  1. No, they didn't last year either.
  2. Sox look dreadful so far. Not going to try to convince you or anyone else otherwise. That said, there are 146 games left to play (90% of the season). Moncada and TA should be back in a week, or so. Hendriks and Crochet sometime in May. Will they and others just get hurt again? Perhaps. But I will choose hope for now. Upcoming schedule is very tough. Next 16 are 3 vs. PHIL, 3 @ TB, 3 @ TOR, 4 vs. TB, and 3 vs. MN. They need to come out that stretch not worse than 13-19. Can the Sox go 7-9 in that stretch? Not if they keeping playing like they have the 10 days. Even at 13-19 (6 games under .500) 32 games in, they still have over 80% of the season left and the May and June schedules are quite favorable for the Sox. The season will certainly not be over. I also don't think a whole lot of the Guardians or Twins. Twins pitching is super overachieving, and their offense ranks towards the bottom of the league. It will even out. 85 wins might take this division. I certainly understand the frustration. I am very frustrated as well. But there is a ton of baseball left to play, and rather the gnash my teeth and be miserable on a daily basis, I will try to maintain some hope of brighter days ahead this summer.
  3. Phillies pitching has been just as dreadful as the Sox, fwiw.
  4. Team defense has been better - the biggest defensive issues have been from bench players - Alberto/Burger at 3B because Moncada is hurt, Sheets in RF instead of Colas, etc. Outside of the Twins series, and the Burger gaffe at 3B yesterday, the defense hasn't really been the issue. Its been mostly terrible pitching, and then when the pitching is solid no one hits.
  5. The Bummer thing is weird. I recall him going through similar stretches last season, but his numbers were pretty good at the end of the year. 2.36 ERA / 3.19 FIP is pretty darn good. But he's just been awful these first 8 appearances. Sox need so much better from him. Diekman on the other hand just sucks, and expecting productive innings from him is foolish.
  6. Exactly. AV is so far from the issue. Wouks it be nice to see more pop? Yah, of course. But Sox aren’t sitting AV to make Burger the everyday 1B. Can’t believe I even had to type that.
  7. I’ll take .500 or better for 100-1; Should be a no brainer for you if the odds are zero.
  8. Such a bad take. Eloy was one of the better hitters in the game 2nd half last season. He’s obviously struggling right now, but DFA candidate? Lolz
  9. That inning actually reduced Diekmans ERA! Good work, Jake.
  10. I doubt Cease is done. Still need to cover 3+ innings tho with an emptied pen. Was better when it was 4-1 pre ??
  11. That’s why I said when he’s healthy. You play Burger at 3B while Yoan is not until he cools off or he starts booting balls. Point is, when Yoan is on roster, they aren’t starting Burger at 3B over Yoan against RHP.
  12. Moncada isn’t losing his spot at 3B this season as long as he’s healthy. He also ain’t getting trades. Hes due $29M next season.
  13. Jake such an easy guy to root for. Absolutely love to see it!
  14. Grifol said Benintendi needed a day.
  15. WST = White Sox Twitter.
  16. I am aware he’s a Grifol guy, but I’d still happily wager he doesn’t survive the season on the 40 man.
  17. Hope Solak clears waivers. Doesn’t look like he’s been outrighted before. Would be nice non 40 man depth. I would have just sent Alberto packing, myself.
  18. The Benintendi water cooler theory was peak WST.
  19. Why even bother? Much rather keep Solak in the org.
  20. It looked to me like Beni was pissed AV dumped a cooler of ice water on him. While I suppose it’s possible the cooler slightly hit his shoulder, seems like stretch he got injured enough to hit the IL on that. That said, doesn’t seem to be alot of other options for Haseley to replace unless it’s an Alberto DFA.
  21. Really need to play well the rest of this homestand.
  22. Was out with some friends and catching up on this thread. That was an entertaining read! Nice dub, Sox. Now figure out the walks and let’s go get the series tomorrow behind 8 strong from Cy Cease.
