Correct. Picking 5th this year really bones them. For example, Washington actually landed the top pick in the lottery but was ineligible b/c they picked top 6 last draft, so they pick 10th. The Sox look to be worse in 2024 but can pick no higher than 10th because they landed top 6. It really is the worst case scenario for a team desperate for young talent.

An FA signing window might be interesting. From the World Series ending to the GM meetings, teams can only talk to their own FA. GM meetings to Winter Meetings team can negotiate w/ any FA or discuss trades not sign/trade yet. Winter Meetings until mid-Jan is the signing period. After Jan 15 teams can still sign MiLB deals or Spring Training invites or something along those lines.

Completely agree. Even in a down year on a shitty team, he still showed his worth. The notion some are floating that he’s tarnished and not worth much in trade is absurd.

This has to be dullest early offseason in years. The Winter Meetings are practically over and it’s been boring AF.

Hard to glean much without diving into each of those games, but that's not insignificant. On the surface it suggests that he kept his team in the game, and we all know the offense, defense, and pen sucked ass.
