I mean if the guy hits .450 in AA, you bring him up. If he takes a step back, does well, but isn't lighting the world on fire like he did A+, I don't see the point in pushing him to the big leagues this season.

The fact that he is 350 pro at bats is a pretty good reason to not rush him to the big leagues, IMO.

The Sox don't need to promote him until OD 2021. There is plenty of time. But yes, he needs to stay on the field. Anyone know how serious the current injury is?

Way too much time to be giving up hope on Adolfo. He's still recovering from TJS. Obviously hoping the current injury is minor.

Adolfo will not be out of options until the 2021 season. He can still spend another 1.75 years in the minors. That should be plenty of time for him to sink or swim.

I mean, he’s hurt right now. And I don’t believe he’s played any OF to this point due to his elbow, which I believe is his current injury. Not super encouraging, but I am still a big Adolfo fan. They’re gonna get him his abs when he’s healthy.

Yah, I just want all 5 of those guys getting as many ABs as possible. Hard to do with them all on the same roster.

where are all these OF in AA going to play? Gonzalez, Rutherford, Basabe, Adolfo and Robert are all on the AA roster now. I know Adolfo is on the DL right now, but there are still 4 guys that should be playing everyday, and 5 once he comes back. Maybe Basabe or Gonzalez to AAA and Guyer or Tucker released when that happens.

If the sox are going to bring him up this year, this is the route I would prefer. Otherwise just wait until this time next year and secure the extra season. For the love of god, don't just promote him late August or September. So stupid IMO.

With Eloy on the shelf, the OF is so ugly. I am totally cool with running Leury out in CF everyday - he's been pretty useful. But with Eloy out, shifting Leury to LF and having to play Engel is so gross.

Lol, use whatever term you want. Ottavino has not been good / has been bad. Same shit. He's been FAR worse than Colome for the first ~20% of the season.

Ottavino has a 1.395 WHIP and 11 walks in 14.1 innings. He has not been very good.

All of whom have been pretty sad. SSS and all, but pretty much all the relievers signed last winter have been terrible. Meanwhile, Colome (and Herrera) have been fantastic.

If he keeps pitching like he is right now, someone will give us a nice prospect or two for him in July. That is far more useful to the Sox than a bat only catcher with an extremely young pitching staff. I wasn't a fan of the trade when it happened. But I am now.

Colome is going to the return something far more valuable than Narvaez. It was a good trade. Narvaez can hit a bit, but he is an awful catcher, especially for a young staff.

Do we expect Robert to be a consensus top 5 prospect when the mid-season prospect ranking updates come out? I can't imagine there are 5 minor leagues with more talent and upside than him. His current rankings, while they make some sense due to his injuries last season and rawness, look completely silly at the moment.

Maybe its time we let the Sox take it slow with their kids. What is the rush? obviously he is too good for high A and will be in AA before long. Its all good.

Hoping for a quick recovery from Adolfo. He is still my pick of the guy that is going to blow up and turn into a force with the Sox.

Eloy has looked pretty much awful in the OF. But as I mentioned in another thread, moving him to 1B or DH right now would be crazy. He just spent $45M on the guy...we need him in the OF. You can always make him a DH down the line, and that will likely be necessary, but right now is not the time. Hopefully he can improve out there.

Now is not the time to make Eloy a DH. The Sox can always do that later. Please stop banging this drum for the time being.
