2018 White Sox catch-all thread
- Sox "Opener" strategy
Even the Rays don't do this with their premier starters. Snell, Archer (before the trade), etc. actually start the games. I don't know if we'd need to do it with Kopech and so on. At least, I hope we don't have to- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers
Unrelated but for some reason the way he says "Comerica Park" really bothers me- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers
Absolutely. Not to mention a decent start from Lopez (bad defense behind him), good relief outings from future guys like Vieira, Fry (hopefully), etc.- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers
I don't remember if it's you or someone else who often points out Abreu's high leverage stats as below his career averages (but still respectable), but you/whoever that is may be pleased to know that Moncada seems to be quite good in those situations. His high leverage and clutch stats are way better than his normal stats. When the game is on the line, bases loaded, etc. he becomes a machine. Only swings at strikes, and when he does, he kills them- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers

I know it's meaningless with this sample size and rust, but given how high of a ceiling he has, I don't know how to feel about Robert's swing and miss rate so far- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers
They lost yesterday- but had they won, you're still allowed to start the game thread if there isn't one up by first pitch- Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
Congratulations- 8/24 Game Thread - White Sox v. Tigers
Lopez may throw 98 but it's so flat and hittable. It's nice to have Kopech, who seems like he can sit at 96-98 but with movement- 8/24 Games
Throw guys like Tanner Banks and Colton Turner into the "organizational filler" category. Non-prospect.- Nick madrigal tracker
His BABIP at Winston-Salem is .281, which isn't that low and could be a good indicator of what his career BABIP would be if he continues to just chop pitches into the ground all the time. I agree with the rest though.- Trade Proposals
I don't think this is the first time he's vanished for a bit- I think/hope he's ok and will come back eventually.- Nick madrigal tracker
Yeah, I definitely agree there. Singer would've been a mistake. And I'm also not concerned about Madrigal, at least not this early. I just hope he goes into next season with refined mechanics and a more open mind when it comes to taking walks.- Sickels features Sox MiLB relievers
While it's nice to get the recognition, I don't like that he exclusively uses W/L record and ERA for the relievers. Those are probably the two last stats that should be used to judge a reliever, really- Nick madrigal tracker
I know it doesn't matter, but despite a .197 batting average, Jon India has a higher on base percentage than Madrigal right now. I'm not too high on the pick but not because of his power- rather because he's an on base guy who doesn't want to take walks.- PTC Friday August 24th at 6:10 PM CDT Chicago at Detroit
Delmonico- Eloy Jimenez: I'm Ready (Players' Tribune)
For Eloy and the MLBPA, it’s good because it brings more attention to the service time rules and the fact that a player who’s MLB ready is still in AAA- Eloy Jimenez: I'm Ready (Players' Tribune)
As has been theorized earlier, that might have been the point- to bring more nationwide attention/anger over Eloy still being in AAA- 8/23 games
Just shut him down and hope for offseason improvements- Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
Most of them are 11-14 years old. There’s this really weird segment of 11-14 year old girls on Twitter that obsess over certain actresses and singers. This was their doing- Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
Nothing too bad, relative to Hader and Allen and whomever. He used a gay slur a few times when he was in college and since deleted them- Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
Yeah he was the main guy. Fry was the other, who has also since been exposed on a smaller scale. There aren't any more major ones to my knowledge- Kopech the latest MLB player with questionable Twitter history
These tweets have been well known among Sox fans on Twitter since December of 2016, for what it's worth - Sox "Opener" strategy
