I actually had a laugh from this. Well played. It's not that injuries happen, it is just that it seems to be a trend where the Sox either announce that someone who has been hurt is progressing and then weeks, sometimes months after the fact (like with the pitchers I named) something has gone wrong or in Rodon's case if I remember right it turned out to be a different injury. The Sox announce "so and so is being held out and slowly worked back in spring training..." We don't see or hear anything and then...SUDDENLY, "oh he has to have surgery..." Incompetence across the board. You can go back to "Shouldergate" where Kenny had to defend his medical staff in a press conference after the Sirotka controversy in 2001.

I don't think Minor League players are union members. I don't know if they have a united representation or not, I'm guessing they don't.

He had surgery to shave down a bone spur in his right elbow. "Supposedly" he was 'good' to go and was ramping up his off season work. Clown organization from top to bottom in all areas. 🤡

If it happens it happens, the Sox will still suck so unlike 1981, 1994 and the pandemic in 2020, it won't destroy a good season at least.

Based on history and the way things went during the last lockout the MLBPA will never under any circumstances agree to a salary cap. That is the one tenet that has continued since the mid 1960's when Marvin Miller took over. And the case can be made the MLBPA is the strongest union in the world. Owners keep trying to chase this dream while their profits keep going up (cue Manfred's comments from a few months ago). The union isn't going to buy it in any way, shape or form.

They haven't since 1994 when the Stanford economist agreed upon by both the owners and the union destroyed the contention that 18 teams were "losing" money. Owners vowed to never do it again.

Getz is right, they are headed in the right direction...as soon as new ownership arrives, not until then.

I read where the Sox person in charge of this (not Brooks) was quoted as saying there will be events through out the year celebrating the 05 championship and team. perhaps that is why only three members of that club are at the event this week?

Have that game in my library. Mark struck out a career high 12 batters. Konerko hit two solo home runs and that was the difference in a 2-1 win.
