  1. I don't think there is a snowball's chance in hell they are a .500 team, but if by some bizarro world scenario they are you're probably right. This org loves to shoot itself in the foot like no other.
  2. These are all sound points. Let's hope the boobs in charge have the same priorities, and Pedro's incompetence doesn't get in the way.
  3. We can't forget about their propensity for overpaying mediocre FA. No one really knows yet how much leeway Getz will have compared to his predecessors. Yes they will likely spend some money, but how that gets allocated or how well that gets allocated is another story.
  4. Without counting up every single team's spring broadcasts, it seems like other teams are broadcasting more games on tv, radio, and web. Not the end of the world or worth all of the hand wringing IMO, but it does feel like the Sox are doing the absolute bare minimum this spring compared to years past.
  5. Realistically, no. Too many things have to go right, and things going right in this org feels improbable. If by some miracle they luck into a few breakout performances from the kids, maybe the can creep into the 70+ win range in 2025. Even then ownership's penchant for not investing wisely is a potential roadblock. I can't even venture a guess as to when they might be. Even four years out feels like a stretch.
  6. I’m not. They did nothing and somehow had a better offseason.
  7. Suddenly having PTS flashbacks to when the Cubs introduced that stupid pants-less mascot
  8. I second this. Red Rocks and or Hoover Dam are better uses of time and money.

    Nonsensical word salad.

I hadn't noticed it in the few AB's of his i've seen, but the side by side is obvious. Hopefully his hot start has a lot to do with the change.
  11. So explain his negative dWar last season when he played entirely at 1B? And the rest of his mediocre offensive numbers? Yeah, he played out of position as a rookie, but far less the past two seasons. Yet the bat hasn't carried over. Limited power, average bat, slow AF, poor defensive 1B's just aren't that valuable.

  13. I seem to remember him being upper 90s in his debut. Sadly the lengthy rain delay cut his day short and he was shut down a start or two later.
  14. So about that defense...
  15. Shuster looked good in the 1st inning at least...
  16. Burdic won't be winning any jobs with today's effort.

  18. Smug idiot hoisted on his own petard. Works for me.
  19. You might be on to something there. I hate the org with a burning passion, but even if they moved to the burbs I would feel a profound sense of loss. If you aren’t local, what changes for you if they move? Not a whole lot.
