  1. It’s a like 1 game difference in innings. You can hide AV in the OF. He’s not good; but he’s fine. Burger is a bad 3B and you can’t really hide a guy there. He’s made a ton of huge errors in big spots on fairly routine plays. I like the guy; nothing against him. But he definitely is a bad defensive 3B right now.
  2. Totally agreed. I am not in the play Burger at 3B camp. He's brutal over there. It should be a no go against good teams; fine mixing him in there a time or two against Baltimore this weekend.
  3. Good to see the disheartened are getting hoovered back in. Just split the next 2 and get 3/4 from Bal and a 5-2 week would be pretty great.
  4. Probably. But I think the Sox have signaled their intentions at this point.
  5. Pollock hasn't played RF in 7 weeks. He probably won't be anytime soon.
  6. Engel is 4 for his last 30 and has looked brutal at the plate. The other three are hitting it pretty well tho.
  7. Yeah, sorta done watching Engel right now. I like him overall, but he's been rough lately. Not really sure what purpose Haseley serves if he isn't going to play against RHP. Jake is just 2/15 since returning from the IL. I am fine with him getting the night off.
  8. Welp, looks like I will get 1 correct. #RIPELOY
  9. I think this is the play. Harrison sure picked it at 2B yesterday, but just don't think we can afford to run Jake out there at 3B everyday until Yoan is back. Maybe against bad teams, but cannot give the good ones extra outs to play with. Still so curious to see how they play out the Pollock/AV/Eloy/Burger logjam at LF/RF/DH upon Eloy's return (and Yoan, for that matter). Hoping its a situation we find ourselves in, frankly. Pollock hasn't played RF since May 6th!!! Pretty obvious they don't intend to move him back to RF. Eloy isn't playing RF. This would seem to indicate Pollock LF, AV RF and Eloy DH is the plan, but I will believe it when I see it on the Sox ending Eloy's escapades in LF.
  10. I think Crochet had a chance to be a starter in 23 with an increased workload in 22 including some spot starts to get the innings up. Call it the Kopech model, if you will. With the TJS, the only chance he is a SP moving forward is if he spends all/most of 2023 in the minors getting stretched out. I don't think the Sox would be willing to "waste" his arm in the minors; nor do I think Garrett would be pleased spending a season+ in the minors. Is it possible? Sure. I just don't see the stars aligning for it to happen.
  11. Sucks to have a tax situation potentially impact a players development, but I get it from the players perspective.
  12. Is Chapelli required to stay in the DSL for a set amount of time this season? He's 20 YO, so I don't think a stateside assignment in a month or so would be crazy.
  13. I am not too concerned about Cleveland. Though I'd love to see them pound the Twins next few days. Realistically though, the Sox can't really worry too much about other teams until the put .500 and below in the rearview mirror for good.
  14. 1 game doesn’t change how awful he’s been but it was indeed a nice game. He’s not as bad as he’s been, that’s for sure.
  15. Tray is typing up a message on his defense and baserunning as we speak!
  16. Looks like Josh is here to stay for now. Big hit
  17. Didn’t miss watching Chapman steal hits from out boys since our visit north.
