  1. I don't play video games anymore, but may have to get a PS4 for MLB the Show 20 coming out next week. Then again, that shit will just give me baseball withdrawals.
  2. Everything sucks. Its kind of sad, but my life legit revolves around sports. Not sure WTF I am going to do with myself now. I don't even want to go the germfest that is the gym to burn some stress. The best 10 days of the year (cbb conf tourneys and march madness) cancelled. MLB delayed for the foreseeable future. My other hobby of playing poker is legit probably the worst possible place for spread of this shit. My enjoyment of day trading is virtually sapped as I (any everyone else) have just been crushed for weeks and am getting close to tapped out. So bummed. Weird times.

0% chance Madrigal is on the OD roster.
  4. An easy solution if they had to postpone the start of the regular season by a couple weeks would be trimming down the insane amount of off days in the playoffs. But seriously, this sucks. Chances MLB starts on time are pretty low right now.
  5. I think they'll run him out there most days until Madrigal arrives. Then Leury will platoon with him.

Zavala optioned to AAA. Burdi, Flores, Adolofo, Basabe and Rutherford optioned to AA. Guerrero, Mitchell, Frate, Medeiros and Tomshaw re-assigned to minor league camp.
  7. Sure. But Madrigal (and Grandal too) are the perfect complements to the rest of the lineup that can be a little free swinging and higher K rates. He's not sexy, but give me a .295/.335/.405 type performance next couple seasons with uber low K rate and elite 2B defense all day with the rest of this lineup.
  8. Carson having a nice ST. He'll be the the last man out of the pen to start the year.
  9. Noted. I am sure we won't see you complaining about EE playing over Yermin then. Having depth is a nice for once. Yermin will get a chance if he goes to AAA and continues to rake.
  10. Is that going to be your bit this year? Complaining about spending a pittance on a legit DH instead of just rolling with Collins/Mercedes? You would have crucified Hahn if they did that and those two flopped as the DH.
  11. Man, I know it’s a pipe dream but you put Betts in RF on this team in 2021-2030. Holy guacamole.

Foster optioned to AAA. Dunning and Lambert optioned to AA. Burr, Stiever, Schryver and Skole assigned to minor league camp. 60 left in MLB camp - 32 P, 6 catchers, 11 infielders and 11 OFs.
  13. I am quite confident the Sox will be paying Moncada more over the next 4 season than they would have via the arb process. He wasn't making $41M the next 4 years. But its really about the 2 extra years of team control, 1 of which is an option. Awesome deal for both sides - glad it got done!
  14. Yah, thanks for breaking it down like that. Definitely worth noting. But July lands in the 2nd half, and his 2nd half line was was .226/.281/.413 and his career numbers are .247/.297/.387. I like McCann. I think he makes a fantastic backup that frankly is a bit of luxury. But there is no point in just punting him off for minimal return.
  15. Yah, well...such is life I guess. Guy was non-tendered by one of the worst teams in baseball 15 months ago. Sure he had a nice 2019, but it was largely inflated by a great 3 months to start the season, and he was basically the guy he'd always been the 2nd half. I feel for the guy a bit, but this is the way things go in professional sports sometimes. He'll be fine.
  16. I don't think McCann returns much, and Collins/Mercedes are more gadget/third catchers, so I'd hold onto him. McCann isn't going to create a clubhouse stir.
  17. Seeing as though he spent the second half of last season in Birmingham, I HIGHLY doubt they send him to WS.
  18. I would have bet alot of money that Moncada would have been closer to $6M than $11M in his arb1 season.
  19. Moncada would not have gotten $11M in his arb 1 season unless he won an MVP in 2020.
  20. Bryant was a super 2, so that makes an enormous difference. Yoan is making $600k this year. The most generous arb1 raise would be to like $7M, then arb2 to like $12M, and arb3 to like $18M. That is $37.5M assuming he's an absolute stud. Now he's guaranteed $70M over 5. This is not bad for Yoan no matter how much you want to try to spin this negatively.
