  1. No, he only had 2 chances though. Doesn't change the fact he posted -5 DRS is 37 games there in 2022, though. I remain far from convinced Alberto is any better, however.
  2. The Twins did do a better job insulating for it, however, adding solid major league vets like Farmer, Solano and Taylor for their bench while Sox added Billy Hamilton, Jake Marisnick and Hanser Alberto. None of those guys for the Twins are necessarily guys you want starting for long stretches of the season - and they already are for the Twins as they're every bit as banged up as the Sox - but they aren't going to kill you.
  3. Still no Correa. Solano 1B, Buxton DH, Miranda 3B, Gordon LF, Jeffers C, Larnach RF, Farmer SS, Julien 2B (MLB debut), Taylor CF
  4. Still no Correa. Solano 1B, Buxton DH, Miranda 3B, Gordon LF, Jeffers C, Larnach RF, Farmer SS, Julien 2B (MLB debut), Taylor CF Wrong thread, my bad.
  5. Another thing that has been bugging me about last nights game is that Taylor was pretty clearly inside the baseline on that final play. While you don't see that called a ton, the Twins were literally a benefit of that call last weekend against the Astros in a similar play (albeit the catcher threw to 1b). It glanced off Kyle Tucker's shoulder who was called out, and then got tossed from the game while arguing. I am assuming that isn't reviewable because on replay Taylor was very clearly inside the baseline. I was at the game and it certainly looked like possible interference in real time, and once I was able to watch the replay it didn't really change my mind. That said, still an awful throw that probably wasn't terribly catchable without getting rammed into by Taylor, but Romy wasn't afforded that chance since it hit Taylor's helmet in fair ground. By letter of the rule, that is technically interference.
  6. Agreed. Tough to play Romy today and recognize that. Just dreadful at bats lately. I’d probably have Burger at 3B, Colas in RF and Sheets at DH today myself. But maybe something is barking at Colas this morning.
  7. I am starting to get concerned about Pedro and Alberto. Hanser has shown no signs he is a major league quality defensive 3B. The options are certainly thin defensively without Moncada available, but have the last two days not been enough Hanser at 3B? Yikes.
  8. Day game after night game is usually pretty standard for the backup catcher to play. Day off tomorrow tho, so I hear ya.
  9. Interesting lineup https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/1646143120134885377?s=46&t=PwGpJSYDHRtBNl_6AGEKiQ
  10. I mean there’s just no one to replace him. Maybe by Friday if Eloy returns. Bet Sosa goes down tho.
  11. Yah, when they subbed Alberto in for Burger in the bottom of 9th for defense, I turned my dad and said that’s an interesting move. Burger is certainly not a good defender, but Sox clearly think Alberto is better. Not sure I agree based on the extremely SSS of watching Alberto. They made the move before the pinch hit the next half inning. Sosa there would have made so much more sense. Shift Romy to 3B if you prefer. Another puzzling move by Pedro.
  12. Should have just stuck with Reylo in 10th. It was a back to back, yes, but He threw only 10 pitches, isn’t pitching tomorrow regardless and Thursday is an offday. We probably lose anyway, but going with Scholtens was terrible. Real problem is Colas and to a lesser extent Romy not getting that run from third in. Romy looked awful at the plate today - totally overmatched. Disappointing loss. Roberts home run was absolutely electric after Duran’s super over the top entrance. Was really fun, but boys just needed to execute in the 10th. Very little chance to win when you don’t score as the road team in extras in the Manfred ball era.
  13. Haha none of these plays are “bad”, but whatever you say.
  14. I mean, I don't think the personal attacks towards jake are really necessary. He's not a good 3B, and he's not your prototypical baseball player body type, but he's worked hard to keep himself in decent shape with those limitations. edit: will admit I missed the movie reference that Ron filled in the gaps on.
  15. Burger is a bad 3B, but Alberto was a disaster yesterday so low bar to clear until Yoan is back. I’d probably stick Romy there and Sosa at 2B tomorrow.
  16. He played 37 games at 3B in 2022 and was awful. He hasn't played at 3B this season (including very little in ST) because he isn't a major league quality 3B, and has proven that. That said, we’ll get an up close and personal look tonight - he’s in there. Pedro probably figuring it cannot go much worse than Alberto last night with 1 error, and another blunder that injured the SS.
  17. Yeah, and its going to cripple that franchise when it happens. When the Mets ran away, you knew it had to be really bad. Twins did get a solid deal if he can healthy, but that seems terribly remote based on what that ankle supposedly looks like.
  18. Doesn't count if he doesn't play for the Sox, c'mon. Only Sox players get hurt and hit the IL!
  19. ooooo. Lots of goodies, tbh. Summer tends to have more options open than this time of year, but some of my favorites are Tony O's Cubans, Red Cow Bacon Burgers, Murray's Steak Sandwich / Smoked Beef Sammy and Kramrczuk's sausages. Target Field is great experience - definitely recommend!
  20. Sox are definitely overdue to see a somewhat urherladed prospect shine. Perhaps that will start with Sosa/Romy likely headed for regular PT next couple weeks.
  21. No one left to call up. Ramos and Rodriguez only infielders on 40 man not on active roster and neither are ready.
  22. Yeah, I was referring to 3B, which was the question (for some reason). There is a reason he hardly played any 3B in ST, in his short stint in AAA or in SSS so far with the Sox in 23. His days at 3B might be down to nothing more than emergencies, but I guess we'll find out next couple days if Moncada is sitting rest of the series. That reason is Burger looked wholly unplayable at 3B in the bigs last year. That said, I actually think he could be the best defensive 1B on the roster with a little more PT there. But low bar to clear, unfortunately.
