  1. This will certainly go well. Nothing could possibly go wrong with this idea.
  2. Even if they were planning on trying to stretch him out into a multi-inning opener or something of the sort, he's never shown he can handle the increase workload. Asinine decision making is par for the course but I honestly don't understand how they can expect this to work.
  3. When was the last time he was even available to pitch as a regular reliever? Him starting can't seriously be part of their plans next season.
  4. *Sox blogger who is no more in the know than any of the rest of us. Sox On 35th is also known for plagiarizing other's work, so take anything written there with a grain of salt.
  5. Ah. That's a little different then.
  6. Ahh, now it's the Sox turn to negotiate publicly through Bob.
  7. Me too.
  8. So you want a homophobe hired just to persecute queer people. Cool cool.
  9. Those EV's are tantalizing, but the K rate is worrisome, especially in a system not known for working on player's flaws.
  10. Please, don't even start speaking that into existence...
  11. It’s hard not to want the O’s prospects I’ve been pining for for ages, but NYY seems more willing to make a deal.
  12. The longer this drags out the more I think that they have someone lined up, but are waiting to announce to lessen the blow. But it’s not like they actually care about fans, so I don’t know what to think.
  13. f*** this. So queer peoples should just get over the hated couched as ‘phobia’ from people like him? It’s not as if there aren’t political efforts to erase Trans peoples from existence or anything. Or roll back the rights of gay peoples everywhere. Rights as humans they always had but were stripped of by the bigoted ruling masses. He is deserving of a second chance in your opinion because you’re a straight white male and your privilege shields you from ever having to be on the receiving end of what he did? f*** That. Do better.
  14. Professional ‘screw up’ that revealed who he really is. A simple apology doesn’t exonerate him for what he said. There is no putting the Genie back in the bottle after that. As for second chances, he is free to making a living in any other industry he likes, but he shouldn’t be awarded the opportunity to spew hate over the airwaves ever again.
  15. “Covers” is a bit of a stretch no doubt.
  16. Because the info is coming from the NY side and local media here is too afraid to lose access?
  17. Not even in the realm of possibility? We saw way too much of awful Yaz so it's hard to fathom, but I wouldn't hold my breath expecting drastic improvement.
  18. As hard as it is to believe someone could be worse than Yaz, Maldonado says hold my beer.
  19. One single Bob article from Sunday morning =|= predictions plural. Its not like he reports anything his "sources" don't intentionally want out there.
  20. Yup. Really wish the Mariners would have kept him around.
  21. Nah. A cap maybe to limit how much can be deferred as to prevent skirting luxury tax ramifications, but not in favor of an outright cap.
  22. Exactly. And leaking to Bob is nice camouflage despite how much he normally suckles at Jerry’s teet.
  23. Haber being out is fantastic news. I know nothing of Wong, I’m just flabbergasted that they can’t stop hiring former Royals. They’ve imported so much of their org garbage that it’s hard to view potentially good hires without the Royals taint.
  24. Friday we had multiple suitors, Saturday the Yanks weren’t so sure, and Sunday morning Bob is throwing cold water. Interpret this how ever you’d like, but it sure looks like classic negotiating through the press to me. Someone who is hot after Cease wants it out there that the asking price is too high, trying to call Getz’s bluff. It’s odd coming from Bob, but the landscape hasn’t significantly changed in the past 72 hours.
