucleus of a talented team intact, in a poor division? Also, the only guys on the Sox worth a damn at the moment are Cease, TA, Robert, AV and Kopech. All are controlled beyond 2023. Trading the rest (Lynn, Giolito, Moncada, Eloy, Hendriks, Bummer, Graveman, Lopez) are going to make the 2023 team much worse, while not measurably impacting the future. It doesn't make any sense.
  11. He is 100% correct. And good for him for saying it.
  12. I would like to finish in front of the Twins. I personally DGAF about the 14 basis point increase in the lottery. So let's go 3-3 or better to finish, please.
  13. We both know there is 0% chance they go that direction.
  14. He was awful. No argument there. He also has a career OPS, including this season, of .762. It’s unlikely he forgot how to hit at age 27. He’s also an elite defender. Not a perfect player and definitely not what we hoped he would be, but he’s still very useful and has the ability to bounce back to his career norms making himself a well above average player.
  15. You also cannot continue to play two 1B in the OF. So something has to give...
  16. Also at about 15-20% of the cost. He won't have an options which is unfortunate, so he may not survive the offseason on the 40 man. But yes, Engel should be non-tendered.
  17. Why in the world would they not bring in their closer in a close situation?
  18. Best at bat I've seen in months from the Sox there from Payton. And he gets rewarded with the error, and guess what..he ends at 2B on an infield popup because he hustled. Dude needs to play every day rest of the way.
  19. Its not going to drop to $170M. What happens if the entire Sox team suddenly all pass away this offseason? Then what!?! Is $170M going to be this off-season's version of your argument last offseason that the luxury tax won't increase above $210M that you stated everyday all last offseason as if it was fact?
  20. You’re not getting a lot for him. Sox are far better off betting on Lucas - who has already bet on himself - than trading him. I for the life of me cannot wrap my head the trade Lucas crowd. It makes less than no sense.
  21. There is a 0% chance the Sox strip this down and rebuild. It’s not worth discussing.
