  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 1, 2017 -> 06:03 PM) It really sucks when Covey and Pelfrey start 40% percent of your games. I know we have Fulmer and Lopez coming eventually but this is awful. Give me Danish over one of these dopes. At least he's quasi-interesting. Better yet, give me Rodon and Shields
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 1, 2017 -> 12:07 PM) My favorite thing about Avi is that he always gives 100% effort when he is running out a groundball. Not all guys do that. Agreed. Even prior to this year, I always liked him solely due to his effort. One of my favorite moments with him was the year he was injured and pronounced out for the season in April or May, but he somehow worked his way back in early September.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2017 -> 11:12 AM) I have yet to really notice Benetti in a broadcast. That really is about all I have on him. He is the prototypical 21st century announcer. Some people like that, it bores the crap out of me. The split in time between the two just reminds how little personality is in the booth now. Yeah, Benetti really just asks Stone question after question after question, which gets old by the 4th inning.
  4. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 11:26 PM) I know David had a rough day today, but Fernando Rodney just blew another save and is carrying and era north of 10. The dbacks... Could really use a closer! They do have a glut of position player talent. Could be a good match.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) Isn't that a potentially career ending injury? I'm sure he'll be back next year. It's bad, but not that bad
  6. Ken Rosenthal‏Verified account @Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Nationals’ Eaton has torn ACL, out for year.
  7. Funny how Robertson gets both a blown save and a win. Hope we can finish it out tomorrow
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2017 -> 10:29 AM) He has been pretty solid for a long time but you are probably right. He is going to run out of gas at some point. And for some perspective, Jennings peripherals have been pretty much the same his entire career, and Miami got Andre Rienzo for him. I wouldn't think his value is any better now. I think we could get a top-10 organizational guy for him. His left-handedness alone does help.
  9. It's July 31st, 2017. The Chicago White Sox are 6 games over .500, 1.5 games behind the Cleveland Indians, and in 2nd place in the AL Central. Avisail Garcia is hitting .325, Matt Davidson has 18 home runs, Rodon has a sub-3 ERA, and the bullpen remains dominant. Yoan Moncada and Lucas Giolito have had strong showings since their early June call-ups. Nevertheless, the Sox swing trades for Dan Jennings, David Robertson, Melky Cabrera, Todd Frazier, and Nate Jones. -------------------------------------------------- Even though that was mostly sarcastic, I can actually see this team being pretty good and still selling, to the dismay of *some* fans.
  10. Eaton just went down with a pretty bad looking knee injury.
  11. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 08:10 PM) Tanaka has an outside shot at a Maddux tonight. You called it
  12. He should DH 3-4 times a week and play 1B the other 3. We can split the 1B time between Frazier and Davidson, for now.
  13. If we want to win without Rondo, we need Canaan to start at PG, with the backup PG minutes being split between Wade/Butler (which would, in turn, just give Zipser more burn at SF). We also need to attack IT when he's on defense. It's inexcusable that he played the final ~16 minutes with 4 fouls and we only posted up on him a handful of times.
  14. Can't hurt to stick him in CF and either flip him for whatever you can get at the deadline if he exceeds expectations, or just DFA him if he sucks.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 09:44 PM) Was there much complaining going on in the stands? Any laughter at the bad team on the field this year? Any mention of the alleged "rebuild" from the fans? Tell us bout the crowd's demeanor please. People honestly seemed pretty bored for the most part. I guess that happens when you get 3 hits. Lots of applause for May's hit, however I don't know how much of it was sarcastic. Most left in the 7th/8th inning
  16. I was there, pretty boring game. Nice 31k crowd though.
