  1. The Cole injury concerns seem to have set off a flurry of rumors/activity. I see no rational reason why Getz would lower his ask now given that Cease has looked stellar in spring training. The demand seems to be there.
  2. If McGuffey has heard about an exact package, I'd venture that it its old info and isn't a current offer.
  3. I think that was a given the moment he signed.
  4. Time to pony up MoFo’s.
  5. 4H, 1BB, 13K in his last 6IP. That’ll do.
  6. Nope. Cincy radio only.
  7. Backing up his last start with this one should make him look awfully tantalizing.
  8. Pedro is doing Cease no favors with that left side of the infield...
  9. Cincy radio only!
  10. Or which side is feeding the info.
  11. I think the players reluctantly bought into TLR because of his resume, but it didn't take long for things in the clubhouse to go south. It was already toxic when Pedro took over, and it sure doesn't look like anyone bought into his BS. It took even less time for him to prove that he had no clue what he was doing, and the toxicity began boiling over. Ricky was a bad game manager, but the players played hard for him and by every indication were a tight group behind the scenes. The unraveling began the moment the TLR rumors started swirling and the downward spiral ensued.
  12. His motivations might be influenced by a desire to appease his boss with a more immediate short term impact, but it’s silly to think his job is at all in jeopardy. Unless there are plans to sell the franchise within the next 5, Getz’ job is probably pretty safe.
  13. Mark an X on the day TLR was announced and connect all of the dots until we reach last year’s catastrophe. Placing the blame or the majority of it at TA is certainly curious. Not saying he’s blameless, but the toxicity is bigger than one player’s terrible year personally and professionally.
  14. This spring should serve as all the confirmation we need. Perhaps another org can turn him into a viable bullpen piece, because it sure doesn’t look like it will happen here.
  15. If there were an award for nonsensical word salad, Pedro would be the run away winner. What the actual f*** does that combination of words even mean?

  17. Kopech off to another brilliant start...

A: It's spring training. B: He hasn't gotten regular PT in games. C: Its freaking spring training.
  19. Can we flip him now so we don’t have to watch him crater back to earth once the games count?
  20. Paddling a canoe? You better believe that's a paddling!

Those AB's should probably go to *anyone* else who might actually be productive. If anything I think it points to him being on the roster unfortunately.

While true, what exactly has Sheets done to have a virtual lock on a roster spot? Other than be worse at everything? If suddenly guys need to earn a roster spot through merit, then, um, there are quite a few names on the list that would be way ahead of poor Oscar.
  23. Cease? He looked great. Touched 97 and was completely in control. One hanging curve was smashed for a homer but that was really his only mistake.
