QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) I highly doubt the White Sox are going to be taking salary on this year. I doubt it too. But they should at least be open to it. Not necessarily for Panda, but just in general.

Via Twitter. Assigned to Charlotte. Appeared in a couple games with Nats this year.

Is this off-season the time to add a cheap 1b?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 10:23 AM) I don't mind rolling with Delmonico and/or Hayes at 1B with Abreu the primary DH while still getting semi-consistent at bats throughout the season. Abreu semi-consistent at bats, or Delmonico/Hayes? -
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) Who or what did we give up for Youkilis? Lillibridge and Zach Stewart.

Burdi has not earned a call up. Keep him in AAA this year.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) How much leverage does Skoug really have though? Sure, he can return to school for his senior season, but he is then banking on being drafted higher when teams continued to pass on him round after round. He would have no leverage as a senior signing and his stock could fall, or he could get injured? Exactly. He'll probably sign a little overslot, but not multiple hundreds of thousands.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 09:06 AM) Andujar has to prove that he can hit over a the course of a season. He has struggled and there was a lot of talk about moving him to the mound last fall due to how bad his bat was lagging. Scouting reports on him also say he is not a very good defender at 3B but his arm makes up for some of his deficiencies. Andujar would be an interesting second piece in a deal. A guy just said a few posts ago that he is the best defensive 3B in the minors. Quite a swing.

6/19 Games (Great Falls in action for first time)

Rymer has really been hitting up. 7 hits in his last 9 ABs, and 11 of his last 20. -
QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 04:07 PM) Q and Frazier for Adams, Andujar, and Fowler. We get another player if they want us to take Headleys contract for tax purposes. This would be an awful trade for Q alone. May as well hold onto Q if that is all you're getting. Adding Todd Frazier to it would just make it worse.

If they don't go May or Engel, the Hanson / Willy CF platoon should be intriguingly bad defensively.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) The last time I can recall the Sox being so badly gutted by injuries was 1973 when they used the DL if I remember right over 30 times. At least the timing is right if it has to happen at all since this is the start of a rebuild anyway. Even so it is ridiculous and frustrating as hell to me since many of the guys hurt could potentially have been used to upgrade trades and deals. 10 day DL is a huge factor.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'd love to hear the scoop from one of the prospect gurus.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 04:16 PM) Is that who that is? Is he legit or just BS? I know for a fact it is his kid. No idea on if he is a legit baseball prospect. -

May as well take some gambles here are try to throw some cash at a tough sign lottery ticket or two. -
QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 10:02 PM) One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong... Beck has looked quite good outta the pen.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Its like the Sox are checking soxtalk and taking into consideration to what people are saying. Lends to the idea that rabbit is actually in the war room. Gonna go ahead and guess that people that scout baseball players for a living aren't taking any semblance of advice on anything anyone says on a message board.

Seems like a pretty sweet get at this point. Mlb.com had him ranked 48.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 03:14 PM) Have to imagine they have signaled they will not sign. Skoug is a college jr. Why wouldn't he sign?
-
QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 03:13 PM) it's all about the $$$. I'm sure some of them will go in 11 due to the slotting considerations Sorry for the novice question, but are the no limitations on what you can pay a guy in the 11th and on?

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) Anyone here wanna fill a n00b like me in on this term "arm bar" -- haven't heard it before Burger. Basically back arm drops it's a horizontal angle when loading for swing. Todd Frazier is an example of an arm bar on the Sox. -
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 03:31 PM) Absolutely agree. I saw recently where only the Giants have a combined worse minor league record than the Sox. Their top three farm teams are something like 8-24 in June and Birmingham doesn't have much talent at all. They need hitters and position players. Plenty of pitchers in the system with potential but they have got to get talent that plays in the field everyday. Minor league records don't mean anything.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) Why get bats over someone that the Sox think could be a top of the rotation starter? If Kyle Wright fell, would you pass on him for a bat? What about Hunter Greene? No you wouldn't. That wasn't who I was referring to. If a top 3 arm falls (it wont), sure. But I want a bat over Bukauskas.
