I hope they give up Larnach for a damaged Paddack. That would be bonkers and I’m huge Paddack guy.
Paddack is prob a coin flip to survive this season without TJS and he’s a non tender candidate next year if he gets it.
while I tend to agree that I’d rather carry Micker than Mendick, sounds like the Decision was already made. Micker isn’t on the roster. So he’s either traded next 36 hours or DFAd.
I don’t disagree that Sheets should be playing everyday somewhere. Chances are injuries will happen and both will get daily reps with the Sox most of the time. But as things sit right now, it’s Sheets riding the pine pony most days, not Vaughn. I don’t know why this is so hard for some people to grasp here (not directed as you). The Sox are not having AV sit on the bench against most RHP. Guy is going to be an elite offensive player in this league. I liked what I saw from Gavin last year and obviously the Sox need more balance in the lineup, but playing Sheets over AV regularly simply isn’t going to happen.
Probably more by default. Not like the Sox have a plethora of options. I guess I probably would have gone with ReyLo myself, but my guess is they're saving ReyLo to piggyback Kopech.
Would they even bother bringing him to Detroit? Sounds like the OD roster is set and he is not on it. Probably makes sense to just leave him in AZ until he finds a new home.
Well when you have arguably the best catcher in the game, there’s gonna be a dropoff. Fangraphs quite literally just yesterday ranked Sox #1 in terms of catcher depth chart after the trade. So yeah..
Almost none. He'd just be there in case one of our oft-injured OFs (and frankly, they all pretty much fit the bill), hit the IL in April. Whether the 14th position player is Micker, Mendick or Seby, none of them will play.
