  1. Dovetails nicely with the scathing expose' The Athletic did on JR last September.
  2. I don't think any of them are criminals (yet...) 😄
  3. They played better after the All Star Break, that's well and good but it was still below .500. Sorry I don't have your faith for three primary reasons. 1. JR is till the owner and with labor unrest he's not taking any risks 2. Getz has shown to be poor at allocating whatever resources JR allows him to spend. 3. As far as on the field the pitching staff is brutal. Period. Very little starting pitching and a bullpen that the past two years has been the worst in baseball especially at blowing late leads. How do you get to 70 wins with that? You're counting on Getz to somehow make better choices in that area then what we've seen, well.. time will tell. Personally I expect more of the same, cast off's, retreads, has been's, injury prone guys and over 30 guys just trying to hang on and get a paycheck. Not exactly a recipe for winning is it or even getting to .500. But again, time will tell.
  4. That's a lot of "if's" And you know JR isn't going to allow Getz to spend any real money to bring in some quality players. Sorry I can't see them winning more than 65 and that is "if" everything goes right for them, if not? A fourth straight season of 100 losses.
  5. With the labor situation on the horizon, it won't be much if any.
  6. Just incredible. Milwaukee being held to four runs total in four games by the Dodgers is also remarkable.
  7. Probably a wise prediction. But again with labor uncertainty looming I just can't see JR allowing Getz to extend the payroll much (as if JR needed the excuse...)
  8. You've now really gone over the deep end haven't you? 🤡
  9. Oh I'm not forgetting this just that from those two guys perspective it is no big loss.
  10. Story in the Tribune today as a lawmaker introduces bill that could hinder Bears options. The legislation from state Rep. Kam Buckner of Chicago — a former University of Illinois football player who represents the district where Soldier Field is located — calls for greater transparency around stadium deals in Illinois and could require the team to dig deeper into its pockets. It remains silent, however, about major financial issues, including whether the franchise would have to pay off outstanding debt for the 2003 Soldier Field renovation, a point some opponents of the team’s move have said is a bare minimum for their support. Gov. JB Pritzker said last month the team needs “to pay off what’s owed on the existing stadium,” Soldier Field, as a prerequisite for additional help from the state. He has previously said the state could help with infrastructure surrounding a stadium but has been hesitant to promise public dollars to subsidize the privately owned team. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/10/14/illinois-lawmaker-introduces-bill-that-could-hinder-chicago-bears-move-to-suburb-as-legislative-session-begins/
  11. I think most fans already knew and expected this especially with labor uncertainty on the horizon. JR won't take risks in the best of times, with the 2027 season in some jeopardy he won't do a damn thing.
  12. Really good story assessing where the Bears are quoting Johnson. Also talks about trying to get help at the deadline: https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2025/10/13/in-year-4-of-rebuild-bears-still-have-long-way-to-go-on-roster-as-they-try-to-tailor-it-to-coach-ben-johnson
  13. Another nail biter. I thought they could win six games but now with the injuries to Cincinnati and Baltimore, they can win eight, which would be a tremendous improvement.
  14. And remember the nice stadium agreement the Sox have with the state of Illinois, JR owning the parking lots and their investment in the minor leagues and development has been "slim" for a number of years. Also during the initial rebuild during those three years the Sox had among the lowest payrolls in baseball and one year did have the lowest.
  15. Even I think 250 million is a stretch (but perhaps not with Ishbia running things) but I think 190-200 is doable if ownership actually wanted to.
  16. Not commenting on the political notation in the original post one way or the other but I was intrigued by the figures. If this is true and I have no idea if it is, that puts a little different spin on the White Sox situation doesn't it? Post was originally sent by a Cub fan very upset with Ricketts ownership.
  17. https://www.southsidesox.com/chicago-white-sox-commentary-and-analysis/117379/andrew-vaughn-was-never-going-to-be-king-in-chicago
  18. Short answer: No. He was part of the problem.
  19. Exactly. F the Cubs and all that they stand for. It's wild some people think Sox fans should root for the Cubs and visa versa. You don't see Yankee fans rooting for the Mets do you? Or Dodger fans rooting for the Angels? It doesn't work that way folks. You pick your side, pitch your tent and that's it.
  20. Vaughn sucked with the White Sox but I'm very happy he got to stick it up the Cubs rear end. Now I can enjoy the postseason...no Red Sox, no Yankees, no Cubs.
  21. I'd be surprised if he got that much given his injury history the past two seasons, but we'll see.
  22. But when they cost a team wins they are anything but dumb aren't they? 🤔 If you recall Wilson was asked to close a few times and the results weren't the best plus even as a seventh or eight inning set-up guy he had issues. Sorry in my mind he just isn't very good. Maybe because the Sox are going to lose 100 games again next year you keep him around but blowing SO many games after the 7th inning and losing when you had the lead, the past two years, can't be good mentally for the young players.
