Grandal is really really good. Batting average is mostly irrelevant when your OBP is .390. I would agree his defense has been underwhelming but it’s far far better than brutal.

The Twins will not trade anyone controlled past 2021 (Buxton, Berrios, Kepler, Polanco, Rogers, etc) unless they get an offer they absolutely cannot refuse. They're asking for the moon for Berrios.

Yah, that Grandal guy really sucks! I know I sure wish we could sit our elite offensive catcher (wRC+ 135 in 2021) and play McCann and his wRC+ of 97 more! Grandal is one of the best 2-3 catchers in the game. It sucks ball he got hurt, but this team doesn't need James McCann.

You can’t pay McCann $40m to be the backup. It was never a realistic option.

Yeah. Carlos Perez could probably be the backup next season. He turns 25 in September.

Not sure how the Sox could trade Collins right now. He’s been pretty bad but until Yaz is back and can prove he can catch 5x a week, trading Collins would be an interesting move.

Eloy should be at DH all but once or twice a week. The occasional LF start, shift Vaughn to DH, or maybe occasionally RF just to get his feet wet there. I don't want Eloy and Vaughn at the corners often, but it will need to happen sometimes....especially in NL parks.

Huge is probably a bit much. They got two 25 year old dudes who, if they pan out, will be backend SP options. Not bad for a 2 month rental (plus a minor league with a big arm), but huge is a stretch.

I highly doubt Toronto sells off pieces.

Goodwin defense is stellar? Man, hard disagree there. He’s been really good stopgap overall, but he’s a well below average OF, especially in CF.

Buxton is controlled for 1 year and can’t stay healthy. And his best asset is playing CF, and we have a pretty good one of those. Trading Vaughn for Buxton, which will never happen btw, would be an incredibly shortsighted move.

Yeah. Was trying to be realistic based off the rumored ask for Story to the Yanks. I’d probably make that deal without Dalquist and if Rox picked up more $. I’d take Marquez over Cease next two years. Burger is blocked. Adolfo is purely clearing 40 man space. Sure we punt some control of Cease on the backend, but if you have Marquez, Cease probably isn’t in the rotation anymore if everyone is healthy. Again, just a video game trade for discussion.
