  1. People who dissect prospects for a living have him ranked the 2nd best prospect out of 2018 draft. Your bolded comment had no basis in reality other than just throwing shit at a wall.
  2. 1. Baltimore 2. KC 3 GB 3. San Diego 12 GB 4. White Sox 14.5 GB 5. Miami 15.5 GB 6. Detroit 16 GB
  3. I hope they option him first if that’s the case.
  4. If they’re trying to fix him, you’d think that’s let him throw some more pitches..
  5. Why is he throwing so few pitches? First 2 starts in WS: 2 IP (39 pitches), 2 hits, 2 walks ,1 K, O ER 3 IP (50 pitches), 4 hits, 0 walks, 6 K, 2 ER 4 IP (75 pitches), 2 hits, 5 walks, 5 K, 1 ER Seems like he's get an awfully quick hook.
  6. San Diego only 0.5 GB of the Sox for 3rd pick. Miami 2 GB. I think the Sox pick 5th.
  7. They should start giving Narvaez some reps at 1B with Jose out once the rosters expand in a week. Wouldn't hurt to have that flexibility next season.
  8. Not that my opinion means much, but this isn't that bad. Kid was chatting with with buddies on a social media site. Did he say some dumb shit? Sure. Should he have been smarter than to do it on a public forum? For sure. But like someone else said, pretty much any guy that is 18-35 (I only use that range because I am in the middle of it) said dumb shit like that when they were teenagers.
  9. Eeeeek. Jace Fry had some pretty bad ones that someone dug out a week or two ago as well.
  10. You're kind of cranky dude. I apologize I missed it. No need to be a internet tough guy over a simple question (that I edited), especially when I wasn't even talking to you.
  11. Why would Morton retire? Did I miss something? edit: nevermind, I see you already answered that.
  12. Just block him and other stop quoting him. Problem solved.
  13. Cordell has missed the majority of the season with a back injury. I believe he is OPSing over .800 since his return. Realistically with Leury hurt, Cordell should be up getting regular at bats over a guy like Ryan LaMarre. Cordell is probably nothing, but they're going to give him a shot at some point.
  14. Things look pretty bleak without Jose in there.
  15. Castillo placed on DL this morning with "shoulder inflammation". His suspension must have been up. Sox twitter says he will continue to rehab in Charlotte.
  16. This would be great. But why would Eloy do that? He seems like a confident dude. Me thinks he'd rather bet on himself.
  17. The Sox are doing the right thing here. Long term, 162 games in a potentially meaningful season is far more valuable (even if is an expensive season) than 40ish in a lost season.
  18. I assumed he'd go Sunday on regular rest. I'd be a little surprised to see him go Friday on short rest even though he had an abbreviated start on Tuesday. I figured they'd go Shields (Thur), Lopez (Fri), Gio (Sat), and Kopech (Sun). But I see what you're saying with the listed probables today.
  19. I don't see the Sox outrighting Cordell or Rondon this offseason. I think they'd probably rather hang onto Clarkin too. But the point still remains.
  20. Wouldn't hate a 3 run bomb off Hector here.
  21. Its not quite that simple. Just because someone didn't claim a player doesn't mean they wouldn't be interested in acquiring said player simply at the price of his salary. Teams that are out of the race aren't giving up assets for a reliever at this point. So ignore them. Teams that could use bullpen help in the AL, like the Indians for example, know the Sox aren't just going to hand him over for free. So if you put in a claim, you know you're going to at least going to have to give up some asset to get him.
  22. If they really didn't want him in 2019, they could have non-tendered him and had an extra 40 man spot to protect someone from the rule 5. Basically puts us in the same spot we are today. I don't pretend to think that I can do Rick Hahn's job better than him, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he either believes Paulino was as good as it was going to get or that he's actually more interesting than his reports and numbers indicate. But from the outside looking in, it looks like a nothing/garbage return on a useful LH reliever that isn't paid much and still has 1.25 years of control. Similar pitchers with less control (Zach Duke) returned more in recent weeks. I just think it was possible to play the long game here and end up a little ahead of where they did, but ultimately, we're bordering on splitting hairs, so I will just leave it at that.
