  1. For Q, I'd want Martes, Tucker, Perez, and Stubbs. I think a dark horse to watch for Q is Colorado. Have a roster capable of going to the playoffs now, need a TOR starter and maybe some pen help. Anyone think you could do Q & Robertson/Jones for Rodgers/Dahl, Hoffman, Tapia, and Murphy?
  2. I hope he kills it in Washington and all these people b****ing about him eat s***. Dude is an awesome baseball player.
  3. Apparently the Nats increased their offer to Robles, Giolito, and Lopez this morning. Tough to turn that one down, that's a lot of faith in Moncada and Kopech turning into stars.
  4. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) I don't know what it is about it. Maybe it's the fact he winds up in trade rumors. He's a decent player (6ish WAR in 2 seasons) He's s really good player. ISO rose, K% went down, solid D, solid OBP...wish we had that problem
  5. My favorite baseball player probably ever. Nothing but respect for the most talented pitcher in White Sox history. He will be sorely missed on the south side. Can't wait for him to trash Kenny Williams from afar now.
  6. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) That's old regime stuff. Not a JP fan. Understandable, what's to like about a CF with good defense and a .845 OPS?
  7. Details on how Moncada's contract works: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/110285338/br...t-with-red-sox/
  8. You can really tell who does and doesnt follow prospects here. Some of the stuff said in this thread is mind-numbingly dumb. My guess is we hear about another team stepping up their offer for Sale and the Nationals cave for a package of Giolito, Robles, Lopez, Severino, and Soto.
  9. He was a 19 year old in High A this year. He maintained an excellent OBP, BB%, and K% despite being very young for the level. He absolutely dominated low A in his time there. The kid is a stud.
  10. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:00 AM) Fangraphs has his FV as all of 40, largely owing to his hit tool being judged as being below average. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=OF In other words, his FV is roughly equivalent to Charlie Tilson. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-21-pros...cago-white-sox/ You are embarrassing yourself
  11. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Give it up man, it's over. There's not enough talent in the entire organization to seriously compete. If you can't recognize the void of talent watching the games then I don't know what to tell you. It's not like we've been close and we just need 1 thing to get over the hump. No, we need about 5 things. And the payroll has never been 150M+ and it's not going to be just because you want it to. It is what it is, and it's time to rebuild. No one is offering what you're looking for for Sale, we've heard absolutely nothing on our other pieces, who are we trading that is kick starting this rebuild? Have you heard anyone talk about Robertson? Frazier? Melky? Abreu? f***, I haven't even heard a peep on Q.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) No way the Sox would sign EE. The comp system is still the one from last year. They aren't giving up pick 12. They are definitely rebuilding. Just because they haven't cleared everyone out by Monday of the Winter Meetings doesn't mean things aren't going to start heating up. How many other teams have their roster set right now for 2017? They don't even need to sign EE and I agree they are looking to rebuild, but if nobody wants to give you fair value, you need to be ready to pivot to the contention route soon. Hahn has said they've had plenty of interesting talks over the last few weeks, no need to be patient with this anymore. Either it happens in the next few days or you start looking to add pieces to make a playoff push in 2017. There are guys out there that make you a lot better immediately.
  13. I know it's all smoke screens until something actually happens, but if all these teams aren't willing to give up what it's going to take for Sale, why not just pivot and spend some money for f***ing once? You're really telling me this team couldn't compete if they signed EE and Castillo and traded for a CF? I just hope Hahn is smart enough to not get caught up s***s creek without a paddle again thinking the market will come to him.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) It means Carlos has played the most in the MLB thus far, in this case. Soooooo you'd probably have to say his development trajectory is ahead of the other 2 then. In your words, of course.
  15. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) If you look beyond his ERA (not just fWAR) Rodon took a big step forward this year. K/9 went up, BB/9 went way down, some bad batted ball luck along with incredibly poor framing numbers while he was pitching. Carlos is a stud, he is definitely coming into his own.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) A lot of good his fWAR has done us, too! I'm saying if you're going off of their development trajectories since draft day, I suspect the order might switch. Development trajectories? Wtf does that even mean? fWAR tells us Rodon has been the most valuable of the 3 thus far.
  17. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) One of Giolito and Robles will bust. Even if we get both it's why Turner has to be involved. ::facepalm::
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) The book is still out on Carlos. As of right now, both Turner and Schwarbs are the better picks. I'll give you a few guesses which of the 3 has accumulated the most fWAR since that draft.
  19. People really need to get over the fact that Turner is not going to be part of this deal
  20. A package headlined by Giolito/Ross and Robles has my attention. You fill that out with Lopez, Fedde, Dunning, Kieboom, Severino, etc. and I move Sale. Turner doesn't really need to be included in my opinion. If you could get Ross, Robles, Lopez, Severino, and Kieboom, I think you do it.
  21. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:04 AM) I'm not convinced Hahn is good at evaluating any talent. He's a master contract negotiator, which makes your players super valuable, but there is no evidence to suggest this FO can draft fielding talent. That Tim Anderson kid looks pretty decent
  22. Ship Has Sale'd: Sox Somehow Don't Find Partner for Ace
  23. Whether they decide to buy or sell, I think you make this move either way. Solid defensively, average pitch framer, pretty solid offensively with some pop, no internal candidates...this move makes a lot of sense to me. I really hope the Sox make this move and allow themselves some flexibility of trade talks throughout the week.
