  1. I know Ricky isn't there, but Yolmer's lack of hustle right there was the most blatant of all year, yet he's still in the game.
  2. He seems to do something like that every game
  3. Eloy 3-4
  4. I'd be jumping for joy if he agreed to that which tells me it won't happen. Eloy is different from TA/Eaton and so on, I'd imagine that even with 0 MLB ABs, he'd need a lot more money than that. If he's anything like what we expect him to be, he would get more than $40 mil alone in his arb years.
  5. I believe he's eligible to return tomorrow. So this makes sense. We'll see him in a week
  6. This is one of my favorite sports photos ever, for so many reasons.
  7. In the increasingly unlikely event that he's called up before mid-April of next year, I really don't think I'll care about the extra year. While I would disagree with the decision deep down, I also know I would just be way too excited to see him play to care.

  9. Nah, only 5 innings! Long reliever at best!
  10. Very well written. Even with all this, I still can see us trading him to a contender (Cubs, Oakland, etc) to try and get him another ring. Maybe, once his option is declined, we sign him to a one year Miguel Gonzalez deal to eat innings until Cease/Dunning are called up, or even hire him as a coach of some sort.
  11. I was at least hoping to see Vieira, who is rested
  12. That's what I was answering. Since July 1, he has had 9 games where he had 0 hits and 0 walks
  13. Modifying your question because he had a game with 0 hits and 3 walks. So it's 0 hits and 1-3 walks, and the number for that span is 9
  14. 1) 6 2) 0 hits and 0 walks- 7
  15. Yolmer really should not have gone home at all, but I guess it worked out
  16. What is it with this series and really weird plays
  17. On a day where he doesn't seem to have his normal stuff, that's a very good outcome.
  18. I'd probably be ok with that. At this point, they're both interesting/good enough hitters to warrant another full season of ABs in my eyes. Delmonico could also spell Abreu at 1B on occasion, I suppose.
  19. Help, I still can't tell if I prefer Palka or Delmonico
  20. I love Yolmer's dance after scoring. He's so fun
  21. I'm not against the move, but I am a little surprised that there was apparently such little interest in Avilan. He's a quality lefty reliever, with another full year of control, and guys like that tend to at least be in some demand.
  22. Yeah, I'm not suggesting that we just cut everyone. But I also believe that there are quite a few guys of little to no value that don't exactly deserve to be penciled into the 40 man. At the same time, the odds of teams actually selecting a lot of the guys we need to protect are slim. We saw this last year with Guerrero going unprotected, to the surprise of many, and not getting taken. There's still enormous risk involved with taking a player in the Rule 5 and actually keeping him on the MLB roster all year. Guys like Zavala, Burr, etc? Sure, I can definitely see teams taking them. Players like Mendick (skill), Guerrero (don't think we'd miss him too much), or Forbes (too raw for MLB), however, I don't see teams taking, and if they do, I don't think it would go very well for those teams.
