I think you basically need to play Benintendi mostly everyday against RHP, at least for now. Sox still owe him like $65M. Absolutely have to try to find a serviceable player out of him, especially in a lost season.

I doubt it. Getz literally said Friday that Robert may only miss 6 weeks. Seems unlikely to make that statement and then guarantee 8 weeks 72 hours later. Davis Martin 60 day is my guess. And good for the Sox to secure the extra year. 32 starts of a potentially decent to good SP in a potentially competitive season >>>>> 2 more starts in a punted one.

I think the idea was that they didn’t know the extent of Yoans injury until the next day and Colas was the only healthy position player on the 40 man. But yeah…we’re on same page that Colas should have just stayed.

They probably don’t want to lose Mendick and don’t really care if they have to DFA Remillard again in a few days when Eloy is ready.

Also shift Yoan to 60 day.

Hopefully. He should be playing RF every single day to be honest. There is zero good reason to play Grossman and/or Pillar over Colas at this point. If the Sox had started 8-4 or something, I could see the arguement. I was fine with Colas starting in AAA this year. But considering the injuries and state of the roster, Colas should absolutely be playing. Even if he boned Pedro's daughter, or whatever he did to get deep in the doghouse.
