  1. Get Yamamoto in here for a couple starts. He’s in DFA limbo.
  2. Get his ass on the IL then and get another arm up here. Sox need to find a way to find another starter or two that is stretched out and isn’t complete trash asap.
  3. I fully expect Leury and to a lesser extent AV to get plenty of reps at 3B while Yoan is down. TLR is just crazy enough to play AV there; in fact, I expect it tomorrow .
  4. Nothing quite like making AV a short side platoon player a week after turning 24.
  5. That’s not gonna happen. Tho AV and Eloy should split LF and DH. Pollock will be fine in RF. It’s one play. He’ll get more comfy.
  6. He will figure it out out there. But yeah, that’s a play he’s gotta make.
  7. At least it’s not arm or shoulder. Worst case we’re prob dealing with an oblique strain like Yoan and just miss a couple weeks. Still far far far from ideal.
  8. Probably soon. But wouldn’t be mid season.
  9. You don’t even need to “resign” him. He just stays in the org but is off the 40 man. But as others have said, that scenario simply isn’t happening. It is a bummer. Seems like Micker is widely liked around here. Sure know he was my fave prospect before the rebuild even. My Soxtalk homepage still says as much lol
  10. In one of DVS articles he tweeted today, had a quote from TLR to expect to see AV at 3B at some point.
  11. Gary Sanchez won't be catching much. Jeffers is going to be primary catcher. They have a good offense, albeit one that won't take many walks. Even Buxton has a career OBP of just .299. Guys they added besides Correa are all low OBP guys. But if Correa and Buck stay healthy, they're going to hang around .500 even with the pitching. But hte pitching staff really is horrible. Its worse than last year. Berrios and Meada both gone, and those would be their 2 best pitchers. I've never been a huge Sonny Gray guy, he's solid enough, but as their ace? Gross. Lost their best pen piece today in an already awful group of relievers. I just don't see it. I think Correa is playing somewhere else by mid July.
  12. For sure. Just seems unlikely. They’d basically be negotiating against themselves.
  13. O's have absolutely zero reason to offer the Sox anything. They get first dibs.
  14. Still not convinced the Twins are actually better than they were last year in terms of raw talent on the roster. They got buried by a terrible start, but talent-wise, I am not convinced they improved. I do expect them to play better than 73-89 baseball, but still think they're going to max out within 3-4 games of .500 one way or the other, unless they trade off Correa, Gray, Kepler, etc midseason.
  15. For instance a team like the Nats might be itnerested in him. They're pretty thin in the OF corners after Soto. They just DFA'd some cat named Gabe Klobosits yesterday. 6'8' righty with great numbers in AA/AAA last season, but hot hit around in a small cup of coffee. He still has 2 options and could be a fit in a Micker trade. Sox may value the open 40 man spot more than him, but a trade like that would make some sense.
  16. Sox have 7 days to try to trade him. At any point during that 7 days he can be placed on irrevocable waivers. But if he gets put on irrevocable waivers and is claimed (highly likely he will get claimed), he's gone for nothing. If he happens to clear, he can be sent to Charlotte. Sox will probably wait until Sunday/Monday to see if anyone offers something up and if not, then try to get him thru waivers if they don't get any offers. But he'll get claimed, likely by the O's, the team with the first dibs. Only positive to that, is that if any of the other 28 clubs want him, they pretty much have to trade for him.
  17. I couldn't fathom a day where I'd long for Ricky to be the manager again. Well, until last April.
  18. Worth noting that the Sox placed Crochet on the 10 day IL. So they should still have a 40 man spot to play with. Same with Yerm - while he probably won't need 2 months, dude is highly unlikely to ever make it back to Chicago, so they could put him on 60 day as well and just worry about the spot then. So perhaps up to 2 spots.
