  1. They'll be good when new ownership arrives, fires the baseball side of the operations from top to bottom and brings in competent people.
  2. Just a point, we have no idea even when this guy will be healthy enough to play do we?
  3. I guess the 'good news' is that the bullpen wasn't able to blow another late lead. 🙄
  4. All valid questions. Again why the Sox aren't willing to give him a legit chance is bizarre. Getz's comment on him from a few weeks ago was telling. But let's keep playing injury-prone, 30+ stiffs who won't do squat for the team now or in the future.
  5. There's a decent chance Perez eventually decides to have TJS and the Sox will get nothing for him. We should know more on his status as they move into July but I'm not holding my breath given his injury.
  6. Game time has been changed to 1:10 PM Eastern, 12:10 in Chicago. Weather issues.
  7. It's been really quiet because I suspect JR and his minions have been told no money is going to be available from the state or the city, period. (Just like the Bears have been told) There could be some movement when or if JR holds a press conference and says he will put in to the project a substancial amount of his own money.
  8. Baker has been on the injured list since April 22, don't know if he is even healthy enough to try to play right now.
  9. And outside of Liam they all sucked because this ownership/front office wouldn't know talent or be able to develop talent if it bit them on the ass.
  10. The solution is for new ownership to bring in competent people at all levels and areas who know how to judge talent, acquire talent, refine talent and keep talent healthy. Until then we get crap. End of story.
  11. Houser became the fourth pitcher to throw six-plus scoreless innings in his first two starts with the Sox, joining Frank Baumann (1960), Jack Lamabe (1966) and Johnny Cueto (2022), according to Elias. The White Sox have scored two runs in his two starts.
  12. They have been part of the problem the past years to be sure but the players are equally to blame. As far as the coaches it's possible they are trying to teach but the players aren't listening or they can't teach to start with. Both may be true.
  13. Tauchman brings nothing to the table even when healthy. he's done.
  14. You are asking a "baseball stupid" organization filled with "baseball stupid" players to be able to execute fundamentals. That's just not happening. 7th game this season the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost. 3rd time this has happened in the last five games played. Sox could have been 5-0, instead they are 2-3. Booser has been directly responsible for losing two of the seven games. Last year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost 27 times. This year they may come close to that mark again.
  15. If you remember Getz's comment from a few weeks ago it appears that they do not have a high opinion of him or feel he's a long term solution.
  16. True but a lot of that is because the franchise itself is incompetent, dysfunctional and inept from top to bottom.
  17. There are seemingly countless examples of Hahn and now Getz wasting JR's "precious" $$$$$ on has been's, stiffs, injury-prone guys and retreads 'hoping' they will suddenly do well when historically the prior results said it was a very long shot at best. Yet when it comes to paying top dollar, for game changing franchise altering talent, that is apparently off limits. Who can figure out the logic in that philosophy.
  18. I would be very, very surprised if Colson was here before the All-Star break. He's starting to play better but this is a very small sample right now, they don't want to destroy his confidence by bringing him up and seeing him fall flat on his face. As bad as this team is Colson isn't going to change that dynamic, let him keep showing he has turned the corner. I wouldn't mind if he stayed in Charlotte the entire season, maybe come up in September.
  19. “I had a green light, and I was sitting on one look right there, and I got it. I wasn’t expecting (an) inside move. It’s just a well-timed inside move by them. Looking to be aggressive with one out, trying to get to third and give us an opportunity for a sac fly, passed ball, something like that.”--Michael Taylor
  20. Just another game where a lack of fundamentals (fielding, base running) and a bad bullpen snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. 6th time this year the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost the game. 3th time this year the lead was lost in the 9th inning. Leasure has personally been responsible for two of the six lost games and helped lose a third. I don't know if he has much of a future myself. Sosa already with nine errors this year which is heading into Tim Anderson territory over a full year.
  21. He wanted to, it just never happened. Don't know how he did in his career against the Sox but I remember an August game in 1990, the Game of the Week on CBS at Comiskey Park where he gave up the game winning hit to Ozzie.
  22. The Sox have scored three runs or less in 34 out of the 52 games played, 65%. That's actually an improvement. A few weeks ago they were at 70% total games scoring three runs or less. 65% is still really bad though.
  23. 2.7 to 3 million dollars is big money to me and I'm guessing is to you as well.
  24. It's called ownership with a long track record to prove you not being willing to trust them is probably a very wise decision.
  25. Another guy we had high hopes for who completely flamed out and did basically nothing but collect big money.
